x_x shiiiiit my desktop died when I had to restart it for an update today. Power won't even come back on to it. The other elder I'm working on is.... yeah, delayed. I'm just seriously crossing my fingers and hoping so bad that my hard drives didn't get wiped in the process.

All the important art files are on a secondary hard drive, not the primary so there's good hope they're surviving. Just the programs are on the primary. But I'm hoping it's the power source that failed, and not something bigger.

I hate when computers decide that they'll die right when you're doing something.
My old laptop enjoyed that.

Oh, yes. This desktop has died multiple times over the years using it. Granted, the only part of it that's even old enough to say it survived through every crash would be my D hard drive. I've had Motherboards fry, power sources, fans die very often in my machine. And I've had the C drive crash, and a motherboard dying that resulted in Windows deciding it wasn't a legal copy anymore, requiring a full new installation of XP Pro onto it and reinstalling everything. >_>;

This is what keeps me leery of upgrading, even now that XP support has ended. Aside from the various deaths my computer has lasted longer than any computer in this house running 7.

As long as it's just the power source that failed, then it should be fixed relatively quickly. Depending on the shipping speed of a new one.

I'm mainly just really ticked off about it. >_> I had everything but the shading done on Altair's elder form before I could declare him done and be nearly completed with my to-do list, and I can't even play itunes because that's also on the desktop, my laptop didn't have quite enough space for it with the software on it. Timing, man.
