What was in the basket: Apples (I had a cat that would steal and eat fruit. Mostly apples, pears and bananas)
Story: We had a cat named Dresden that was even more obsessed with boxes than your average cat. A rescue that was more legs and tail than any other part, he had very large blue eyes and was quite endearing. He also knew how to tell time.
Every day at 5:30 he'd go on a mad tear through the house, running into a bedroom and leaping into one of the empty boxes. He would then sit down, cool as you please, and stare straight ahead at the wall the box sat beside. We referred to this as "space ship time", because he would go mad like he was late for a buss or a train, and leap into the box like he had to get the last seat. You could not get in his way at this time, he'd go over dogs, up a person's leg, and throw himself off of furniture or through doors. All to run into a quiet room, leap into an empty box, and crouch down to stare at the wall.
Our shuttle is now departing for Planet Dresden, buckle up, it's Space Ship Time.
