He didn't smoke, but it was one of those nights where he really felt like he should. Like the setting for some grand old shiver film or detective movie. He turned up the collar of his coat uncertainly at the gust of wind as he walked, jumping at the sound of the wind pounding the house into a sound like crude laughter.

"...Definitely a spook flick." He muttered, pausing to eye the place critically.

His name was Falkner graves, a photographer who made a partial living doing a website for the particularly obsessed on psychic photography...which ironically he didn't believe at all. Or at least, he would never have admitted to it.

It made a great shot though, so he was a little grateful for the gust of wind that had drawn his attention, lifting the old, heavy Nikon camera that was almost perpetually around his neck and eyeing the place through the view finder. Get a good shot of this place and he'd be selling prints like they were going out of style. If the shot came out, that is. Which there was a risk for in this kind of lighting, he didn't have his low light equipment, but then he hadn't gone out looking to do a photo shoot. His mistake obviously, he considered, snapping a few frames and lowering the camera again to stare at the house further.

Who lived there anyway? Did anyone?

Laughter again came as the man ventured closer to the House itself, though this time it was much clearer. It sounded less like a gust of wind, and more like that of a child's giggling. It rang with a an innocence that belied the true nature of the House and clear as a bell.

The disembodied sounding laughter, sent a startled thrill up his back that made him squirm in his battered old coat. Wasn't it a little late for kids to be out playing? He debated, walking forward almost on reflex, trying to put a body to that bright, childish laughter before he gave himself the creeps.
Maybe their parents were home. That would be something, he could always try and get permission for a quick shoot outside. Or if not it would be quick fodder for a little article on the site. He needed to update again.
"Hello?" He called out as he approached, wondering if anyone was watching him come up the walk, and reasoning with himself that surely the parents -must- be around if he could hear kids, as he brushed unkempt, dark brown hair from his face.
