For those of you who may have been around for Dragoil's original shop here, I have gotten her permission to attempt to revive the shop. We are starting with the Mogwai lines and we'll go from there! So, a big thank you to Dragoil for passing along the templates and just generally being awesome. heart

RULES



1. Obey Gaia's TOS. This rule should be self-explanatory.
2. No art theft. This is also self-explanatory, but just in case you need it spelled out - don't steal; these do not belong to you until you have paid for them. If you want a pet, get in here and join the events!
3. Please use these images within Gaia only. Dragoil has not given permission for these to be used elsewhere, and as she designed the lineart, it's her call.
4. PM ONLY THE MULE. Do not PM Dragoil, kookie_monzter, or any of the shop staff about the pets or shop-related questions. Doing so without being told to will result in you being blacklisted. All questions go to the mule [Memoirs Mule].
5. Be polite. Begging for a pet, being a jerk, or otherwise being rude is not okay. If you ignore warnings about these kinds of behaviors, you will be graylisted or blacklisted. Just be nice to each other so we can all have fun sweatdrop
6. Patience is a virtue. We will try to have pet colorations, certs, and growths out on time, but real life can and does get in the way, so there will be times when they are late. Don't be afraid to give us a reminder if you've been waiting a while, but please do be patient with us, as we're not making your pets late on purpose.
7. Ask questions! We're here to help. Don't be afraid to post in-thread or PM the mule if there's something you need answered. Just give us time to respond before asking again smile

STORY




Legend has it that one day, a child was out walking in the woods when he came upon a pond that shimmered and moved unlike any other pond he'd seen before. Curious and intrigued, he dipped his fingers into the water. It tickled his skin, and he giggled. The sound of his giggle echoed all around the glade. Startled, he pulled his hand out of the water and looked around quickly, but there was no one to be seen. He relaxed a little and touched the water again. His giggles echoed around him once more. He smiled. Hello! he shouted. The sound was deafening as the word was echoed in a round, filling the glade with voices. The boy sat and made more noises and words, delighted to hear them repeated back to him. He stayed and played in the glade all day. It was nearly sundown when he realized that dark was falling. He filled a bottle with water from the pond, corked it tightly, and dashed home. Whenever he was alone, he took out the water and played with it, teaching it words and phrases.


Several weeks went by, but one day the boy woke up and saw the bottle smashed on the floor. Dismayed, he rushed over to it. Sitting in the corner nearby was a fuzzy creature. Hello, friend, it said. Surprised, he stared openmouthed. You can talk?! the boy yelled. Of course I can. You've been teaching me words since you found our pond, it replied. Oh. What are you, anyway? the boy asked. I am a Mogwai.

The creature and the boy formed a fast friendship and grew up together. When the boy was old and passed away, the Mogwai returned to its pond. It filled corked bottles, just as the boy had done, and gave them to children, to love and nurture.

In honor of their ancestor and the boy, each Mogwai returns to the pond after its partner passes, and fills more bottles for new children.

We will hold flatsales, auctions, raffles, and RP events, among other things. Dice games and frankengames too, at some point.

Base price for single-stage, unedited flatsale/flaffle Mogwai is currently set at 5k. Prices may vary based on growing stages, complex coloring, edits, and/or accessories.

We currently have no sales, but customs are available! See page 2 for customs and upcoming events.

OWNERS




There is an owners list in the original Memoirs shop. I will honor those claims to Mogwai (and other breeds from the old shop, if we are using them). If you have the cert to your Mogwai and wish to be added to the owners list here, just PM me a request to be added. Owners from the old shop will be allowed to RP and breed their Mogwai here, just as if the old shop were still active.

ROLEPLAY




Please feel free to RP your pets in-thread. These pets are NOT rp-required, but if you do choose to RP, you may find that there are some rewards in it for you - more babies from a breeding, more detailed colorings, or other surprises.

I will set up a guild with a roleplay forum as we grow, to give you a place to log your plots and current/finished RPs.

These pets can interact with humans and speak our languages! Have your avi play with his/her Mogwai 3nodding

question How do I get one?!
Just like the other breedables shops, hang out in-thread and participate in our events. If they're lucky, people who are polite and who frequent the thread may end up with their very own critter as a gift from another Gaian.

question Why don't you have more events!
Right now, the shop staff is just me. As the shop grows, I will be happy to hire colorists and other staff members - but for now, we're small, and I color in my spare time.

question I want to color one. Can I?
You'll have to PM this account and talk to me about being a guest colorist. If you have samples of other work, or I know you from other B/C threads, I'll be happy to discuss the possibility of an event with you smile

question How do I get a custom?
I'll set up a customs thread, where you can post requests for your dream Mogwai when slots are open. Check page 2 for a link to the Customs thread.

confused Who hosts the images?
You do! Once you buy the pet, it's yours to use all around Gaia. I will keep the images in one place for a few weeks, but after that, they may be moved around.
