Temporarily: GUEST ARTIST INFORMATION

PLEASE DO NOT DRAW/DESIGN YOUR OWN FEIEN.
I will NOT sell feien you have designed yourself. End of discussion. I did this for two artists because they drew feien without knowing any better, I will NOT do it again.

Guest artists have lots of options. Look around and decide what you might like to do! If you see a task that interests you, please PM the shop account with some art samples.

You are allowed to sell your services at a flat price, in an auction, by raffle -- anything that interests you, and you keep 100% of the profits.

1) Feien bloom & Juvenile
A: The bloom and juvenile stages are the first two stages of feien life and all feien begin with these two stages drawn. If you would like to do a bloom and juvenile, you can pick from a list of feien supplied by the Fleet. When you draw a bloom and juvenile, you get to design markings, hairstyle, all that fun stuff! (Within given parameters, see below for more information.) You can also pick a rare element, but surcharges may apply, and surcharge profits go to the shop.
B: You can offer your services for drawing a feien bloom and juvenile and the buyer selects the feien from a list supplied by the Fleet. You still get to design the feien markings and hairstyle.

2) Feien juvenile
A: Same as above, but juvenile stage only, no bloom. Pick from a list supplied by the Fleet. Markings and hairstyle are up to you!
B: Same as above, but juvenile stage only, no bloom. Buyer picks feien from a list supplied by the Fleet. Markings and hairstyle are still up to you.

3) Feien bloom, juvenile, adult
A: Same as above, but all three stages with art by you! Pick from a list supplied by the Fleet. You have design control within the given parameters.
B: Same as above, but all three stages with art by you! Buyer picks from a list supplied by the Fleet. You have design control within the given parameters.

4) Feien adult image
A: You can offer your services to draw adult images for current feien juveniles, or new adult images for existing adults. You can do either base images, or offer to create new images including items.
B: If you own a feien, you can commission an artist on or off-Gaia to draw an adult image for your feien. Please note that shop fees still apply and the artist must still get the image details from the shop. Also, the shop must approve the artist first.
C) Combine your offer for an adult image with a juvenile/bloom by RikProwley. Rik will then do the juvenile based on your adult feien design. (Design parameters still apply, of course.)

3) Enhanced image.
A: You can offer your services for an Enhanced feien image in conjunction with a gemstone you have chosen. This service would then be applied to any existing feien owned, or if the buyer does not have a feien, they may select one from the Fleet.
B: You can offer your services for an Enhanced feien image to an owner who already has a gemstone. If the buyer does not already have a gemstone, they are responsible for buying one.

Design parameter information
The reason you cannot draw/design your own feien is because feien all have genetic codes which are either a) determined by breeding or b) totally randomized based on a master list of traits and things.

Artistically, there is a good deal of design freedom (speaking from experience here) but you have to constrain yourself to the parameters set forth by the genetic code, which are as follows:

Markings: type (rounded, square, striped), coverage (minimal, medium, heavy), color
Wings: size (small, medium, large), type (mammal, insect, cloth, feathered, hybrid)
Face: face shape (round, oval, long), eye shape (round, oval, narrow), eyebrows (thin, average, thick), lips (thin, average, full), eye color, ear length/style
Body: skin tone, build (thin, average, curvy/muscled), height
Hair: color, length (short, medium, long), texture (straight, wavy, curly)

That may seem like a lot, but it's actually -fun- to design with some constraints, and you can still play around loads. (Believe you me, if drawing/designing feien were boring, I would have stopped doing it years ago.)

The above listing is basically what you're given to work with when you draw a feien. So long as what you draw fits the details, you can do whatever you want, really. For example:

blue/white markings, short hair

heavy striped white markings and medium-length straight white hair

Both sets of feien pictured are siblings so have quite a bit in common, but they still all look really different. Even if two feien have the exact same genetic code, they can still turn out looking completely different.

The experiment!
Just for kicks, anyone who likes may draw their own version of the following feien. Anyone who does gets 5 points for each picture (up to five), regardless of your artistic skill. There's a lineart in the challenge gallery you are free to use.

Draw this feien!
Markings: round, medium coverage, yellow/green
Wings: small, cloth (wing color is the same as marking color)
Face: round face, narrow eyes, thin eyebrows, average lips, green eyes, short ears (like Simon, Ares, Miyako)
Body: pale skin, thin build, short height
Hair: blue, short, straight
Other info: female

Stats

Assigning Base Stat Points
Every feien begins with a base of 50 stat points for you to divide any way you choose. There a few rules for setting up your base statistics.

