Depending on the severity, you may get off with a warning or be blacklisted temporarily/permanently from Marionette! So take heed to these rules!


~ General Rules: ~

1. Obey Gaia's ToS.

2. Don't steal Darness246's, Face your demons, or anyone else's art. It gets you an instant black-list from the shop. This includes tracing the art! Tracing is NOT ART. Get that through your head, please.

3. Keep the major drama out. Nobody likes dealing with it, especially the Staff. However, if any of the staff of Marionette see fit, they will step in and deal with it by any means they see fit to use.

4. Re-selling is not allowed. Don't do it.

5. Co-owning is allowed, but only for two people.

6. Don't beg. This includes guilt-tripping or whining that you'll never have one. There will be TONS of chances to obtain a Candle, Bell, or whatever else we got in stock for the future.

7. You can PM staff members about questions, but not growths! Please don't bother us about those! But if you are owed a growth by one of the artists, feel free to PM the respective artist about it. Just remember to be nice with us, and we'll be nice with you~

8. Payments need to be prompt: generally within 24 hours. Make sure to send the payment to the proper artist who is hosting the flatsale or auction, NOT THE MULE! If you have issues with a payment, please talk it out with the artist.

9. Unless it says so in the thread, Marionette is not hiring, so please don't ask. Just keep an eye on the 2nd page or an announcement.

10. You may own as many as you like, and we will not take them away for inactivity. However, we implore you to be active, as your pet will never get to its fullest potential! It also makes us sad to see the pretty work we do never get used.

11. When we see people who only appear when there are free things or flatsales, it irritates us, and we will be less-inclined to reward them in the future. So if you want things, be active! Its rude and greedy to just come around when there's stuff about. We don't appreciate people who win and dash, it's just totally rude to those who were actually trying to win that pet and have intentions for them!!

12. No re-ownership, unless your pet is taken away because you've been BAD. However, if you decide you'd like to let someone else co-own later, just write who is allowed in your pet's journal. This is because people like to hassle the artist to re-name and etc., and it gets quite agitating. Sorry!

13. Please take any lovey-dovey RP into the guild, thanks!

14. Have fun, guys, its what we're here for. Yes, this is a rule. FOLLOW IT. Everyones allowed to have off days, and yes, drama is always lurking around, but remember that we're all here to get a good laugh and a little bit love and a lot of fun! So play nice guys, and enjoy yourselves.

* Question: WHY WASN'T MY QUESTION ANSWERED IN THE THREAD?
~ Answer: Sometimes it's hard for staff to catch all the questions being asked, particularly when none are online. THE BEST WAY to get your questions answered in a timely manner is to either PM Darness246 directly, or the mule (no question is a stupid question, and all will be answered with the same amount of courtesy and respect as the rest)!

* Question: HOW DO I GET A MARIONETTE?
~ Answer: There are so many ways to go about getting a Marionette! The most common of which are flatsales, semi-custom/custom openings, and events. This is explained in detail down on the Availability section. We will be holding a flatsale at least once a month, if not more, so keep your eyes peeled and stick around! Theres a lot in store if you keep tight.

* Question: WHAT'S A MEMORY?
~ Answer: A Memory is what the Marionette/Puppet remembered during it's living lifetime before is passed. A good example is our NPC Marion; She became a Puppet and from what she remembers, her Memory is called "Darkly Hallows." Since it's such a dark sounding memory, she was then made into a Puppet. Yes, you can affect if you obtain a Marionette or Puppet by it's Memory name. We in the end get to choose what it will be though, unless it's a Full-Custom.

* Question: WHEN DO SEMI-CUSTOMS/CUSTOMS OPEN?
~ Answer: Good question! Semi-Customs are going to try to be opened frequently in the grand scheme of things. We're going to most likely open a few slots every month of so, so watch out for that. Depending on workloads, they will most likely be opened near the end of every month, if not at the beginning of a new month. This, however, is subject to change, but dont worry, we've got a lot in store for everyone. Customs will work the same way, except these will be only paid in RL $.

* Question: WHY ISN'T MY PET GROWING?
~ Answer: Your Candle or Bell will grow to it's next form in 2 weeks. Patience is key! Since all of our child and teen forms aren't templated, it takes a bit of time for us to work on the next stage of your pets' life! Rest assured, we will try to get your pet done on time. Once you purchase a "Love Blessing" from the shop in the Guild, it will then take 4 weeks for your Child pet to grow into a Teen that will then be able to breed. The special form is only unlocked through 2 special items though; obtain those, and your teen can grow to this new, rare form!

