GENERAL
Personality Traits:
+
Observant: Jace notices things. He notices the changing mood of a person in their body language or facial features and the imperfections in their skin, these are things Jace takes note of and keeps in his mind. He’s quick to look at his surroundings, noting landmarks and escape routes incase something goes wrong, and he holds these images for a long time making him handy when it comes to navigating vaguely familiar places. Things you like? Jace has made note of them. The time you spilled coffee onto your crotch? He remembers the face you made when it seeped through your pants. His observation comes with a price, though. Jace tends to mix things up on occasion, the turn he thought was supposed to be there was actually one street back, or the eye color he remembers someone having was actually their sister’s.
+
Charming: Jace is quite the likeable cat-person. He can be friendly and polite, and he’s relatively gifted at pretending to be interested in what someone says even when it’s really boring. His attitude is that of the pleasant newcomer. That person who makes the rounds and makes sure to say hello and ‘excuse me’ to people as he passes them or bumps into them. If he’s genuinely interested in what you’re saying, he’ll take note of it for later and surprise you with the details when you least expect it. If caught in his act, Jace tries quickly to rectify the situation, giving off apologies he may or may not mean in hopes of not causing too much of a fuss or ruining the already charming impression he made on the person.
+
Confident: Jace walks with a bit of a strut that he doesn’t realize he has. With his head held high, Jace makes his way into a room with either his best genuine or mustered smile and proceeds to try and own the place as if it never lacked his presence. He goes into situations or projects with his head firmly above water, believing that he has accomplish his goals with little miscalculation or error. At times, Jace’s confidence borders arrogance and the charm he tries to bring to the table whether in a social or work setting is viewed like a stench following him.
-
Impulsive: Jace has a tendency to jump the gun sometimes. He’ll take on a task without knowing the full details of what it will be and finds he doesn’t quite like what he’s doing, or he’ll eat that thing sitting on the counter without asking if it belong to somebody. His impulsiveness tends to revolve around decisions that don’t deal with monetary values and instead with potentially screwing something up for people in general. If he doesn’t like the task he hastily agreed to, Jace tries his best to jump ship immediately on all involved. He feels their bad view of him is more acceptable than being tortured by doing something he doesn’t like. If he can’t get out of it, he tends to drag his feet and put half as much thought and effort into the task. If he’s caught being ignorant, eating someone else’s tuna, he quickly tries to use his charms to rectify the situation. If that doesn’t work and he finds himself close to being thawed, he’ll apologize.
-
Picky: In the instances where Jace hasn’t impulsively said yes to any question presented to him, he tends to scrutinize and be nitpicking over everything. He likes to sit there and tell you exactly why he should not be doing something, or why you shouldn’t be doing something or how you look fat in those pants and shouldn’t be wearing them. If he doesn’t like the way his food was made, he’ll tell you. If he thinks your plan is stupid and is going to get them all killed and he doesn’t want to be apart of it, he’ll tell you. When he hasn’t already roped himself into something, then he doesn’t like to settle until things are his way. He gets huffy if someone tells him his way isn’t the right way, or if his opinion is lesser and tends to make a stink of it.
-
Frivolous: Jace is not very serious about things unless they directly impact him. Oh, you tripped and twisted your ankle? No big, you’ll recover. You lost your wallet on your way to work? Maybe you should have kept a better eye on your things. Whatever the situation, if it doesn’t directly impact Jace in some way then he doesn’t take the consequences or the situation itself very seriously. Deadlines are just suggestions unless someone gets on him about it, and being told not to eat someone’s sandwich is a passing pleasantry he’ll muse before he eats it.
Hobbies:
-
Cardboard Box Performance Art: As a cat, Jace likes to play in and destroy anything box-like. He’s particularly fond of bardboard boxes, the corrugated kind, and likes to make a gigantic mess out of those all over whoever’s floor. They’re clean it up because he’s a cat and they’re a human, right? Right.
-
Card Games: And not the kind that encompass 52 Pick-Up. Jace likes to play tabletop card games like Magic and Cardfight Vanguard. It lets him be observant and ruin someone’s day all in one go. Sometimes he even likes the destroy the cards, but that’s usually after his confidence faltered and he got his behind served to him like a filet.
