A few days passed and you didn’t hear anything from Cloak. The contact number at the bottom of the application was disconnected and if you happened to stop by her house, she was always conveniently gone.

A note on her front door read “Applications Pending” but it looked old and worn out, like maybe it had sat through a couple of storms. How long had she had this job search open, anyway? Come to think about it, the posters had never really specified a due date..

Well, if you keep waiting she’s bound to contact you eventually! ..Right?
