Illumens is a breedables shop that offers adorable glowing fox pets that you
can interact with, roleplay with, and collect. Each one is unique in it's colors
and patterns, so no two are alike. In the world of Illumens you and your pet
can explore, have adventures, meet other owners, and maybe even develop
a family.

Illumens was originally owned by Scriptkittie, who then sold it to the current
owner, Apricots. The shop is generally run and managed by Obnoxious Obscurity
and the thread management is controlled by Faerie_Sight. All of these people
are dedicated to keeping this shop going, and the customers (i.e. you!) happy!

Hey. This is Noxi. At Apricot's okay, I am going to be taking charge
of the shop for the time being. While she is still owner, I will be taking
care of everything. If you have questions about anything, please PM

As you can see, we are working on the thread revamp. We will have
a reopening event shortly with over 40 pets. Also, I will be getting a

Nine years. Nine years since the market at the wall had last been celebrated
by people from across the mortal realm and the land of Faerie.
Merchants from all around both worlds had flocked to see the wondrous
goods that would be offered for rather eccentric prices. The simplest
of trinkets could cost you all the memories from before you were three
or the color of your hair. but woe be to any who thought any such
items were ordinary.

Illumen Eclair had traveled over vast lands and dealt with strange objects,
but the baubles she had discovered of late had proved to be beautiful
and most importantly, profitable. A circle of glass that emanated light and
warmth quickly became her main item of profit. but soon, many customers
began to proclaim strange things!

The baubles had suddenly sprung to life in the form of a tricksy vulpine.
soon, consumers from faerie would no longer purchase her baubles. While
they were pretty little things, they carried a life of their own that most
had not bargained to be charged with.

And so to this market Illumen Eclair had traveled for the first time in over
70 years. The time was right, for she followed the spring and while it
was a chilly day, the flowers smiled in the field that would soon be crowded
with stalls. Here is where she set up her wooden stand and lined it with her
lamps. she laced ribbons and streamers up and around her stand and
dressed in her best. Surely people of the mortal realm would be more willing
to acquire her goods.

"Care for a little illumenation?"

Business would be good this year.

Illumen Eclair is a merchant and trader from the land of faerie. While she hasn't visited the market next to the wall in a long time, she is not unknown. Many of the other traders have dealt with her at one point or another. No one knows her true age or name, but one thing that is blatantly apparent is that she is not human.

She has been known to make plenty of profit wherever she goes, but her only companion is a ghost by the name of Samuel. No one knows why these two travel together, but most just assume it is the result of a curse, as most things are in this world.

Samuel is a ghost that haunts Illumen. When he speaks, it sounds like the whispering wind, or a creak coming from strained wood. most normal people cannot understand him, but illumen eclair can, much to her aggravation.

Not much is known about Samuel except that anyone can see and hear him in the faint glow of the illumens, and no one knows why. On top of that Samuel himself does not remember his past. How he came to this state, his last name or where he is from is a mystery even to him. In truth, Samuel is a mystery, and illumen just wishes he would solve it and move on already.

  Any unsuspecting person might think it to be nothing more than a pretty
  magical light in an ornate lamp. They would be wrong. The globe is nearly
  unbreakable and the warm, steady glow incubates the young kit within.
  There is not much activity to be seen. but if you are watching carefully,
  one might witness some stirring from the center of the light. The illumen
  inside will stay in the shelter of the globe until it is strong enough to emerge.
  Love and attention from their new owners seem to help the illumens to be
  more willing to face the outside world as a kit.

  Rambunctious and full of zest, these creatures are curious to learn about
  the world around them. Kits are playful and seek the friendship of other
  illumens and humans. They can be mischievous little things, playing tricks
  on the unwary. Many new owners seem to get a bit worn down by the
  younglings, usually being the target of many of their tricks. However, at
  the end of the day they are rewarded by the love and devotion
  the illumen shows to its adopted parent.

  While they still have their sense of curiosity and a measure of the energy they
  had as a kit, life experiences have matured these illumens. They have done
  their exploring and play making and look to settle down. It is at this time they
  might look for a mate or a place to call their own. Adult illumens might show
  their appreciation for their owner's care by helping out others with their young
  kits, keeping them in reign and lecturing them when the tricks get too far

  Every now and again a few illumens will emerge with some unusual mutations,
  such as horns, wings, etc. don't be alarmed. You are one of the few and
  lucky to possess some of the rarest illumens. Angelics and demonics are their
  nick names, however, it does not dictate what their personality will be or who
  they can breed with. They require the same love and devotion as any other

When illumens love each other very much, they decide that they may
want the joy of kits. And so, they collect filaments from their own tails
and put them in baubles. After a few days, new life emerges into the
baubles and begins incubating until it is ready to emerge.

• illumens can have 2-3 kits per litter
  
• Same-sex & heterosexual couples can breed
  
• Each parent can only keep 1 kit
  
• If there is an extra, you must find another home for it
  
• The rules above do not apply if kits are gained in other events

• If your pet is frequently rp'd, the maximum number of kits gets upped by 1.

• How can I acquire an illumen? Can I get one for free?
  -You can acquire an illumen from flatsales, auctions and raffles, or a
  breeding. And while we will sometimes host free events, we do not
  usually give them away. Keep your eyes peeled for opportunities.
  
  
• How long do they take to grow?
  -While this answer is in the stages part of the thread, it takes about 1
  week for your lamp to grow and about 4 weeks for your kit to grow.
  unless specific potions are used, of course.
  
  
• Is roleplaying required?
  -Roleplaying is not required for you to have your pets, but it is highly
  suggested as dedicated RPers tend to get more out of events.
  
  
• Can I have a job as a colorist, guest colorist or thread manager?
  -Unfortunately, right now we are not hiring. that could change though.
  Pay attention to the thread updates to see availability.
  
  
• Is there a limit to the number of illumens I can own?
  -No, there is no limit to how many you can own overall, but there is a
  limit as to how many you can receive from specific events.
  
  
• Do I direct-link my pets?
  -Yes, until they are fully-grown; then we ask that you host the image
  yourself.
  
  
• Can I resell my pets if I lose interest?
  -If you have, at one point, lost interest in your illumen, you cannot
  resell it. However, you may rehome it. The rehoming rules are located
  here.
  
  
• Can I sell extra kits in a breeding?
  -No. They must be given away freely. you cannot profit from your pets.
  
  
• where can we rp our pets?
  -You can rp your pets either in the guild or in the main thread, though I
  ask that you keep the rp light and, of course, pg. If you have a more
  romantic one x one rp, we ask that you move it to the guild.
  
  
• Can illumens of the same sex breed?
  -Yes, they can. don't ask how, just go along with it.
  
  
• Will older pets be honored? will older owners be welcomed?
  -Yes, of course they will be. we only ask that you post in the certing thread
  with your information so that we may add you onto the new owner's list.
