The shop lays in a dark corner ally in Durem. It's rather low-key, no electrical lighting or neon signs. Ornate, oriental structuring, however, sets the shop apart from the mostly Victorian surroundings. Pillars painted in dark red and gold welcome you, two human-sized jade Fu Dogs guarding the front entrance. Paper lanterns illuminate the porch, and the scent of incense from the interior waifs into the street. The interior is dimly lit. It smells of tea and spices, and silk draperies hang from the banisters. The room is square, each wall containing a single glass display case.

On the north wall, a large Jade tortoise sets atop in the glass case. An intricately carved snake winds around the turtle and snakes down the side of the cabinet. Inside, a few statuettes of turtles, made of various stones, set upon plain heavy bases.

Similarly, on the south wall, an impressive firebird figure made of painted gold perches upon the case, its tail feather draping down to the floor. There are statuettes in this case as well, also depicting a phoenixes.

The east wall displays a case with a long, eastern dragon. Its fiery ruby eyes watch from atop the cabinet, its silver claws clutching to the top protectively.

The western wall is home to a wooden tiger perched high upon its cabinet full of feline statuettes.

An Asian man stands in the middle, his delicate fingers interlaced as he watches you. He looks surprisingly young, with a small, lean frame. His hair is black, and his eyes a smoky grey.

"Welcome to my shop. If you have found your way here, it must mean one of my wares is calling to you.

Welcome to Sentinels of the Four Winds. Here, you will find a very fine selection of statuettes. Don't walk away just yet, you see. These aren't just little tourist trinkets. No, these are guardians. They will protect your home and your family."

Sentinels are children of ancient gods, each hailing from a different kingdom, denoted typically by the direction of the wind. The gods have just recently began to allow their Heralds and Sentinels back to this realm tto live among the citizens. Sentinels are feirce and loyal protectors and companions. The Heralds are smaller and less magical, taking the shape of normal mundane animals and represent the twelve constalations of the Zodiac. Often, the Heralds will arrive before the Sentinels, "scouting out" suitable homes for their holy kin.

Pangu is a mysterious fellow. It is unclear if he is just a blessed peddler for the Heralds and the Sentinels, or if he is even human at all. Some believe he is a Sentinel himself, just in human form. However, there's no way to know for sure. He barely speaks, and if asked about his lineage, all he does is smile.

Heralds are creatures that come from the Kindom of the Wind, where the Sentinels are from. They represent the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac in mortal form. Heralds are chatty judegmental little critters, who like to "scout out" suitable hosts for their heavenly kindred.

They appear on our plane as mortal beings. They are normal size and have no magic. They do, however, have human intelligence and can talk fluently.

The Tiger and the Dragon have chosen alternate forms out of respect for Byakko and Seiryu...and the fact that Tigers and Dragons are hard to appear as "normal." They come in the form of a cat and a seadragon fish, respectively.

Collectable?
Heralds in large numbers can create very powerful force, often summoning a Sentinels from the Kingdom.

If a single Gaian collects one of EACH of the 12 Zodiacs, he or she can choose to summon a Sentinel (custom, to adult) OR they can grow an adult Sentinel into a Elder.

A Herald can only be used in one "Summoning' - when they used in the ritual they loose their ability to talk.

*"Special Edition" (such as Halloween or Christman) Heralds, or non-unique or series Heralds, cannot be used in summoning rituals.

Japanese: Seiryu
Chinese: Qinglong
Element: Wood, though said to also have control over Water.
Season: Spring

The Yin: Dragons are masters over their emotions, so sometimes come off as distant or cold. They tend to be prideful and a bit conceited at times.

The Yang: Dragons are extremely intelligent and slow to anger. They learn fast, especially languages. A worthy friend, a dragon judges himself by the company he keeps, so to befriend one speaks high for a person's character.

Misc: Though a dragon may be any color of the rainbow, they are generally attracted to the color blue and green. They love to read, and some gain the ability to control rainfall. They tend to be extremely playful as newborns, but learn by the time they are a few weeks old they have learned patience and control over their feelings. A dragon strives to never show too much emotion, for they know enemies will exploit passion as a weakness. This does not mean they do not feel very passionately, however.

Japanese: Suzaku
Chinese: Zhuque
Element: Fire
Season: Summer

The Yin: Known for their fiery tempers, they will let emotions, including jealously, anger, and desire, rule them. Can be stubborn.

The Yang: The firebird is a symbol of good fortune and tends to bring good luck to her friends. Passionate and easy to excite, phoenix are fun, gregarious friends.

Misc: It is said that a phoenix can take a piece of knowledge and make it a physical seed, in which a mighty tree will grow if planted. Of all the Winds, the southern bird has the closest connection with the east. Dragons and Phoenixes are usually drawn to each other and tend to become either lifelong friends, or bitter enemies. Phoenix's enjoy physical activity, including flying, and good food. Though known for their intelligence, wisdom is perhaps a better descriptor. They loathe lessons and studying, though tend to have a wonderful sense of "street smarts."

Japanese: Byakko
Chinese: Baihu
Element: Metal
Season: Fall

The Yin: Tigers are known to be harshly judgmental. They believe in war and other physical means as a way to overcome conflict. Not very "book smart" and thinks a keen intellect is overrated.

The Yang: Tigers are fierce protectors and known for their resounding loyalty. These majestic cats will be quick to defend the honor of their friends and family. The most physically agile and athletic of the Winds.

Misc: Tigers are slow to learn, and trust their own intuition over what is written in a book. They are very physical creatures, and strive to be strong and fast in order to protect the ones they love. They love metal things, including coins, and are attracted to the color white and the stone jade. Kittens have a difficult time learning human language, and even as adults they generally to not speak as well as the other Winds, but they tend to be more animated and confident in what they believe in.

Japanese: Genbu
Chinese: Gui Xian, Kuei Hsien, or Zuan-Wu

The Yang: Turtles are extremely patient, and by far the most intelligent of the Winds. They live to be ancient, and never forget the kindness of an individual. Non-violent, except in the most extreme of cases. Brings good health and long life to its friends.

Misc: Most turtles can speak human language naturally the moment he emerge from the idol. They have a close connection with snakes. Vastly intelligent, they are fond of herbal medicine and good intellectual conversation. They like the colors green and black the most, and like the finer things in life. Sentinels do not breed like normal animals. Each sentinel has three soul-shards they can use to bless a special block of marble. No one knows exactly where his shipments of holy marble come from, but at first it looks like a simple block of stone.

It takes four sentinels, one from each Wind (i.e. 1 bird, 1 tiger, 1 turtle, 1 dragon), to bless a block. When each sentinel has given the block a soul shard, new souls form inside. Pangu releases these souls by carving out statues from the rock. Each block will produce between four and eight statues.

A sentinel can breed three times in its life, one for each soul shard it has to pass. A sentinel must be an adult or elder. As Sentinels are genderless, gender of the four sentinels doesn't matter. Elders add +1 to the number of statues produced from the block. In addition, Elders can breed up to 4 times in their life.

Block of Marble - 20K
Available Blocks:
1. CLOSED

How to Order:
When all four sentinels are ready to breed, send this account ONE PM with all four sentinels' names and ID number and send this account one trade for 20K from the same account that send the PM.

What to do with the New Statues:
Each owner involved in the breeding can keep a maximum of one statue. Other statues may be given away as gifts, or auctioned by the shop at the end of the month. 50% of the profits will go back to the owner's of the parents.