* Question: HOW MANY CAN I HAVE?
~ Answer: As many as you like! We don't have a set limit here, so if you want 10 + Marionettes and the sort, go right ahead! Just be sure you have the gold for all those pretty babies you'll be getting! We just ask that in events that you try not to hog them all. Everyone deserves a chance at receiveing a pet!

* Question: WHY ARE THESE PRICES SO EXPENSIVE?
~ Answer: These pets include 3 stages along with a special 4th stage: unlocked through having 2 special growing items - and are all unique lineart stages except for the Infant stages. Everything is uniquely drawn and no two pets are the same. Because of this, and the easy ability to grow them, the price's are actually quite reasonable depending what stage of pet you're getting.

* Question: IS ROLEPLAYING REQUIRED?
~ Answer: No, it is not required, but it is definitely encouraged! Roleplaying counts heavily towards your activity, and it makes us see your character in more light. This helps us get it right in the art for it's next growing, as well as give us all something to go off of. Also, a special stage can be unlocked through 2 special items, but its still a mystery for now~

* Question: CAN WE INFLUENCE OR EDIT OUR PETS APPEARANCES?
~ Answer: Yes you can, but unless your pet was bought as a bribe, you will have to influence their appearance through buying items at the Repair Shop over in the guild. Despite this, the overall appearance is still up to the artist. If your pet was bought as a bribe, then you will have small influences over how it looks in it's stages, but the artistic freedom still goes to the people doing your pets' artwork. Now if you happen to order a custom pet, then by all means we will work our best magic art skillz to make sure we have your pet the EXACT way you want it to be!

July 8th, 2010: July 5th's "I wish I was an animal" FS and tektek games are over! Thank you to all who participated, can't wait for your pets to grow! June 10, 2010: Parts of the Marionette Guild are open: Shops and Journals. ALSO: Since we do not want to spoil the surprise of the next growth stage, Marionette's Photobucket is now locked down. You will be unable to enter and view! BUT; no worries! You will still be able to pick up your certs in the drop-offs/owner's list, and the uncerts to your pets will be in the guild as well. The uncerts link on page 1 will now lead to the uncerts thread in the guild. Thank you for your understanding~

[Marion the Marionette]

"Let me tell you the story of how our kind came into existance in this world. The Grand Father and Mother of Marionettes and the Creator of Puppets..."

"The Marionette and the Music Box."

Long ago, there was a part of the world that was unknown to many mortals. In fact, hardly anyone knew of this secret place, but that's because it was not part of the mortal world. It was a different world, a sort of eternal immortal place. This place was black and white, devoid of any color; a white and black wasteland of twisted trees and emptiness stood still without a single sound, without even the slightest breeze to cause some sort of stir. Among the dark black twisted figures of the forest stood a black castle. It was menancing, and quiet as the dead. But it was here that this whole story started; where the Marionettes and Puppets were born.

This land and world was simply known as 'The Fringe.' The fringe of all worlds, so it was told. This was what mortal people called 'purgatory' and the sort. An eternally white and black world, where you could not even hear a lost soul scream for help if it was being torn apart by the ghastly creatures that hid in the inky darkness. It was a scary place, terrible and cruel. Even the owner of it all was the same way, as he abused his one and only servant: a skeletal Marionette. A puppet. Day in and day out, the Marionette, as he was called, was smacked about, had apple cores thrown at him, and was commanded to do whatever his master pleased. Of course he went about doing his master's business since he was a servant, after all. But as the long stretched years went by, the Marionette longed for emotion's that were unavaliable to him: to see some color; the light, to live a real life. Most of all, he yearned for a companion, someone to relate to, quite possibly even... love.

One day that time came eventually in his life where, even though his luck did not change about his master abusing him, his luck changed for the better. A beautiful Marionette Doll was found on the doorstep of the castle, and she was the one who held a light in her; color. She had color to her! No headache-inducing whites or blacks! She had smoothly pale grey skin. Her hair was a deep, bright brown and straightly cut across her bangs and ends with a black headband fitting her head. the shiny satin dress she was found wearing was sapphire blue. Most importantly in her chest was a hole cut-out in the shape of a heart. Glass covered it, but inside he could see the mechanics of a music box. She was a Music box Marionette, how lovely! The skeletal Puppet snuck the unknown doll into his masters' castle and hid her in his quarters, hoping she would awake and be able to keep her as his companion. To his dismay, she never did awake. He could not figure out why, though. After searching through books, his thought, his frustrations, he felt like a fool when he did find the solution: all she needed was a simple wind-up of her music box to awaken.

