05-06-08 - Check out the new Donation Special found on the second page.
04-06-08 - Finally put up information on the fruit point system found on the second page. Hopefully this will encourage activity.
19-05-08 - Hey, guys. As circumstances have it, I no longer have a second job and, therefor, more time to have online. I'm sorry about my absence thus far, but my past situation was not good and the two jobs had me busy. I will be putting up a poll to see how many people would actually like me to reopen and continue running this shop. Based on the numbers I get, I'll open up breeding spots and take suggestions on further events.
11-03-08 - "I'm only going to be on for a little bit today to get information, do certings, and any other updates I need. A lot of things are happening in my life right now where I just can't believe I have such horrible luck. I'll get growings done by the end of this week but I'm going on a hiatus until my life gets back in order. I've never been in an actual depression before in my entire life, but after seeing the doctor yesterday, it's confirmed. Sorry I won't be around. But, like I said, I'll get the growings done within this week."
28-02-08 - Our opening event was a good start. A future event has been planned for a Gaia Evolving Items theme. A section about pet-trades has been posted.
23-02-08 - Thread up but not so much running. Information is being patched in slowly but surely. Welcome all lurkers!

Rules borrowed from Gate to Hespiredes.
1. Do not steal/trace/edit the artwork found in this shop! The artwork found here was paid for with real money and a lot of it.
2. Read the front page. Almost all the information you need to know is within the first page of this thread. However, if there is a question not answered in the thread, please pm 'mini_fossa' all your shop related questions.
3. Be respectful. Please leave the drama at the door. If you do not get along with someone, ignore them. Or, if have to say something to that person, please take it to pm's.
4. Take responsibility. If you're waiting on something from us, please check in frequently. We will not go out of our way to notify you or remind you of things.
5. Be honest. Honesty is the best policy and will receive its rewards. Cheating is not acceptable and anyone caught cheating will be instantly banned. It is not tolerated.
6. Listen to the staff. They know what they're talking about. And if they tell you to do something, it's best you do it.

1. What is a fossa? A fossa is a relative to the mongoose and is an exteremely endangered species found only on the island of Madagascar.
2. How can I get a fossa? If you mean legally, you can't. But if you mean in this shop, there are a few ways. The answer to this question is as simple as checking the 'availability' section.
3. How much do they cost? It depends on what kind you want and if they're available. Once again, check the 'availability' section.
4. Can I co-own a fossa with someone? I don't see why not. But the limit is two people per pet. Sometimes co-owning can cause misunderstandings and we don't want that.
5. Can I become a colorist here? Not at the moment, no. Fos does all the graphical work and until he feels the need to hire an assistant, there's no need.
6. Do you take pet-trades? Depending on the pet, sure. I'm not over-fond of bird or reptilian pets. Mammals are best when offering a trade.

The above image is colored like a typical fossa. This particular pet is not for sale.
The below information was taken directly from Wikipedia.
The Fossa is only found on the island of Madagascar (like many other unique animals that have been found there). In 2000, Luke Dollar (Mustelid, Viverrid & Procyonid Specialist Group) certified there were less than 2,500 mature individuals in fragmented areas in continuing decline. This certification earned the Fossa the status of Endangered (EN – C2a) by the World Conservation Union (IUCN). Previously, the Fossa was listed as 'vulnerable'. The Fossa is listed as a Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna (CITES) Appendix II animal, which puts restrictions on its export and trade.
The Fossa is a carnivore. It is a ferocious hunter that eats small to medium sized animals, from fish to birds, but is particularly adept at hunting lemurs, and is the predominant predator for many species, and only Madagascar's large snakes have any other significant predatory impact. Malagasy folklore often exaggerates the ferocity of the Fossa, claiming that it will prey on cattle or even humans. The fossil record of Madagascar has yielded the remains of a giant, recently extinct Fossa Cryptoprocta spelea. It was about 20% longer than big modern fossas and was about 6 feet long and weighed about 17kg. This species was believed to have preyed upon the larger, ape-sized lemurs that inhabited Madagascar until humans settled on island. The Fossa has no natural predators, but may be consumed incidentally by the Nile crocodile.

The below information was taken directly from Wikipedia.
The Madagascar dry deciduous forests represent a tropical dry forest ecoregion generally situated in the western part of Madagascar. The WWF has designated these forests as a Global 200 ecoregion, one of the world’s most crucial regions for conservation. These western dry forests are characterized by upper stories of deciduous canopy extending to a height of 14 to 30 meters, and lower stories with dense shrubs and saplings, which may also contain some evergreen species. Rainfall is decidedly less than the eastern lowland rainforests of Madagascar, attaining levels as low as 50 centimeters per annum in the southwest to 200 centimeters per annum in the northwest. Trees have adapted to the drier climate by shedding leaves in the dry winter season (May to September) to limit winter evapotranspiration. Moreover, some species like baobabs have adapted by evolving the ability to store copious water in their large bulbous trunks.
These dry deciduous forests of Madagascar possess a very high ratio of species endemism, although the absolute number of total endemics is less than the wetter eastern rainforests of the island. The elevation of dry deciduous forests here spans the coastal plain with its limestone plateaus emanating virtually at sea level to higher altitudes to 800 meters. Considerable anthropogenic destruction has occurred, decimating whole regions of the forest, almost all of which has been driven by subsistence farming. After clearcutting and burning, a residual sparse, sometimes sterile grassland savanna is relict. Because trees grow slowly in the rocky soils, regeneration time may be measured in centuries, but the toll of extinct species is permanent. Several distinct subregions are found within the western dry forest zone, several of which will be discussed separately here.
Summer daytime temperatures commonly exceed 30 degrees Celsius in all the Madagascar dry deciduous forests. One characteristic in common with other tropical and subtropical dry broadleaf forests is the presence of relatively high densities of mammalian biomass. Like these other dry forests, the Madagascar dry deciduous forests are sensitive to overgrazing and deforestation. An interesting feature of these dry forests is the presence of Pachypodium habitats, often associated with tsingy outcrops. There are numerous distinct forests within the biome, Madagascar dry deciduous forests; the following text treats three of these, selected for representativeness as to location and size.

