Oh, wow. Yeah, I live in Texas, so snow is rare for me as well. I hope you got to experience snowman building and had lots of fun, sorry you have to go though.

Gosh, it's actually hard to pinpoint what got me into Doctor Who. I remember seeing it occasionally on PBS when I was little, and wishing my parents wouldn't change the channel, but dad only wanted to watch British comedy. He never stuck around for the sci-fi. I believe it was during David Tennant's tenure that I got into it earnestly. I had forgotten about it for years since I was a kid, but then people started talking about it when it got resurrected, and I got curious. Previously Buffy was my favorite show, and James Marsters was going to be on Torchwood, so I started out watching that, only I'm one of those people who will watch an entire series from the beginning just so I won't be lost when the actor I want to see finally makes his appearance. And then, of course, Torchwood references the Doctor so much I decided it was finally time to watch it. Thank goodness the internet has made everything so accessible. smile

I have a hard time picking a favorite Doctor. Of the new series I'd probably say Ten, but Twelve hasn't been around long enough for me to be sure. I may end up liking him better. (Although Ten will always be the hot one. razz ) I've only gotten to the Fourth Doctor in the classic series, and not far enough to know if I like him more than Three yet, but they're my favorites so far. How about you?

It was a little hard since the snow was powdery that day, but I was pretty determined. I can't wait to go back. I never expected to have friends that I met online love me so much, but it's the loveliest thing I've ever experienced.

A friend of mine loved Doctor Who years ago, and I'd watch a few episodes with her. That was the Tennant days.. so, I'll always consider him my first doctor.
It wasn't until this year that I started to really watch it, and I began with Nine, who I really loved. I don't understand why people don't love him more. I got emotionally attached to him! Then it was time for Ten's turn and... : )
I just love him so much. He's endearing and attractive and funny. I'm actually taking as much time as possible to watch him because I'll be extra sad when it's time for him to go. And I'm not sure how I'll like Matt Smith. What do you think?

As for the 12th doctor, I've only seen half of what's out so far and I really like him.I like how dark and sometimes morbid he is. Very interesting

I don't think it's that people don't love nine, I just think he got overshadowed by his successors, especially with the younger audience, because he's not as good looking or whatever. I guess I'm just at the right age for them to all be hot, lol. Matt Smith is 5 years younger than I am, Capaldi and Eccleston are 19 and 13 years older respectively (which seems like a lot but once you get close to 40 it's not that big of a deal) and Tennant is just right at 6 years older. xP Lol, I guess that's my way of saying I love them all.

I was very afraid of what I was going to think of Matt Smith when he came along, too. I didn't think anyone would ever be able to play the role as well as Tennant. That ended promptly before The End of Time Part 2 was even over. He's definitely different, but he's still The Doctor.

Anyway, I ramble. Glad you made it back safe. smile

I have too many favorite episodes. The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances are my favorite Nine episodes, though I really liked Bad Wold/The Parting of the Ways also. His final moments were some good ones.

For Ten, there are so many I love. New Earth because it's hilarious when he's possessed by Cassandra and acting all girly. Silence In the Library/Forest of the Dead, The Stolen Earth/Journey's End, The End of Time... Apparently I like the two parters, lol. And most of the ones with Donna.

For Eleven, I still need to rewatch a lot of them. Eleven is when I started watching it as it came out, so I've only seen a lot of them once, and I need repeat viewings to get a better feel for them. The Doctor's Wife is probably my favorite of his episodes, though it has little to do with Matt Smith. I just liked the story. Matt is pretty goofy sometimes, but anytime I'm doubtful, I just imagine the Second Doctor in the same scenario. Matt seems to channel him, I think.

Florida, huh? I'm in Texas, so my weather is probably not so different from yours. It's been grey and damp the past few days, but not cold, really. Yay, "winter!" xp

That. Was brilliant. I loved it! My friend Pat would love it too. He's part of what got me into Doctor Who.

Actually, Pat is my friend who I make lots of mix CD's for. We have really similar tastes in music and he loved when I put themed CD's together, so listening to that makes me want to make a DW inspired playlist. (I just got a new pack of blank CD's with envelopes, too. c:& So that means I can decorate the sleeve and put a tardis on it or something)