When she did, it was a glorious day for the Marionette skeleton! He and she spoke to each other day and night the moment she woke up, though he eventually found that she did not have a name to go by. No name? He was simply called Mari, for short, but he was not sure what to title her by. so to his head came her name, 'Musica.' Musica liked her new name very much said she would stay by Mari for as long as need be. even if in the Fringe, it would be forever. Throughout the months, Mari was happy and ignored his master's constant abuse. even when an apple was lodged at his head, he simply smiled and continued his duty. He had Musica to look forward to every night he returned to his chambers to sleep, because now he had a friend. As time moved on, eventually, he looked at Musica as more than a 'friend,' but as a lover. Overtime, the master of the Fringe granted the Marionette a real body shell as opposed to the old, beat up skeleton he was. After the soul transfer, Musica could really see how he was suppose to be. Mari decided then that it was time to tell her how he really felt for her.
"Musica, do you like what you see?" he asked shyly, his new red eyes looking at her blank glass orbs. She looked him up, then down, then up again,
"I loved what I saw from the start of when I first opened my eyes here."

The master had found out about the Marionette's alleged lover, but did nothing about it. He figured that his servant deserved a little love after all the abuse he had put him through. Over a small amount of time, the Marionette and Music Box had 3 children marionettes. These 3 girls became the most important beings in the Fringe, besides the master. Musica dubbed them Love, Light, and Life, and eventually to the Fringe and mortal world came these things. Soon enough there was no hatred, but love. There was no black and white shadows lurking, but color and light to show the way. There was no death, or fear of it as life took over. The 3 girls parents were very proud of them for their well-doings. All was well in the fringe now. But the master of the Fringe disagreed...

The master crafted the opposites of the 3 Marionette girls to counteract their blessings from their Mother and Father. He created Puppets; sad, dark, and ultimately angered creatures blessed by himself. He wanted the Fringe back to it's old ways. The master created Despair, Darkness, and Death. He sent the 3 puppet girls as his new servants to his bidding in returning his world the way it was suppose to be. Mari and Musica did not want this, and with their 3 girls in hand ran away and escaped into the mortal world before the Puppet Goddesses could wreak havoc upon their precious little family. In the mortal world, they were found to be loved and adored by the people. Accepted, though they were not fully human. It was there that the Marionette, Musica, Love, Light, and Life stayed. The mortal world was blessed by the 3 daughters of Mari and Musica, becoming revered as Goddesses themselves.

Now all Marionette's are created by Light, given their first breath by Life, and surrounded in tender arms by Love. It has been this way since Mari and Musica came together and created these 3 Goddesses. As for the Puppet Goddesses, noone is too sure of them, but it is still known that they thrive in the Fringe with their master, continuing to create Puppets of their kind to ruin that happiness that the mortal world now has.

"I am the one who passes this story on to each Doll and Puppet that is born into this world; good or bad. It is my meaning to do so. I am Marion, the Light-Walker. Come with me... we have much more to speak about..."

[Marion the Marionette]

Marion: Marion is the midway point between Light and Dark. She was created by the Puppet of Darkness with many memories stored inside her, but the Marionette of Light saw more use for her and blessed her with Light, whisking her away from the Puppet Goddesses. She carries a candle and lights the way on Earth for new Marionettes and Puppets in leau of the Marionette of Light.

Marionette of Love: The first born daughter between the Marionette and the Music Box. She is romantic and loving, even towards Puppets and her enemies, blessing whoever chooses to accept her with the same open arms as she has. Love judges noone by heart and though there are many that hate her in the Fringe, her motto is "Everyone deserves Love." Her Unblessing holds the opposite part of that balance.

Marionette of Light: The second born child of the Marionette and Music Box. She creates new Marionettes on Earth and helps them see by their form of a simple candle and flame. She is the one who took Marion under her wings and blessed her with light to help those future Marionette or puppet souls in need, as Light judges noone by heart just as her sister Love. Carrying a key about with her, her Unblessing holds the opposite part of that balance.

Marionette of Life: The third born daughter between the Marionette and Music Box. Life is the most quiet of her sisters and will not speak unless it need be. She gives her sister's candles the life they need by leading a soul to them, thus helping to create a new Marionette. She feels no need to judge anyone, as everything deserves a chance experience life itself and to it's possible fullness. Her Unblessing holds the opposite part of that balance.

Puppet of Despair: The first puppet created by the master of the Fringe. Despair feels exactly what her name means; in despair. Constantly depressed and suicidal, she convinces others into taking the leap of death for her since she is unable to. Caught up in her own personal puragatory, she constantly sobs and cries at the thought of being unloved and loathes her opposite for having what she does not. Her Blessing holds the opposite part of that balance.

