OH MY GOD DARK WATER!
I was screaming and crying, all at the same time! terror and pity!
I was terrified by the music and the events, but at the same time, I knew why they were happening and so tears of pity for the poor dead girl dripped down my face even as i whimpered in fear in my laundry room in the dark.
and the end.... chilling and sad.

I read the original version and it just wasn't visceral enough.

I LOVE JAPANESE HORROR!
