We have recently been introduced with the ability to add orphans to our avatars. They're cute, and they're homeless. On top of this, there are tons of needy gaians. They need money for their dream avatars, quests, and whatever else.

So, here is what we are going to do!

idea Every month, one orphan will be auctioned off in the marketplace. The auction will last for 10 days. Whoever bids the highest will receive the orphan. if you want to bid on an orphan, please read the third post, entitled "The auction/This month's orphan"

idea Every month, one gaian will randomly be picked from a list of applicants to receive the proceeds of the auction. The monthly gaian will receive a MINIMUM donation of 30,000 gold! If you want to apply to be donated to, please read the entire 5th post, entitled "Want to be donated to?"

idea There is an ongoing random number contest with 3 gold prizes (highest is 10k!), and there is a monthly contest with 3 top prizes! Please be sure to follow the contest rules. If you would like to enter the contests, please read the entire 8th post, entitled "current contest."

I would like to say a special thanks to the bidders in our charity art auction for bidding so high! we are now able to increase the minimum monthly donation to 20,000 gold!! T i f a - F a i r also rocks, for donating ALL of our new banners!
2010:
Our last raffle raised over 350,000 gold for the charity. We're also re-opening after a long hiatus, and to celebrate we're increasing the monthly donation to 30k!

Auctions will start on the 20th of a given month, and end on the final day of that month.

The orphan auction will be conducted in the following manner:
arrow The orphan will be listed in the marketplace (the charity's store)
arrow you bid in the marketplace, simple as that! if you win, you will receive the orphan.

please note: ALL AUCTIONS WILL START WITH A MINIMUM BID OF 1,000 GOLD. If an auction happens to go above 30K in bids, a second gaian will be picked and the auction proceeds will be split between the two.

The person that has been selected to receive this month's proceeds from the auction will be displayed here, along with their application form.

The monthly gaian will receive a minimum donation of 30,000 gold, regardless of how well the auction does. This means if the auction only raises 2000 gold, the charity will add in an extra 28,000 gold. Also, as stated above, if an auction goes above 30K in proceeds, a second gaian will be picked and the auction gold will be split between two gaians.

To ensure each applicant an equal chance at being this month's donatee, they are picked using a random number generator.

If you change your display name, YOU are responsible for letting the charity know what it used to be, and what it has been changed to. if you do not do this, your application will be disqualified because i'm not responsible for tracking you down.

Applications will be accepted from the first through the 20th of every month. The drawing will be held on the 21st, and this month's gaian will be announced. We are currently accepting applications for the month of mayl!

Please make sure you include the color code around the title, and please do not add any bb codes of your own within the application.

Lastly, you are responsible for keeping track of how many times you have applied to be donated to. For every 3 times you apply and don't get picked, you will receive an extra number in the random number drawing. This is to help prevent people from waiting around a year for a donation. Please don't lie here, as it will be obvious if a person is brand new and lying about applying 4 times.

Contest 1: The random number contest!

This contest is simple! Unlike contest 2, this contest will be ongoing, and has no end date.
Use the post action to select a random number from 1 to 500. You may try as many times as you'd like, and if you win you may try to win again smile
the prizes are:
get a number than contains a 3 AND a 7 (in any order) and win 100 gold!
get a multiple of 20 and win 500 gold!
get a 150 or a 350 and win 2000 gold!
get a 250 and win 10000 gold!
To claim your prize, you MUST pm the charity mule the page number and random number of your winning post.
If you don't, then you don't get your prize!

PLEASE be courteous, and if you are going to be playing the random number game for a while then send ONE pm containing all of your winning numbers.
if you don't, i will send you a pm back telling you to do so, and i will not give out a prize until you do.

Contest 2: Party Avatar Contest!!

Starting April 1st we will be having an avatar contest. The general theme is that your avi must be dressed up for a party! Our charity is finally reopening, so this is a perfect way to celebrate <3