1. You may not have more than a) one 9-10 and one 8 or b) three 8s.
2. You may not have more than two 1-2s.
3. The total number of points must not exceed 50. You may total less than 50 if you want. We hold you to the honor system that you will only dole out 50 points to start.
4. Once you have assigned your base stat points you may not re-assign them unless performing a stat adjustment. In other words, if you assigned your feien 8 STA and 3 LCK you cannot then decide, "Oh, I changed my mind, I want 4 STA and 7 LCK instead." Once again, you are held to the honor system that you don't go back in and do this. If you want to change your stats, use your points to do it as described in the Points section.

If you have Microsoft Excel, assigning base points can be easy! Just use this handy spreadsheet! It includes a few sample sets of points which you are free to use or modify any way you like. If you don't have Excel, get a friend who has it to help you out. I swear the spreadsheet makes it all very simple! wink

Spells

0-level spells do not count towards spell slots used.

Remember! The things to check are:
1. Your feien's MAG level (the MAG stat). Your feien may learn any spells equal or less than that number. If your MAG if 7, you can learn spells level 0-7. If you have 10 WIS and 7 MAG, your feien can learn spells level 0-8.
2. Your spell slots (again, the MAG stat). You have slots equal to your MAG. If you have 5 MAG, you can learn 5 spells, taken from the non-elemental list or your feien's elemental list. If you have Enhanced Wisdom and 5 MAG you can learn 6 spells.
3. The RP point cost.

Spell suggestions can be submitted here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=6876

- Don't forget to add the elemental specialties

Points are how your activity is measured. By earning points, you can buy rewards like quests and new art, and unlock growth. Points are gained by roleplay, diary posting, and posting in the main thread. You are responsible for keeping track of your own points. As with all other feien things, we hold you to the honor system that you don't give yourself extra points or otherwise cheat.

The values for tabulating points are as follows:

OOC post in the main thread = 1 pt.
RP post in the main thread = 2 pt.
Diary entry = 2 pt.
Diary story = 3 pt.
Compiled story = 3 pt.
Guild thread RP post = 2 pt.
Diary organizational posts (profiles, friends, etc) = 1 pt.

The following things do not count for points:

OOC posts in the guild
Reserved posts in a diary (points may be added when the post is filled)
RP posts made in another person's diary*
RP posts in other Breedables shops*

* You may, of course, compile RPs from other diaries or Breedables threads and post them in your own diary for 3 pts.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Points are totaled by player rather than by individual feien. A player may spend points on any of their feien or give their points to another player so long as both players keep track of the exchange and inform the shop by making a post in the appropriate guild thread stating who is giving points to whom and how many points are being transferred. You may count posts made with your mules provided that they meet the normal requirements of being located in the main thread, your diary, or a guild RP thread. You may also count posts made prior to your obtaining a feien and if you do a roleplay in the main thread or a guild thread, you can count all of your posts in the thread plus the three points for posting a compilation in your diary.

Tips for tracking points:
- Keep a point total somewhere on the front page of your diary, in the first post or the last post or in a post specially designed for the task.
- You can update your points every time you earn them, or track them by date or the thread page number.
- You don't have to update your points every single day, but you may find it easier to because then you don't have to comb through the main thread looking for posts.
- It might help you to have two separate point totals, one for your diary total and the other for your main thread total. Then you can keep track of points by page, for example: "main thread p.168 - 70 pts.; diary p.5 - 130 pts.; Total: 200 pts." If you do roleplaying in guild threads, a separate total for those is advised.
- Don't decrease your point total every time you buy a reward or give points away - keep track of your total points spent and your overall total. You must have the overall total posted: the shop monitors it to help decide pricing for thingslike quests.
- If you do an RP in a guild thread, you can keep track of everyone's totals in the first post of the thread or by making a totaling post when the roleplay is done.
- Got a method you think others might find helpful? Tell us!

Unlike the previous system, once you've spent points they're spent. They do not come back. The shop keeps track of how many points you spend but not what you spend your points on. You might want to keep track of that, but it's optional. To see how many points you've used and use your points, go to the Point Tracker.

You can spend points on:
- Quests
- Growth
- New Images
- Spells & Abilities
- Stat Points
- Gemstones
- Personality modifications

Main Thread OOC Posts vs. Bumping
I am of the opinion that the feien are so well known at this point that the thread does not require bumping. Therefore I ask that you only post conversationally in the thread -- even if you're just having a conversation with yourself. If you want to bump, I ask that you please not count more than ten bump posts per day towards your points, and also that you never, ever, ever bump while RP is going on.

Cheater Cheater Pumpkin Eater
In any self-policing system there is potential for abuse. I really do trust you guys and think that you'll uphold my point rules, but in the event you think someone is cheating, please contact the shop and inform me. Your identity will not be revealed. Please explain why you think the person might be cheating; any actual evidence you have will be a big plus. This does not include calculational errors -- there's math involved in tabulating points and everyone makes mistakes in math eventually. This is a statistical fact. You might hit the wrong number on your calculator or count a post twice and not realize it. (If you do realize it, for the love of all things holy, do the math again!) I'm only concerned about significant cheating, not minor errors we'll all eventually make.

