Many eons ago a terrible mistake was made - in their quest for power, the breed known as the Nightmare Kitsusagi brought down a curse upon themselves forevermore. In their efforts to break that same curse, and to gain the powers 'owed' to them by the gods, another terrible mistake is about to be made... one that could destroy the harmony and balance of everything.

Will you decide to rise up against this terrible atrocity? Or will you seek to help bring it about?

Welcome to the Realm of Kitsusagi's Angelic Vs Nightmare RP Event thread! If you have just stumbled in here and are unsure what a Kitsusagi is, clicking on the banner will take you to the main shop. Anyone is welcome to apply for this RP event whether they be newbies, Kitsusagi owners, or thread regulars. However, some rules will apply and you should scroll down to read them. Prizes and an overview of the event will also be listed below.

This event will open starting September 7th 6pm PST / 9pm EST. RP Event signups close on September 14th, 6pm PST sharp. The RP itself will run from then until approximately 21st - 23rd September. Stay tuned to this post for changes.

exclaim You are trying to win one Angelic, or one Nightmare Kitsusagi by your RP skills alone. You may only win one, or the other. Not both.
exclaim Graphics have been provided for you to show what kind of design you would like on your pet. People caught stealing the free graphic to use for their own purposes later will be severely dealt with.
exclaim You may decide what colour/pattern is to go on your Angelic/Nightmare and you may indicate this with the free graphic given. Lineart edits will be minimal (such as a change of haircut, and/or accessories such as a collar or jewellery), no Cosplays are allowed to be requested. You may NOT badger or intimidate the colourists to get every single tiny thing right if you win. If you win, please do not harass the colourists in thread to finish your pet faster. Any colourist who feels intimidated by you reserves the right to not colour your pet at all and to select another winner entirely. This is a free prize. Do not take it for granted.
exclaim If you have two or more Nightmares (total ownership, not per shop basis), you are inelligable to participate in the Nightmare side of the RP event. Anyone caught breaking this rule will be disqualified.
exclaim If you have two or more Angelics (total ownership, not per shop basis), you are inelligable to participate in the Angelic side of the RP event. Anyone caught breaking this rule will be disqualified.
exclaim You will have a limited amount of time to officially express interest in RPing (use the form below) and to choose your side of the war (Nightmare / Angelic). Once you have chosen a side to play on, you may NOT switch out and try out for the other side. People caught editting their form will be disqualified. So, CHOOSE WISELY.
exclaim Godmoding, powergaming, plot deviation (ie: your character trying to steer out in a different arc from the plot), and overpowered characters warrants an immediate disqualification.
exclaim The GMs are God in this RP. OOCly disputing their decisions on plot movement also warrants an immediate disqualification.
exclaim If you have no intention of winning the RP prizes, you may feel free to enter existing Kitsusagi. You don't need to fill out a form for them, just jump in when the action starts.

The Story Continues...

A Nightmare's Tale

A Blood Feud of Old...


"The darkness within you corrupts you, yet you do not care. May it show on the outside now as well as within."

Eons had passed those fateful words had been spoken at the fabled shrine. The original Nitemare Kitsusagi of old had long since died out but their their descendants remain forevermore, their eyes forever stitched closed like a mark of shame, reminding all of Kitsusagi-kind of the terrible mistake that a sect of their species made.

Many Kitsusagi have forgotten the ways of their ancestors now. Very few Nightmare Kitsusagi remember their true heritage and ideals. Some have even turned their back on the old ways and choose to live out their lives like any other species of Kitsusagi, making peace with others, the world around them, and with what they are.

Certainly not all, however.

There is a population of Kitsusagi that exist in a place faraway from the peacefulness of the Kitsusagi Realm. One cannot ordinarily travel there unless they know how. The place is like a seperate dimension altogether although it belongs to no universe. It exists as a loose rift in the fabric of existance and it's inhabitants call it the Otherealm. The inhabitants of Otherealm are solely Kitsusagi. They are not unlike us, but their behaviours are strangely different. Here, things and events do not affect nor weigh any bearing on the outside world. Or at least, so everyone thought...

Deep in the heart of Otherealm, a clan of Nightmare Kitsusagi exist. They are conniving and spiteful creatures whom would even conspire against their own if it meant gaining power. The more boisterous and stern of their kind have made it their life mission to seek out other methods to acquire the fabled powers that their ancestors had quested so long ago, and to have their curse lifted.

Many months had passed with no news. Then one day, one of the numbers in their scouting ranks came back to his leader with good tidings. He had heard stories from the other Kitsusagi in his lands and returned to tell of his findings.

