Blank was wandering the edge of the mansion yard border by the forest. His job as caregiver was over dur to the pretty pup having grown into an adult, and he had nothing to do. It was nice to be able to get out of the house, but it was awefully quiet out here... He looked up at the sky, hoping he might spot someone up there by chance, sighed when the sky was empty, and pulled out two small bouncy balls, tossing them here and there, making them dissappear and reappear, practicing his ability.

Getting into a row with Pandora had not been Rinoa's idea to start an evening. Jumping off of the porch, her wings caught and carried her up in the air and she soared about aimlessly; eyes closed and hair blowing about in the wind. A familiar scent caught her attention and she brightened up at once. Finding a nice tree with a large enough branch to hold her a few feet or so from the ground, she laid down on the branch above him and let her hand hang down. She swung at him few times trying to hit at him and tried to keep herself from laughing each time she missed.

Blank was working smoothly until he caught a faint scent. The balls instantly tumbled from now clumsy hands and he spun a few searching circles. Could she really be nearby?
Suddenly, something whapped the side of his head. Danger?! He had to get rid of it before she got here, if it was her. Spinning and dropping into a defensive crouch with a growl, his hand snapped upward as he went down and grabbed at what had hit him, ready to pull it down with him.

She had to admit, she was thoroughly enjoying her game of toying with him and when she finally landed a blow, Rinoa let out a happy noise that sounded like a squeak of joy. However, the squeak turned quickly faded when she heard him growl. Had she made him mad? Her ears lay flat against her head and she covered her face with her unruly hair; suddenly upset that she had made him mad. That moment, however didn't last long and she let out a gasp of surprise as he abruptly grabbed her hand and pulled.
"Mr.Blank!" She cried out, teetering on her perch for a brief second before she rolled off and fell towards him.

Giving a good yank, Blank growled again at whatever he had grabbed. Then he heard her voice. He looked up to see Rinoa falling toward him. "Rinoa!" He yelped, reaching up to catch her. Once he had her, he held her tightly to his chest, scanning the tree for what the danger had been. How had it gotten Rinoa?!
He quickly realized... the tree held nothing, had held nothing but Rinoa. So she had been the one that... crap. His entire body burned with embarassment and shame. She must have just been playing. "Rinoa-I'm-so-sorry-I-didn't-know-How-long-have-you-been-there-I'm-so-sorry-Are-you-hurt-Are-you-okay-You-startled-me-I'm-sorry!!" He said in one breath as he carefully set her down, trying to look her over to make sure he hadn't hurt her.

She knew she wasn't that far at all from the ground and was far too close to Blank now that she was falling to use her wings and she prepared herself for impact but was extremely glad when she felt herself being caught. For a moment she was stunned about being pulled from the tree. She pushed that aside and slowly wrapped her arms around his neck and clung to him even as he set her down. After a moment or so, she moved away from him and took a deep breath to calm herself.
"Mr.Blank," Rinoa began, wagging her finger in front of him. "I almost had a heart attack from that. I thought that you were mad at me for hitting you..." She lowered her hand and began to rub her wrist from where he had grabbed her. "And I'm fine ...I'm just a little startled. What were you doing with those?" She asked, gesturing to the balls that he had dropped.

Blank took a step back from the wagging finger. "You and me both! Heart attack. Fhew!" He gasped, putting his hands on his hips to keep himself standing straight. He felt like falling over from the adrenaline rush. It'd been a while since he'd had one like that. He cocked his head slightly, looking at Rinoa. 'Danger- Good grief!' He scolded himself. Seeing her rub her wrist made him wince shamefully and he reached out to take her hand gently. "No, not mad at you. I thought- well, I didn't know you were there." He said. Why tell the girl he loved that she had made him revert back into his old fight moves on her?
He looked down at the balls blankly, having forgotten about them. "Huh?" He said dully to himself. Then it clicked. "Oh, I was just practicing. Keeping my ability in shape and all."

"I'm so sorry, I didn't plan on scaring you and I hope I didn't hit you hard. I really just wanted to surprise you. It's been so long since we've seen each other. I didn't think a normal hello was what I wanted but I think I'll stick with that next time." She allowed him to take her hand gently and she reached up her free hand and brushed her fingers lightly against the side of his face. Looking back at what he had been practicing with, she smiled somewhat and looked back at him excitedly."I would love to have your ability. You could become a performer."

Blank smirked slightly and kissed her wrist. "Naw. This thick skull of mine can take it." He rolled his eyes at himself, then patted her hand. "It doesn't have to be a normal hello... how 'bout we just leave out the sneaking up part though? Yes, it has been too long."
He smiled and tilted his head toward her fingers on his cheek. He cracked an eye open when she mentioned performing.
"Actually, I did used to perform. Before coming here, I was part of a traveling stage, putting on plays and such." He leaned down and scooped up the two spheres, juggling them in his free hand, enjoying her excitement.

Rinoa nodded her head in agreement to no more sneaking. She was just going to have to get even more creative with him. She smiled innocently at him but her eyes were gleaming mischievously.
"I promise Mr. Blank, I won't sneak up on you again. I'll just hug you next time. Is that better?" She asked as she continued to rub her fingers against the side of his face. Growing even more excited at his words, Rinoa watched him juggling highly amused with the show and she laughed and wagged her tail happily. "You never told me that..." She finally tore her gaze from what he was juggling and looked up into his eyes shyly. "Would you...someday, will you put on a show for me?"

I Love that scene of the game! Part of why I like Blank so much ^_^

Blank grinned at her clashing expressions and he pulled both their hands up to lightly tap her nose. "That sounds just fine." He said softly.
He shrugged. "Well, some of my memories seem to fade in and out. Only a few weeks ago I remembered about the stage ship." At her request with the tone of voice and eyes, Blank almost dropped his props again, saving face by using his ability to make them vanish away before they could completely fall.
He chuckled nervously. "For you? ...I'd do almost anything." He nodded. "If you wish for a show, I'll just have to start planning one."

She scrunched up her nose when he tapped it and stuck out her tongue at him. She let her other hand fall and she took a step towards him and gave him a quick hug, enjoying the contact of being close to him and not scared out of her mind like she had been earlier.Pulling back slightly, she nodded as she came to the realization.
"Yes, this a much better way of greeting." At the mention of his memories, she frowned slightly.
"That's the hardest part of being here; we lose almost everything of our pasts." She let out a frustrated sigh. "I have most of my own memories...some I wished I didn't have though. I'm glad you remember this though." She smiled at the thought. " melted completely at his words. "I'd do almost anything for you as well..." She felt herself beginning to flush and she coughed and looked away from him. "With magic that is..."