Old Thread Posts
Due to the immense amount of work that would be required and the fact that everyone simply can't be expected to take the time to tabulate the posts, OOC and RP posts in old feien threads will not be counted. Even if someone were willing to go through and count them all, this is a new shop incarnation, everyone should basically start afresh with their points. You get to count all the old posts in your diary and the guild RP threads as a thank-you for having been involved in the past. Don't push it. blaugh

All feien fairies must have a diary thread located in the guild. Whether or not you use your diary for any actual posting is up to you, but your thread must include one crucial thing: a Status Post.
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
A Status Post gives the base personality, stats, and abilities of a feien. You are responsible for the maintenance of your Status Post. As already described numerous times, you are held to the honor system with regards to the content of your status post.

The Status Post must be the first or second post in your diary. If it is the second post, it may only be preceded by a navigation or title post. If you have more than one feien, you may put the stats for each feien in a separate post or all together in the same post, your choice.

There are four essential elements of the Status Post. The first is the image.

((IMAGE HERE))

The second is the base personality. Your feien's base personality is provided by the shop and is non-negotiable. Your feien's base personality will remain the same throughout its life unless you spend points to make a modification.

The third required element is your feien's Statistics or Stats. These are gone over in detail in the Stats post. You must include a listing for all of your feien's stats that conforms to the Stats guidelines.

The final thing you must have is a list of your feien's spells and abilities. Only spells and abilities actually possessed by your feien may be listed. If your feien has not learned something, it may not be included, even in parentheses (as was previously the shop's procedure).

For RP purposes, this history is not known unless one of you actually managles to wheedle it out from an Ancient or Fleet person.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Many years ago, elves created feien fairies to be their companions and servants. They imbued their creations with some of their magical powers and bound the fairies to the life force of the great Tree of Life. Then, one day, a great elven mage decided to see if he could create a new fairy, one that could live apart from an elven bond. No one is certain what exactly his aims were; when his fellow elves found out about the experiment, they killed the mage and erased all record of his existence, but not before the mage sent the remnants of his creation to Earth.

On Earth the fairies flourished in secret, hiding from Mankind and Elvenkind alike in the safety of the feien trees, plants specially enchanted by the now-dead mage to provide the fairies with life energy and new blooms. Things went well for several decades. Unfortunately, magic does not last long on Earth, so gradually the trees began to fade, and with them the feien people.

Several feien escaped this fate through various means and the greatest of magicians among the fairies managed to enchant a new plant to summon new blooms. The East American Councilmember, Julius, gave this plant to his friend Emperial with the hopes that she, being a multidimensional being, could find the feien a new home away from the magic-draining properties of Earth.

The home Emperial chose was Gaia, a thickly magic place with thousands of potential bonds. With the help of Corvus, the last Summoner of the feien, she produced feien blooms and found them homes.

This worked for a while. The feien flourished and grew in number. But the people of Gaia were not all good bonds. Several of them neglected their feien and the feien community, and once again the magic began to weaken. Furthermore, Emperial was wounded by several of the bonds and she fled the Gaian realm with Corvus, leaving the feien to fend for themselves.

Without Emperial or Corvus, the situation worsened still, but neither she nor Corvus wished to return. They gave the shop to another feien, Simon, who was ill-equipped to handle it. He fretted over what to do but could find no solution to the problem. Finally, word of the situation reached the Interdimensional Battle Fleet, the place to which Emperial had fled with the feien plant and a few stolen blooms.

The Fleet had been conducting a trial with the feien stolen by Emperial to see if feien could be useful to Fleet personnel. The trial went well and the Fleet wanted to expand its feien numbers but lacked the necessary genetic material. With the dire situation on Gaia, the Fleet took it upon itself to commandeer the whole Gaian branch of the feien project. Thanks to several legal loopholes to the government's benefit, they succeeded, and Fleet personnel were dispatched to Gaia to revitalize the project and continue the Fleet's successful breeding program. They redesigned every aspect of the Gaian branch of the project and restructured the leadership so that the Fleet would have direct oversight of all the feien on Gaia.

Of course, as to how the project succeeds now that it has been militarized, only time will tell...

OOC Timeline

1996-2000 - During her school hours, Emperial plays with several comic ideas. They include Setsuba, a story of an ice skating karate superheroine (or something to that effect), Armageddon 2000 (a secret police force designed to deal with terrorist and cult threats associated with the new millenium), Armageddon 3000 (the sequal to A2K dealing with Mankind's first contact with aliens, not the apocalypse or millenium threats), The Ice Plain (a strange... well, it defies classification, but it's where Dr. M is from), Super Magical Girl something-or-other Ruby (a scifi-meets-magical girl semi-parody), and There Be Elves, a story about a bunch of elves invading the life of a Japanese schoolgirl.

