The God I believe in is my personal belief of life. To me God is not an almighty being, but life itself. A universal energy that flows through & makes us lives and the trees grow & the river flow. God is energy. I can see the trees & the rocks & the river therefore I take that as my proof of God, or rather, life.
I personally believe that we are too small to correctly comprehend how the universe works. I'm an atheist, and side with science, not because I hate religion, but, because I act on fact.
I know its weird, I have come up with my own theory about how everything works, but, is that better then creating a god for myself? I just believe in what my brain thinks it right.
I think that everything is relevant to each other in scale. What I mean by this, is that If you were magically the size of a rat, for instance, you would see the earth itself a whole lot different. We wouldn't be able to interact with the elements in the same way, because we would be so weak. And travel would be much harder. Lakes would be oceans etc. So, if you applied this simple concept on a larger scale you could see how we would see things a whole lot different.
Now imagine this...Think of ours solar system, and how things revolve around the sun. Now, the universe has a center, and all the solar systems and whatever is out there revolve around that. Now, do you see what I mean at all?
Lastly, I'm sure you all have heard of the "Big Bang" That started everything according to science. I personally believe that we cant comprehend outside our "Universe" because everything that is inside our bubble is self contained, and stays inside, because of how fast its expanding.
I think that perhaps there might be an area outside our "Explosion" . Imagine a string of firecrackers on the 4th of july. All the little explosions only happen a second, but, If you were really small, they might last a lot longer. we might just be inside of a tiny little area in another much larger "World" IF you will.
By now, its getting really hazey, and its not basid upon fact, but, thats as far as I got when I sat down and thought of it. I'm still trying to develop Ideas, and revisions, to make it more realistic, so If you have anything to add, pm me. I would love to converse about it, and improve my thoughts.

Thanks for your time!
there's one God in some beliefs.

stare The existence of God is not doubtful real... Because man in his nature is finite being limited with one body, mind and soul he seeks to explain for answers based on his senses and understanding. That is why man came up or rather study with science in order to seek an explaination to the existence of man and the world around him. talk2hand
Since man cannot understand everything he therefore conclude and leads to God as an reason of the things that man cannot comprehend with his own concept and knowledge.
God is the First cause, the uncaused cause. God is the prime mover and God is the beginning and the end. All things that man can no longer prove by science is simply attributed to God, when man can no longer comprehend a thing, a situation with his mind he ends in saying that there must be someone greater and beyond reason.... God idea
I am going to put this out there again....

How do I know God is real?
How do I know anything is real?
You can't know what is real.
How do I know that statement is true?
That is assuming the statement is true to begin with.
Which clearly goes against...blah, blah, blah......etc.

I don't exactly know what to call this. I guess a thought experiment?
To side completely with science is to side with the finite nature of the human mind. God is infinite, he is beyond our comprehension, and HIS comprehension is beyond anything.

Alright, onto the main subject. How do I know there's 'a God'? Well, the Bible is the answer right there: a true account of the entire life of our Earth. AND before you tell me that the Bible is fake and was written by psychotic posers, let me remind you that by siding with science, how do you know the "Book of the Dead", the Rosetta Stone, or any other ancient artifact is real and wasn't created by a poser? AND before you go on about carbon-dating, let me remind you that carbon is an element that, figuratively speaking, outlives time, so how can a human with a limited life span possibly understand its workings and be certain that its processing offers correct dates?

Secondly, how do I know God exists?.. Well considering the fact that he has answered all of my prayers.... (and I admit that I don't pray as much as I should)... I have stopped getting nightmares (it was a little request), I recovered from my week-long illness immediately after I prayed and had a nap.... and I could go on forever about this, but you've heard enough probably. And I imagine that many of you now wish to flame me.

So there's my two cents. 3nodding

I have thought about this also. Int he end, I think we are just a group of particles, that happen to interact with each other in a way that we call life. Is there a reason for us to live? I dont think so.
I have read somewhere also, that our brains are just an organic recorder. Our perception of our world is based upon what our senses detected in a given time. Our "Reality" Is just a playback of what has happened, therefore, you can consider us living in the past.
Any thoughts?

How can you be absolutely sure of anything?

...can you?
I don't think so.

Thought experiments are fun.
Do christians believe in dinosaurs????
i am not believer in god, nore am i against anyone who is. i personly dont like religion as it cause arguments between people trying to say there religion is right/better which isnt the point of a religion in the first place.

You believe what you want to believe, and let others believe what they want to and dont hold it against them for doing so.
First Of All
there is a God...and you don't have to believe in him its YOUR life anyway... but your right there is no physical evidence but there is emotional and spirital.... he created Heaven and Earth... and he created life on our planet too...he sent his own son down to die for our sins...thats good enough for me... so i've explained my reasons
deal with it
agree with it
or just leave it....
cuz i am not arguing with non-believers today...

I dont want to be rude, but I want to point out a few things I would like to talk about. First of all "How do I know there's 'a God'? Well, the Bible is the answer right there: a true account of the entire life of our Earth." Considering there were only a few people who actually wrote the bible, it was a fairly narrow perception of the times. For example, if a new bible was being written in todays times, lets say, based from the middle east, they would revolve it around their god, and would have an entirely different antagonist. If it were being written in Europe, they might have different opinions of the U.S. and middle east conflict.
Secondly,"I recovered from my week-long illness immediately after I prayed and had a nap.... " Have you ever heard of he "Placebo Effect"? It is a condition that is described by thought effecting your physical body. For example, in modern medicine, before releasing a product, they test people, with "Placebos" in the real medicine, and give a random person the placebo, which s usually a sugar pill that will have no effect on you. If you believe that a medicine will take your headache way, but what you too really didn't do anything, your headache might still go away, just because you believed that it would.
This demonstrates the power of the human mind.
Lastly, My personal opinion/perception of the bible and such writings through history is that they were a form of masses control. If you were convinced that you would go to "Hell" of what have you, you would be inclined to not steal, or commit violent acts etc. This helped people live together peacfully in large societys without crime being as much of a problem with "Belivers". Anyway, thats what I think. Any additions? Oppositions?

I don't mean to go off on a tangent, but you said you don't think we have purpose. What if meaning were defined on how many things, and how much we affect in our lives. If we love someone, and they love us, we are meaningful to them.

Take it a step further. Like I said before when we loose our ego and expand our mind to encompass the world, we are connected with everything, and thus have all the meaning. Of course, we will have to experience this ourselves to tell if it is really true.

'course they do. why shouldn't they? there're many scientific evidence of dinosaurs so, of course it's real. though, i, don't believe that there were dinosaurs at the same time as humans

Haha,I was just thinking about that one too. well, the way I took it at first, was that the world was created all at once, or however it goes, but, there is evidence that it existed for millions of years , as you know. But, Maby they somehow meant that it is the documented human existence, rather then the earths. If you think about that old saying about if a log falls in the forest, does it make a sound. imagine this... A log falls int he forest, and a logger heard it, it would exist to the logger. But, if a person in a city didn't hear it, then it wouldn't exist to them. Therefore, we all have different realities that we exist in. Just a thought...