Puppet of Darkness: The second puppet created by the master of the Fringe. Darkness is the schemer of her 3 sister puppets. Always thinking of some way to throw the mortal world into chaos and darkness in hopes of creating a new Fringe for her Father-figure, the master. She despises her opposite Light and intends to create dark candles to overcome the light candles being born. Darkness has a lock on her dress, her Blessing holds the opposite part of that balance.

Puppet of Death: The third puppet created by the master of the Fringe. Death is the maniac of the group with a huge appetite for bloodbaths. She helps her sister Darkness in making puppets to destroy Marionettes by leading corrupt souls from the Fringe into their new puppet bodies. She hates Life and wants to destroy all of it, even if it means killing herself. Her Blessing holds the opposite part of that balance.

"In this world there are 3 types of possible Marionettes avaliable to the mortal kind. We are either companions, servants, workers in everyday life, or slaves. It all depends on how you wish to treat us and use us. Let me help clear up your confusion."

Marionettes: Marionettes are the Dolls created by the 3 Marionette Goddesses. Born from a simple candle and flame, they eventually grow into loving companions and become great helpers in almost anything you wish.

Puppets: Puppets are the Puppets created by the 3 Puppet Goddesses. They are born from Dark Candles, though you can't tell they're dark ones since they blend in with regular ones. The only way you'll find out is when it grows! Puppets are sad, angered, and dificult to control as opposed to Dolls, but can become loyal if conditions are met with them.

Plushies: Plushiea re companions creted by both the 3 Marionette Goddesses and the 3 Puppet Goddesses. Made as a snuggly companion for children, these squishy Plushies can't do much at first except be there for comfort in little arms...

Candle (Infant): This infant is but a simple candle, or so you think. This candle was given to you by the Marionette of Light herself! Keep the flame safe and don't let it go out!

Marionette/Puppet (Child): The Marionette of Life has answered your wish! That little flame has burst into it's first physical form; a Child. It seems to be some sort of doll, how cute! Perhaps your little dolly will learn, make new friends, and grow.

Marionette/Puppet (Teen): Would you look at that, that little doll has grown up into a Teen! It's now old enough that it can be blessed by the Marionette of Love. Perhaps if it's found that "special someone," that blessing is right for you.

???: We have no clue what this stage could be, as we've only heard stories of how some dolls or puppets are finally able to live on their own and away from their caretakers. Though usually most won't because of their loving memories of you. Of course, those are only stories we've heard...

Bell (Infant): What a shiny little bell you got there. It just seems to be an ordinary bell, but do not be fooled! There is some sort of life to it, as the Marionette of Life can just feel it waiting to burst out!

Plushie (Child): Gasp! That little bell turned into a adorably soft plushie! Just look how cute it is! don't you wanna huggle it to death? Hopefully not literally! Plushies come in all shapes, colors, and sizes.

???: We have no clue what this stage could be...

Curious on the ways that you'll be able to recieve your own Marionette or Puppet? we offer them in all these ways listed below. Whether it be through Events, Mini-Events, or just purely out of the blue, there will be many chances to nab your own Marionette!


FLATSALE PRICES
Candle (Infant): 8k (8000 GG)
Marionette/Puppet (Child): 20k (20,000 GG)
Marionette/Puppet (Teen): 30k (30,000 GG)

Bell (Infant): 5k (5000 GG)
Plushie (Child): 8k (8000 GG)

Flatsales: The most basic way of receiving a Candle/Bell. There will always be at least 1 Flatsale per month. Sometimes there will be a random flatsale that'll happen in thread as well! It just takes luck to be in the thread at that time.

Auctions: Auctions are usually for more rare or extravagant-made pets, such as cosplay's or heavily drawn pets. Of course, you better make sure you got the gold to pay for these babies! they never come cheap.

Raffles: Raffles take a stroke of luck in order to win the pets being showcased. Tickets are usually what is needed to purchase your shots with winning. Don't worry, our tickets are priced at 100G and below, never higher than that!

Flaffles: Flaffles are also a test of luck and money, but you only pay for the pet after you win! Flaffle entrance is usually free, but the cost of the pet isn't. Be sure you have the gold to afford if you're the lucky pick.

Contests/Prompts: Contests will only be popping up during Events. Whatever the contest is, do your best to follow it to a T and win!

Games: Games will appear either in thread or during events! It's just a lil' surprise that will pop up! Follow the rules of the game to win a pet.
