XoX Respect everyone in the thread: Golden rule. Both Yin and DHS coming from different shops that have had a bunch of drama, we do not want this. We will be strict about it.
XoX Don't steal the art. That means also no editing and no coloring. The line artist spent a lot of time and we spent a lot of money.
XoX Do not PM staff unless given permission. Try asking questions in thread first. If that doesn't work, try PMing the mule.
XoX No advertising, please. You've got plenty of sig space.
XoX Do not beg, whine, or ask for free pets.
XoX Do not resell your pets.
XoX Do not discourage others from buying/bidding, or use guilt tactics.
XoX Follow Gaia TOS.
XoX Roleplay is not required but very much encouraged Roleplay comes with lots of benefits, such as breeding.
XoX Do not pester staff about pending orders or growings. We have lives, even if you don't.
XoX During an event please read the rules CAREFULLY. Sometimes rules change to fit the specific event.
XoX Yin and DHS are awesome at all times. ;D
XoX Staff decisions are final. If you have any objections you'd be wise to either keep them to yourself or in a civil PM to the mule.
XoX Don't spam or bump the thread constantly. Talk and make friends instead! ;D
XoX Don't ask for a position as a colorist unless we've made an announcement that we are hiring.
exclaim New! XoX Do NOT beg for gold in this shop! I'm surprised I have to say this. It is rude and disrespectful to staff and thread-goers alike.
XoX Violating any rules can result in punishment, gray-list or worse result black listing. Don't make us have to do this.

...The pygmies originated long ago when they were an Asiatic species of lion living in a chain of mountains in the northern regions. Volcanoes were suddenly becoming active and part of the mountain ranges were being cut off from the lions' territories. Worriedly, they set off to create a haven for themselves so that their kind could live on in peace. They selected a mountain, worn to a flat plateau at it's peak, and created a spiraling path up to it's summit. Lions were free to come and go as they please, and were encouraged to settle families in it's safety.

But, what they had not expected, a volcano which had lain dormant for so many years it had been forgotten began to smoke and groan. This volcano was dangerously near their haven, so close it threatened to destroy the safe home they had created. When the volcano finally erupted they gave one last effort to save their race.

Any and all lions who had failed to form a family gathered. They formed a ring around the outer edges of the plateau-like peak, standing bravely against the threat. As the hot magma rose to overtake their home, they released themselves from their bodies to create a spiritual barrier that prevented the lava from overtaking the lands. The barrier lasted for three days, long enough for the lava to completely cool, and caused a ring of jutting rock around the haven. This was the final wall that blocked the lions off from the world.

Now, the haven wasn't very big, and was very cold. As the population regenerated itself, they evolved to fit their surroundings in a way that would mean they could survive longer. Their structure shrunk, fitting themselves to the lack of space and the smaller prey they were required to catch. Their fur coats became heavy and thick, and females even grew manes, much like the males, to protect themselves from the harsh weather. These tiny, bushy lions call themselves the Pygmies, and they welcome you to Pygmy Mountain.

Kit- Kits are cute and fuzzy little bundles. The jewels on their forhead, rightfully named spirit jewels, glow softly with their new life and growing spirits. They're usually pretty curious about their surroundings, and tend to be mesmerized when they see a spirit jewel that they like. Most are extremely attached to their parents. Kits cannot leave the den for the first couple weeks after birth. It is much too cold outside the warm of their insulated dens, and they would freeze.

Child- Pygmy children are high-energy and very curious about their surroundings. They often press their parents to allow more freedom for exploration, and are always looking for new adventures. Some are starting to decide what they'd be most interested doing with their life, but most just want to learn as much as they can and worry about the future when it comes. Their spirit jewels are stil bright, but no longer glow.

Adult- Adult Pygmies are very intelligent beings. Many are social and live in family groups, ranging from monarchies to wolf-like packs. Most seek mates and wish to start families, creating whole new generations of Pygmies to grow and learn. They are fully breedable in this stage.

Somewhere between the child and adult stage, some pygmies experience changes. These pygmies are considered blessed by the Spirit-Givers(those that created the spiritual barrier), and have taken on whole new qualities.

The most common blessed Pygmy is the Water Nymph pygmy. These creatures are very playful and inhabit the waters that web across the haven. Some are tricksters, others are merely innocently happy. The largest population of them live in the lake in the center of the mountain, but there are many yet who live in the rivers and lakes that branch away from the center lake. Water Nymph Pygmies enjoy the company of their own kind moreso that others, mainly because they cannot interact with others as easily.