Roleplay is not mandatory by any stretch. However, there are bonuses to being active in the shop with your pet. If you roleplay your pet and want to make an 'out of character' comment, it is polite to use some form of brackets so other thread-goers can take note that you are speaking out of the rp.

1. Breeding can only take place between two adult fossa. Any fossa younger than this is not within the breeding age and it cannot be done.
2. Breeding can only occur between a male and female fossa. Sorry for those of you who enjoy pairing homosexual creatures together. Unfortunately, breeding between the same sex cannot be done unless scientists step in and clone one of the parents. However, if you are set on having a homosexual pair, you can bribe a breeder for a cloning.
3. Mutated fossa cannot breed. Fossa that have been mutated in any way (ie: cosplays) are sterile. Breeding between them is not an option naturally. However, if you are set on having a cosplay breed, you can bribe a breeder for a cloning.
4. Fossa litters are around two to four pups. And litter size is randomly determined by the breeder.
5. How much do breedings cost? A common pair of fossa to breed is 10k, 5k per parent. A bribed breeding is 1.5mil, 750k per parent.
6. Why is a bribed breeding so expensive? Because the two kinds of bribed breedings are discouraged.

Purashi- Owned by DawnieChan.
Uncommon fossa are your extraordinary-colored animals. They have bizarre colors and patterns not found in nature. Uncommon fossa can be mutated very slightly, since they are some-what mutated already. Mutations such as change in facial expression. Trying to mutate an uncommon fossa further will cause the animal to become very sick and possibly die.

Iason Mink- Owned by monster_fossa.
Rare fossa are fossa that have been highly mutated to look like someone or something else. The common rare fossa mutation is the addition of hair and change in facial expression, as well as the added capability to wear clothes without hindering their movement. These fossa are also known as 'cosplay'.
These fossa are not available to the general public. The reason for this is because it takes a large amount of time and effort on the artist's part to add in the edits. If you must have one of these fossa, the price is extreme because ordering is discouraged.
Number of Stages: One
Bribe Price: 3mil
Stages of Life: Adult will appear as soon as possible after order
Breeding Price: 750k per parent
Litter Size: Two pups only

Pet Trades: Closed (But you can always ask)
1. We hold the right to refuse any pet-trade. If we do not like your pet, don't take it personally. We can be picky at times.
2. Trades will be made evenly. A pre-made for a pre-made, custom for a custom, rare for a rare.
3. Cosplays are not easily accepted trades. Your shop has to be something we really want a cosplay in for us to accept a cosplay pet trade. If your request is refused, once again, don't take it personally.
4. Mammals are preferred. When offering a pet-trade, it's advised you try to offer a pet that is a mammal. Reptiles, birds, fish, etc are no interest to us. Sorry.
5. Please pm mini_fossa all pet trade offers. Make sure the subject of your pm is 'Pet-Trade Offer'.
6. We do things fairly. If you offer a pet-trade and we accept, we expect you to be done with your end first. Like-wise, if we offer a pet-trade we will try to drop off your pet first. However, things may come up and priorities might push your pet down the list.

Below quote borrowed from Gate to Hesperides.
"Commissions are a fee for services rendered based on a percentage of an amount received or collected or agreed to be paid." In this case, they include premade, semicustom, custom, and bribe commissions.
1. Premade: You only get to chose a name.
5k- Adult
10k- Baby to adult
15k- Basket to adult
2. Semi-custom: Your choice of up to four colors, basic patterns, and 'hints' to pattern placement as well as gender.
20k- Adult
25k- Baby to adult
30k- Basket to adult
3. Custom: Complete custom of what you want. As many colors, patterns, etc. Depending on the complexity of your order will determine if the base price rises or not.
50k and up- Adult
55k and up- Baby to adult
60k and up- Basket to adult
4. Bribed custom: If there are no custom slots available, you can request a bribe. If you make an offer good enough, the colorist will accept. Your typical custom rules apply for a bribe slot. No cosplays are allowed.
100k and up- Adult
110k and up- Baby to adult
120k and up- Basket to adult
5. Cosplay: Complete cosplay of what you want. Full hair, clothes, edits, colors, etc. Depending on the complexity of your order will determine if the base price rises or not. Cosplays are not available through custom slots, but may be bribed. However, it is highly discouraged.
