Hm, I'll definitely take note of that; I've never used illustrator before (never even heard of it to be fully honest) I've used PhotoShop, Open Canvas, and Corel so far.

I would go into an art institution, but unfortunately it costs too much money; if I'd know that before I'd wasted two years at the school I've just finished at, I would have just entered in to Expression Art School, since it feeds strait into Pixar. Honestly, I'd prefer more along the animation side, like 2-D, instead of 3-D

Yeah, I figured as much. Ironically, I actually have already talked to the head Chair person of the art department, and she wants me to come in and talk to her again once I get accepted. If I have to, I'll go through the community college into it; get all the basics done and out of the way so I can get to working on the real stuff.

Make sure you know Illustrator. >> That was awesome, being flung into the lower division capstone course and told "Do this in Illustrator! What, you mean we didn't teach you Illustrator and have no classes to do so? Sucks to be you, do it anyway! 8D"

I did, eventually, learn Illustrator... at a community college.

Wow.. that's strange. You'd think they'd have a basic course for the major CS programs. We had a basic Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign course. Briefly touched on everything for those who weren't comfortable with any of the programs. I mean obviously with as short as the quarters are and as complex as those three programs are, they couldn't really get in depth on any one of them but they at least made sure everyone had a handle on them before shoving anyone into a higher level course.

Curious to the computers you both use. I currently have an HP laptop, and it's nearly 2 years old now and I'm looking into getting a new one because it's been giving me a lot of difficulty since day one. I've heard that Apples are good for people who do graphic arts, do either of you have any suggestions?

I use a PC at home, but Macs are industry standard for graphic design. Whenever I can afford a desktop it'll probably be a Mac. I can guarantee whatever schools you end up at will be using Macs. Some even make their students buy iBooks.

Most universities do, but I'm not sure about community colleges.

For all I know, they do have Illustrator classes now. That was a while ago; I've been out of college for four years now. I hope they do. >>;

Yeah, I've heard rumors that most colleges make you buy them. I figure that if I save up almost all summer with my jobs, than maybe I'll be able to afford to buy a new one. Plus, maybe I can talk to my overseas cousin and see if I can get a discount wink
