Welcome to the Matope Seasons of Greed 2 Event!
This event is a throwback to one of the first events we ever held, with kin all based on popular Gaia items!

If you're unfamiliar with the shop, click the image above to head over to the main thread and read up about the world of Matope and the Kimeti that inhabit it, as well as the rest of our shop's rules. It is especially important that you read up on the naming conventions for the world, as they are very specific, and if you do not know the rules then you might be excluded or disqualified from certain events.

This event will begin December 19th and end January 23rd.

NOTE: All contests and events end at 10pm EST unless otherwise noted.

A march parade is making its way through the thread, with 11 kin -- each with its own matching Jellyfish pet -- available for grabs through a paid raffle.

Tickets for this raffle are 10,000g each, and as of yet, there is no cap for the number you can claim, though we might add a cap later.

In order to buy tickets, please start by posting the below code in the thread and then send trade to Matope for the number of tickets you'd like with "#### TICKETS PLEASE" in the thread title [where #### is the actual number of tickets you're buying].

Due to inflation and current gold values on Gaia, here's a handy chart to help you ensure you put the right number of 0s in your trade.

During the length of this event, we're running a large scale raffle combined with an RP opportunity for our players!

The way this works is we are offering 12 prompts, which users can respond to in either multi-player RPs or in introspective Solo RPs. All 12 prompts will be open from the first day of the event [December 19th] until the end of the event [January 23rd].

As RPs are completed, players can claim their participation in the form of raffle tickets and RP points.

There can be something haunting about a melody: the human voice in song can be eerie and unfamiliar. So for these equally eerie kin above, we're asking you to write a song about a ghost/haunting. You can do this by actually writing your own music with lyrics, or you can just write the lyrics, or you can base it on an existing song [say 'to the melody of...'] so that we have some idea how you want it to sound -- the choice is up to you!

It can take any form, but our suggestion is that there be some kind of chorus, at least, since most songs have one....

There is a certain amount of love on Gaia for its NPCs -- so over the course of this weekend, we're running a short NPC-Inspired Polyvore contest!

In order to enter, you have to pick one of Gaia's numerous NPCs and head over to Polyvore to create a photo set inspired by that character. Please include, somewhere on your finished piece, both a picture of the NPC [we suggest their gaia avatar] and your username, so we know it was created by you!

The winner will receive an NPC kin semi-custom inspired by your polyvore as well as the NPC in question. You will give no details, those will be all colorist inspired, aside from gender and species

Entry: I was v v disappointed that the Sandman sans blindfold did not in fact have Corinthian-style mouth-eyes. I can't say I exactly understand what happened in the Christmas event, but I like to imagine Jack eventually finds her on Tumblr, running a blog with a lot of T-shirt/mini dresses and tacky eyeball accessories, luring victims into her eye-plucking lair with totally fake promises of soft grunge.

Childhood friends who moved apart at a young age met again in their adulthood and found that nothing had changed -- except that the bond between them had matured and grown over time.

For this contest, we're asking you to pair up and write poems written from each of these lovely ladies to the other. The format should be two poems each consisting of ten lines of rhyming couplets, and can represent any kind of relationship you'd like, although Rejam is extremely biased toward lesbians.

The other means complete destruction of everything natural, reducing the world to a wasteland, dead and dangerous.

Then I trip, or he trips, or we fall over a pothole, and then we're all tangled up in some vines at the bottom of a ravine, and then we hear footsteps, and I'm already kinda embarrassed and mad and then it's you, and you're always the one who catches me like that, and that...that just makes it worse, you know? Probably not. It was a hypothetical; don't look at me! Well, not actually hypothetical, because...anyway. I was getting off track. Where was I? Riled up? Oh yeah! But the thing about getting riled up - and I always do, around you - is that sometimes that makes it hard to see the...the, like, bigger picture. I mean, I know me, and I know you, and I know...Grumble, I guess, 'cause he's my best bro no matter what you might say. And I know we don't always have the same perspective on things. When I want to watch you, it's called peeping. By definition, my wanting to know where you are is not technically stalking. What I want to do to you qualifies as molestation, but such is life when you take the advice of my two furbies. You say misguided obsession, I say divine-driven need to thank you for your heroics with endless devotion. But in an effort to assuage your fears of my possible insanity, I've taken to grooming myself or at least taming this wild mane. Whether or not I was successful is subjective, but my hair has a lot more sticks in it and possibly a cactus. The cheetah thought tiny teeth would comb my hair better. Perhaps you'd like to unravel the craziness with my hair with your snaggletooth or horn like last time you rescued me from the mangrove roots during the flood. As my final beseechment, I just want you to know I am spiders-free now; they've left their roost. I won't tell anyone about your secret fear.

Ok, for some kin, getting a bunny is a lot like trying to find the path to Ascension: it suddenly constricts all other subjects of conversation. You like their furry tails, too? JUDGING:

While there are many well-known creatures in the swamps -- cranes and turtles, songbirds and foxbuns, even the elusive feathered serpents and jellyfish -- there are also many creatures that aren't talked about as much...

For this contest, we're asking you to invent some kind of creature that might be found in the swamps of Matope [or the plains, or the mountains, or the caves, or...] but that doesn't already exist in templated form at our shop! This can either be a normal creature, something that exists on Earth, or it can be something new. There are many creatures in Matope that are combinations of two earthly creatures [foxbun, owlcat, ramcat], and also creatures that are oversized [giant moth, giant wasp, mantises], or otherwise strange [furbies, flying jellyfish, dragons]. Creativity is encouraged!

If you're looking to see what we already have, many of our core animals can be found here, and many user-made animals here, but there are also some around that aren't on the lists -- whups! Just ask in the thread, and people will be glad to help out.

When you present your concept, you can do it however you'd like. You can use a short description, you can create some kind of visual representation like a drawing or photoshop or collage, or you could be more creative, writing a poem or a myth. The choice is yours!

First place winner will both have their creation made into a template for use by the shop [OPEN use; these creations will NOT be limited in any way] and win one of the lovely beastly kin above. Second, third, and fourth place will win kin, but we may choose to make more concepts a reality!
