He was maybe only 6 years old. 6 and a half? I can't remember anymore. But yeah. I had another fish that lived that long, and several others that live several years. I... like fish. They can have pretty individual personalities, once you stare at them long enough.

I didn't know hamsters had such short lifespans, though.... sad! 8(

I learned that during my freshman year of college. My roommate and I kept several fish whom we adored. I took a shining to one in particular. He was a bully to the others, so I used to frequently put him in time out in a tank on my desk until he learned not to bother the others. I taught him how to follow my finger for treats, and eventually he started eating out of my hand, or, well...fingers. XD
