I agree that Gaia has seems to be getting more and more commercial lately.
Personally i have my own things i do and dont like about cash things going on. I think i've actually caught on a cinemas show that wanted me to buy a ticket in cash, i didn't use cinema's since except for trailers and anime promotions that were free. I do seriously like EIs, though, lately, i've been on an unpaid internship and have to do with the gold i have.
Dont likes (and generally avoid):
-Paying for streamed movies
-Amount of announcements advertising CS (about 8/10 regard cash items or things i cant go to)
-Those flashy green banners saying im the 12295803625362th person viewing it and win a prize, a free trojan on my works apple computer (epic fail for banner programmer)
-Silly quests for candy promotion, i am already overweight.
-The increasing appearances of real life stars in quests and items. They just dont seem to fit in the style (but that's my opinion (design student)) Mimzy was done pretty well but recent Snoop Dogg and The Hulk make me shudder if i see em, and not in a good way!
- zOMG head start tickets cash only? It would be better to do something like adding 50 to the DC for random people to get on an extremely rare chance.
do likes:
- EI's, i dont mind paying cash for that (if i had cash)
- MC's though lately i havent seen a lot of good ones (i usually send money by post if i do like em and have money)
- Seeing things are happening on zOMG, seriously i havent heard much before the recent outbreaks on MMOMadness. I like the development of the game being more prominent and easier to follow.
Yes, there are more don't likes then do likes currently, but ill bear with it. stuff will get better and soon, when zOMG is there i might be here nearly 24/7 again.
As for a lot of people assuming zOMG will be highly influenced by cash, i truly hope not, and truly do not think so. I have played tons of both P2P and F2P games and the F2P ones usually didnt sell items that made you stronger permanently, or did things you could not obtain in another in-game way, mostly i've seen some less interesting items that, if you think about it, really arent something you want to spend the amount you do on. Stuff like short-span EXP boosts or novelty items that are merely for show are quite frequent though.
I've been in several betas for different games, NDA's prevent from saying what goes wrong and right as well as what goes on at all but i know in some games youll be happy the BETA takes as long as it does as you often will not like seeing the beta on your gold disk. Quoted from another BETA forum :

It will be there soon(TM)
If it wasnt going to be soon there wouldnt be the things like head start tickets and flashy banners saying: Go see this minisite!