The scout had heard stories and had found firsthand evidence of a decrepit and long forgotten mausoleum buried deep within the Otherealm forests many miles away. Within the mausoleum lies a precious and powerful gem known the Lazuli - an artifact that can bring untold levels of power or misfortune depending on the weilder of the power. It had been abandoned for literally hundreds of generations, locked away by the old-world Kitsusagi for it was too powerful and had brought terrible pain and suffering upon their kind, and pain upon the Kitsusagi in the Realms beyond.

It was now anyone's for the taking.

And that was just what the Nightmare Kitsusagi clan intended to do. Without hesitation or a second thought, the clan of Nightmare Kitsusagi ventured out of their dark home in the Otherealm and across the plains towards the mausoleum, only two thoughts on their mind - to acquire the Lazuli, and to crush anybody who stands in their way.

This marks the eve of dark times. The beginning of war is inevitable, and the eve of another terrible mistake is upon us. If the Nightmare Kitsusagi obtain the Lazuli, one can only guess that they will use it to bring ultimate power to themselves, and revenge to all of Kitsudom everywhere. Otherealm, The Realm of Kitsusagi, the Kitsusagi Mountain, anywhere where our kind exists. They must be stopped, no matter what the cost.

The Angelic's Reply

On Wings of a Saviour.

The Angelic Kitsusagi have always been the protectors and guardians of all Kitsusagi kind. The majority use their powers for good, and to help others in times of need. All had been well in recent times, at least until some of them had heard of the Nightmare's uprising...

The few winged saviours knew of the Lazuli, but had never attempted to seek it out, knowing of the terrible destruction and havoc it could wreak. They had left it alone and protected the mausoleum, some even deciding to cover it with vines and pointed weeds to deter any curious Normal Kitsusagi from venturing into the structure. It had worked for the mostpart.

But now, a bigger problem was on them. Angry hostile Nightmare Kitsusagi whom had banded together to form a clan were coming to get it. And they would stop at nothing to acheive their goal.

The Angelic Kitsusagi decided to rise up, and begin their journey to the mausoleum on their own. If they could get to the shrine in time and guard it, maybe a crisis could be averted...

Now that you know the background, and the story behind this RP event, it will be up to you to continue this. The GM Kitsusagi will help lead the sides onwards, but ultimately the sides that move in, and war itself will be RPed out by all of us. The GMs will play an active part in plot movement, and so will you! Will you join the Angelic side and rise up against the Nightmares? Or will you join the Nightmares in their quest for revenge and ultimate power? The choice is yours. Choose wisely, for your decision may be the one that helps wins the war....

How to Sign Up

Because this is going to be a very involved event (staff-wise), we are going to set a limited time period for you to sign up for the RP side of the event. After the signup date has come and gone, we will be accepting no more RP applicants (you are still welcome to buy tickets for the raffle, however). When the RP begins there is to be minimal OOC banter inthread. It will be up to you to keep an eye on the RP and stay active. The GM Kitsusagi being used are your character's leaders. You cannot assign your character a rank - it will be an ordinary soldier whether you choose to be on the Angelic or the Nightmare side of the chaos.

If you decide to have your Kitsusagi die in battle during this RP Event war, that is totally fine. If you want to have your Kitsusagi kill another, please get the consent of the other owner's character first. GM Kitsusagi reserve the right to kill others. However, do note that dead characters are inelligable for the prize of becoming real existing Realm Kitsusagi.

Your character can be either an Angelic, or a Nightmare Kitsusagi. You are allowed to declare it's gender, general colourscheme and overall look if you win. You may draw/colour a reference yourself, or you might like to describe it in words.

If you want to colour a reference for your prize and lack the skill to draw it, below are some images you might like to colour and upload to your own image storage place (like Photobucket). You can colour this in MSPaint, Open Canvas, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, or any painter application that you feel comfortable in.

The top prize in this RP Contest Event is one fully custom-coloured egg-to-adult Kitsusagi of the species faction that you RPed in and supported. The Grand Prize Angelic winner will receive a custom growing Angelic egg-to-adult, and the Nightmare winner will receive a custom growing Nightmare egg-to-adult. This Raffle opens as of September 7th, 6pm PST, and closes on September 21st, 6pm PST SHARP.

exclaim Tickets will cost 100g each. You can buy as many as you wish whether they be for yourself, friends, acquaintences or enemies.
exclaim The first winner will get first pick of which Kitsusagi they want. Second winner gets second pick. And so on. This is essentially a flaffle-style pick.
exclaim To purchase your raffle tickets, first post in the thread "I am purchasing XX raffle tickets for (username)" in size 24 bolded BLUE text, XX being the number of how many you are looking to purchase and (username) being who the tickets will go to.