Favourite Food: Steak
Least Favourite Food: Unknown
Family: N/A
Prompt:
Jace cleared his throat before stepping over the carpeted line that separated the hallway from Hester and Liliana’s room. He wasn’t sure whether or not his plan was going to work, but he knew he needed to try. All he wanted was out of this apartment. Somewhere nice, somewhere warm, somewhere that didn’t have any snow. He was really not fond of that snow stuff.
Putting on a bright smile, he moseyed his way to where Hester and Liliana sat snuggled up in the blonde woman’s bed. Surely even she needed a vacation from this place. From the fighting and the bruises and the dealing with Liliana’s temper tantrums. His idea, in his mind, was perfect and he knew that if he phrased things right then surely the blonde woman would see things his way and take him away from this cold place.
“Evening ladies,” Jace mused, seating himself on the floor next to the bed.
Liliana and Hester looked down to him simultaneously, already weary of their roommates shenanigans. Both knew him well enough by this point to know that when he made an entrance like this it meant he wanted something from them. The real question was what exactly he wanted. Some times he just wanted to bother them for the sake of bothering them, others he wanted something specific and would be a brat if he didn’t get it. Their looks resonated with suspicion.
“What do you want Jace?” Hester asked, shifting slightly and moving Liliana out of her lap.
“Hey, I was sitting there,” The female guardian whined as she tried to reclaim her spot, only to be shoved off again.
Jace sat up straight and gave the blond woman a grin, “Why. Whatever do you mean?”
She already knew he was getting at something and he could see it in the way she shrugged Liliana off. This was not good. He needed her to do what he wanted and not what she felt like. Liliana got her way quite well with the girl, so clearly he could too.
“Well, you see… This place has just been so confining lately and it’s driving me a bit mad. You’ve probably been feeling it too. All that senshi business, no time to yourself, dealing with
her,” Jace said, giving a quick look to Liliana as he stressed her presence, “I figured you and I could use a break. Get to know each other better. After all, you did let me come live with you and everything.”
“
Liliana let you live with us,” Hester said.
“Yes, I let you live with us,” The other cat guardian commented, not sounding happy at being labeled the third wheel.
“Yes,…Yes. Sorry.
Liliana let me live with you, but you’re the one who has had to pay for me! Not her,” He said, “And I figured we could get away someplace. You know, go on a trip.”
Jace groomed himself as he carefully studied Hester’s face for signs of a losing battle, but was met with a rather unamused looking lady. He could feel his plan failing and he twitched his tail annoyed at the thought. She should be seeing things his way. He’d been such a good house mate. Eating the food left out on the counter that people forgot, bringing art into their world. All of these were good things clearly.
He sat there in silence as Hester watched him for a few moments, finally shaking off her stone appearance and cracking her back with a sigh.
“Actually, I am planning on taking a trip to get away from here for a little bit. Would you care to join u-”
“YES.” Jace interrupted pleasantly, standing up quickly with a purr, “Excellent. This is fantastic. When are we going?”
Hester gave him an annoyed look, but answered him anyway. She could forgive excited rudeness for the moment, “We are leaving next week on Wednesday. You’ll have to share a cat carrier wi-”
“Ah. Excellent! This is good. Getting away from this place for a little will do everyone some good,” He said smugly, turning away from Hester and Liliana. “I’ll go pick out some of the things I want to take with me. It’ll be a good time.”
“I’m glad you’re so keen on seeing Pennsylvania,” Hester said, sighing.
“Where?” Jace said, turning back to her.
Pennsylvania. Wasn’t that north? …That was the place with all the snow.
“Yep. We’re going to go see my parents. You might want to pack warm and only the essentials. You’ll be sharing a cat-carrier with Liliana.”
Jace felt the sudden sting of regret as to what he just agreed to and slowly made his way out, chuckling slightly, “Ahh. Yeah… About that… You, uh. You girls have fun… I…I’m not really fond of the flying thing.”
