What would you all think of me extending the ORP past the GO Event? In hindsight I realize that it may be difficult for people to come up with characters and be ready to RP them before the festival ends.

This way, at least, plenty of people will be able to participate in our first Meta Event, and quite a few of you will have pets by the end of the GO Event, as well. c:

Right now, I'm considering extending it through the month of November, at least, and seeing where we are by then. I'll settle on an official end date after activity in that arena has picked up a tad <3

Updates~
Some new info in the Archives! This is taken from the "Newbie Guide" and there's some much more detailed info on all of this in the "Additional Settings" forum. Humans have been given three separate, official, titles according to how magic-oriented they are (or aren't). There's also a bit more info on the use of magic.

Characters
Human characters have their own sub-forum, and profiles must be approved before they can be roleplayed. This isn't a complicated or strict process, however -- we just want to make sure you've read the rules and understand the setting.

The following are official titles used, long ago, for various types of people. It's assumed that the words come from the same magic that is used while Summoning -- a language that no one seems ever able to remember after the trance of summoning. The words, however, often appear in legends and stories to describe people of various magic ability.

Glemmings
Singular - Glemming, or "Glem"
These are ordinary people with absolutely no magic ability whatsoever. They will never have magic, or summon a hound.

Whysts
Singular - Whyst
These humans have some small amount of magic and may be able to do simple things with their ability. They will never become Summoners, but they are able to bond with Familiars. Sometimes they may hear the tolling, but it is usually very distant and unclear.

Aelfir
Singular - Aelf
Also known as 'Summoners'. These individuals are usually mistaken as whysts until they are able to summon a Hound of their own. They always hear the tolling, and it is usually quite clear and distinct.

Hounds
These are the huge wolf-shaped spirits of the Abyss that bond to the Aelfir, or their "Summoners". They are as big as a horse, and have rather powerful magic abilities, as well as great strength due to their size.

Familiars
These are the companions of Summoners and Whysts. They are lesser spirit creatures native to earth, and are quite a bit more intelligent than normal animals, though not so much as humans or Hounds. Familiars are most useful for their innate ability to enhance their partner's magic ability.
There are currently two species: foxes and deer.

Magic
All whysts, aelfir and hounds are capable of wielding magic. Whysts generally are not able to do much with elemental magics, aside from the bare minimum and it's usually easier to go about it manually (such as heating water, or melting ice, for example). Aelfir and Hounds, on the other hand, generally tend to find themselves drawn more strongly to a specific element, though most are able to wield spells in all elements to some degree of success.