The next most common blessed Pygmy is the Pure Spirit Pygmy. These pygmies are blessed with flight and are innocent and helpful beings. They do good deeds and like to make others happy. They tend to inhabit the mostly-snowy parts of the mountain, loving the bright, reflective purity of the areas.

The Tainted Spirit Pygmies are the least common. These Pygmies are blessed by those who did not want to give up their lives. They are given wings by those who encourage their solitary, sometimes rude and nasty behavior. The Tainted Spirit Pygmies want nothing to do with the kinder-spirited Pygmies. They're corrupt and seen as evil. Their wings do not grant flight, but instead they grant the ability to glide long distances near the ground. Most Tainted Spirits live near the volcano and in the dark parts of the forests.

Snow- Most of the mountain is covered in snow. Very rarely does this snow completely melt to show the grass and rocks below. Trees are scattered sparsely in these areas, usually needle-bearing-trees that do not go bare in the cold weather. All kinds of Pygmies make these areas their home, especially Pure Spirit pygmies.

Forest- The forested areas go through times where there is no snow covering the ground or trees, though there is still snow at times. Just like the snowy regions, the trees here are mostly needle-bearing-trees, but the occasion hardwood tree is found although their lives are short. Hot springs are scattered in some clearings in the forests. Many families make these areas their home, though Tainted Spirits and other dangers lurk in the darker parts.

Rock Cluster- The rock clusters very rarely have snow. The rocks absorb the heat too fast and melt any snow that might land on them. Dens are in abundance here, and there are many places to hide amoung the jutting boulders for the more faint-heart pygmies . Many family groups make their their home for the amount of available shelter.

Lake- The metropolis of the Water Nymphs. While many Water Nymph travel the rivers, the largest abundance of them are in the large lake in the center of the mountain. Under the water is a beautiful place. Fish swim in large schools and under-water foliage covers the ground like an aquatic forest. The lake never freezes over.

Volcano- the volcano has become newly-active, and keeps many pygmies on edge. It's very close to the haven, so close in places that you can walk from the volcano into the haven. Not many make the volcano their home, but the occasion Tainted Spirit makes a den there and braves the danger of the firey-mountain.

It is ALWAYS cold on the mountain! But the pygmies stay warm with their thick coats, which hold in heat given off by the sun! They are very well insulated, except for kits, which take about 2 weeks to fully grow the thicker under-layer of fur that locks in heat.

Ooolala. Have your Pygmies seem to have fallen in love? Well that happens. But what happens after that? Well kits normally do of course! (As long as they are ready for it.) So now if you are wondering where you can have this miracle of life happen? Well here of course! If you are wanting to get some children for your Pygmy you found the right place.

  • All breedings will result in 2-5 kits
  • Breedings are 10k. 5k from each owner or 10k from one owner.
  • Rare x Rare Breedings are 15k because all will be rare. However they will be a little harder to come by.
  • If you do a rare x normal breeding there still will be a chance that they kits will be rare. We roll 2-5 (Depending on the number of kits rolled) 6 sided dice. For every even number a kit will follow the mothers species for every odd number it follows the fathers species.
  • You MUST have 5 Finished RPies per parent, once RP must involve both parents. In other words there are no OCC breedings.

The Custom Rules
● Bribes are hard to come by and it really depends on the colorist. However, if drama comes up with Bribes, then we will stop the bribes. Thats all too it.
● Listen to what the colorist has to say. It may be a question or concern that's needed to be heard.
● Pestering a colorist about a pending custom is not recommended. While some colorists are more tolerant than others, it is still very stressful when people are constantly harassing them. On top of Gaia tasks, they have real-life situations that always come before the internet. So please, be patient.
● Do not bug colorists about opening slots. They will open them on their own time, not yours.
● Unless stated otherwise by colorist, haggling about price is unacceptable. Some colorists charge for their edits while some do not. Whatever the case may be, you must respect their decisions.
●If there is something you're not happy with about the final result of your custom, question the colorist in a polite manner!
● Most slots are first-come, first-serve. This usually works like a flatsale, where a "GO!" post will be made and requests follow. Some may posted differently however, pay attention to what the colorist has to say.
● You must send your custom trade after you have been confirmed your slot. Keep in mind that not all of the colorists will accept them right away, however.
