Name and Meaning: Nomathemba; Zulu for hope.
Personality: On the move constantly, Noma tries to make as little friends as possible. She doesn't want to go through the heartache of being sperated from a friend that she's come to know very well. Tending to keep herself very closed up unless it's with her sister and father. Towards her mother and brother, she's careful. Hardly says anything because she doesn't know how to act around them. Towards the sister she is with, though, that's when she speaks her mind, acts like a friend, acts her age, honestly.
Future/current Plot Ideas: Right now? The only thing I'm hoping for is for her to get to know quite a few lions, some other species as well. There maybe plots later, but I will discuss it with Yin and LP if I have concerns with anything.
Prompt replying to: A mix of almost all of them?
Response:
Noma loved her Daddy, that much was obvious every time she saw him. She moved to him in the morning, nuzzling up against him, nesting in his mane, anything she could do to get his attention. But lately, Daddy hadn't been paying that much attention to her or her sister, and it hurt her feelings. Talking to her sister about it, she said Daddy was 'flirting'. Now, Noma wasn't a dummy. She knew what flirting was. Often on their travels she saw flirting pairs. So hearing her Daddy was doing this, made her feel funny. Jealous over the fact that this other female was getting the attention she so craved.
Daddy was gone again, and her sister was off with newly made friends, leaving Noma all to herself. Sniffing around their sleeping area, the little lioness curled up in her Daddy's spot and huffed. She was angry now. It was her fault she had no friends, she knew that, but right now, it was time to blame Daddy for everything. If they hadn't been traveling, she'd have lots of friends, and wouldn't even try to get her father's attention. At least, that's what she thought. "I hate always moving," she said to herself, quietly. Even if no one was around, she didn't want anyone to hear her. "I want.. friends.. Sister has friends, why shouldn't I?" Looking to the sky, it was still daylight, and had plenty to go before sister would get back. She doubted her dad would be back any time soon, either.
Puffing her little cheeks out, she thought back to her mother and brother. She could easily make friends with her brother, but... She'd just have to leave him again. Well, not entirely. She was going to be spending a lot of time with him and mommy pretty soon. She shifted anxiously and let a frown appear on her muzzle. Did she even want to spend that much time with them? Sort of. It would give her a chance to make friends in the area. And no, because she didn't know how to talk to those two. Noma growled loudly to herself at her indecisiveness and rolled her own little eyes.
This was stupid. She should like her siblings, both parents. But she couldn't like Daddy right now. Not at all. He was probably leaving those days to go pursue this stupid female who stole her attention. And mother would give her attention, but not what she wanted. Her mother had an awkwardness about her, and so did Noma, so that probably wouldn't go very well if she tried to get affection. Sure, Noma's mother bathed them and everything, but that made Noma feel funny. Noma even slept away from her mother when it was time to sleep.
In all her musing, she didn't notice the time that had passed until her sister had returned and curled up next to her. "Thinking hard, Noma?" She asked, grinning a bit.
Noma greeted her with a grunt and leaned against her sister heavily. "Yeah..." And that was the end of that conversation. Noma was never a very good talker when it came to expressing what she was feeling.
With her sister here, Noma was warm and comforted, at least, for now. She'd probably discuss this with her later, the whole Daddy flirting, traveling and staying with mom business. Right now, Noma drifted off to sleep and didn't notice their father coming back and slipping around the two. But she did feel a lick to her head before she was out completely.
