I have decided that Tallulah works at the animal shelter and if she brings home any more cats, her parents might kill her. It would be sort of neat for her to have one.

Tallulah's a goody-two shoes and a do-gooder, not to mention unsurpassably optimistic. While she would probably initially worry about what being a superhero would do to her time to do homework in her already busy schedule, she'd eventually come around to seeing it as a way to Make A Difference! and embrace it enthusiastically.
