so i'm slooowly inching my way along towards joining Lab at some point, and i have a question about creating a non-owner/hopefully-someday-guardian character! :V in the guidelines it says that character races have to be Gaia-friendly; right now i'm adapting a character from a tabletop game for the setting, and i was wondering whether gnomes would be considered acceptable in this case? more like Dungeons and Dragons gnomes rather than garden gnomes, but i'm pulling from a few different sources in fleshing out gnomish culture for a Gaian setting lol :'V i just wanted to check that this would be okay within Lab!

D&D gnomes are like children-sized right? Like above waist-height of regular human? Not like the gnomes from Warcraft? XD It SHOULD be alright as long as it's semi-fleshed out and would work in a Gaian world.

yeah, D&D gnomes are between 3-4 feet tall, so definitely closer to human-sized than WoW gnomes, haha. :V i'm still in the process of putting together a Gaia-appropriate version of a gnomish race, but what i have in mind is not super different from humans, physiologically speaking-- just smaller, with larger/pointed ears and a bit longer lifespans, and a different cultural background, but no more magical than the average human.

Hello, hello -- So glad to see this place is still alive! I've been stalking Lab for several years and ended a handful of contests with honorable mentions but never really stuck around. After an incredibly long creative slump, I'm finally confident enough to develop a non-owner character and attempt to socialize. I hope that's okay. sweatdrop
