Got detention for laughing at 9/11Slideshow LOL I'M A d**k

I didn't know it was 9-11 till it came on the morning announcements. The whole time our principal was doing the little speech and remembering thing I was doing my homework. I know this day is special, but just like someone said, what about those who had loved ones who died in pearl harbor? Havn't we basically forgot about that too? My dad's over in Iraq because of 9-11, and I really still take this day like any other.

Wow man, that's gotta suck... I know I would've gotten detention, but only because the memorials first period, and I have NJROTC that time, (Naval Science) I'd get some serious downtime for scoffing at the memorial ceremony like that. But hey, everybody's got the right to their own opinion.

We all see that people are saying we have no respect for 9/11 I DO completely. I see that a lot of people have said

'People don't want to see the past'

That is so true and what about the other people that died in different countries. I wouldn't want to be reminder of something like that for 5 FREAKIN' YEARS! like when I was younger I was in grade 2 when I actually found out my dad was dead since I was little my mom did that to protect me. DO YOU HONNESTLY THINK A LITTLE BOY OR GIRL WOULD WANT TO BE REMINDED OF A FAMILY MEMBERS DEATH!
or seeing there mother or father jumping out of a building?
it hurts so much so I think they should still respect them but not over do it.

I got suspended for making a joke during a sob filled speech from our principle the day it happened... I so wish I wasn't an improv actor but when theres a chance to make a scene, I run with it. And im very glad and wouldn't change it for anything.

Hell I laughed when I watched the LIVE FOOTAGE WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING!

But life goes, on you die, and you are forgotten underneath the weight of new tragedies and events. So keep that little diddy in the back of your mind.

He got detention for the those reasons. Okay. But he had the right to laugh didn't he? If he thought it was funny. That's what america is right? Freedom? He has the Freedom to laugh, right? So I do declare they had to make a reason to write him up, over teachers (and i'm sure other students) personal opinion of the incident. I have nothing but grief for those that lost then, but that was then. It's time to move on, because if we don't... That's what happens - fear and chaos.