1998-ish - Emperial has an AOL IM conversation with her friend Adrian in which she explains the entire story of There Be Elves (or at least the first season). The conversation is logged.

2000 - Emperial decides to do an online comic and of all the ideas she's developed, picks TBE because, well, she had the log of the AIM conversation on her HD. In truth, my favorite of all the ideas is Armageddon 2000, but I felt at the time (and still believe) that my artistic skill isn't good enough to do the story justice.

January 2001 - There Be Elves goes online hosted by Keenspace.

April 2002 - There Be Elves moves to its own domain, hosted by DrowTales.

February 2003 - Emperial discovers Gaia Online.

Mid-2003 - TBE peters out as Emperial loses interest in working on it.

October 2003 - Emperial gets an idea to do some sort of breedable pet using Punnet squares. They're called Punnets and are some sort of winged cat. Suffice to say, she never gets around to finishing the idea, though sketches are made and genetic sequencing is started.

December 2003 - Something clicks in Emperials head -- never mind the winged cats, winged -people- are so much better! And it just so happens she has a comic full of winged people who already have their own backstory and everything! That's much less work to design. Besides, she isn't very good at drawing winged cats.

February 2004 - Emperial finishes typing up the info for the Feien Fairies and puts them online. She sells five at the first flatsale for some obscene price like 5k. Or was it 6k? It's not important.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Capt. Maruo Hamada (Comm/Int)
Deputy Director of Communications
Feien: Johannes
The intelligent and thoughtful Capt. Hamada was one of the two original Communications personnel when the department was first established as an indepent wing of Battle Fleet. Originally, Communications was a subsection of the other established branches. Hamada and then-Empress Emperial Atrepie proposed that Communications be made its own division to better facilitate the standardization of operations across the Fleet. The proposal was accepted and Hamada instantly found himself with the responsibility of upgrading all the hardware and software across the Fleet to be compatible. This was no small feat -- at one point, one division of the Fleet was still using radio communication while another used subspace and still another superlight.

Hamada accomplished this task over the course of several years, growing and expanding his branch at the same time and adding new personnel until the Communications Division grew equal in size to any other branch. Today is is the nerve center of the Fleet, organizing vast quantities of data and relaying thousands of interdepartmental communications every day.

As one of the Fleet's most trusted officers, Hamada was among the first to receive a feien. He and Johannes enjoy a strong friendship. When it was decided that the feien project was going to branch out to Gaia and leave the Science Directorate, Hamada was summoned to be the project leader under the supervision of Adm. Antipov, with whom he has worked for several years as the Chief Intelligence Communications officer (arguably the singlemost important Communications posting in the Fleet).

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Lt. Alfredo Cabrizzio (Comm/Ops)
Feien: Xanna (fka Xathriel)
While not yet eighteen years old, Lr. Cabrizzio has been with the Fleet for seven years and is one of its most competent communications technicians. Orphaned in Italy, he was collected in a Fleet sweep and offered a position. He is known for being a nice, polite person, but he can be quite fierce when cornered. His loyalty to the Fleet is unquestionable. During the altercation with Deity Command shortly after his arrival, he resisted bravely. He was badly injured during the fight and after his recovery was retained by Medical for training. While he was good at his duties, he fainted at the sight of blood on several occasions and we then sent to work with the Science division. Again he performed well, but lacked the spark of genius required for research and development, so was moved to Communications, where he found a home. His competence resulted in his being appointed the Comm/Ops liaison officer about a year ago. Older officers treat him with respect thanks to his professional demeanor and excellent job performance. Capt. Hamada and V. Adm. Fujimoto have taken a particularly keen interest in Alfredo; Hamada is Alfredo's appointed foster father.

Alfredo currently is assigned to be the secretary for the Gaia Regional HQ, which is a surprisingly more important job than it sounds. He manages all the paper that goes through the office and runs the place on a day-to-day basis, though you won't often see him as he prefers to work in quiet and seek sout times when others are not likely to be found in the area. He also has been issued a PSU so even if he is around, you might not know it.

Alfredo's feien bond is Xanna. They have only been very recently bonded so the two are still getting to know one another, but they seem to be getting on very well and the bond is expected to be permanent.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Adm. Pavel Antipov (Comm/Int)
Director of Intelligence
Feien: Verine Antipova
The story of how this university scholar became a Fleet recruit and an intelligence officer is an amazing one, but sadly far too long too be told in such a small space. Suffice to say Antipov is the most highly decorated intelligence officer in the Fleet, active or otherwise, and probably third-most decorated officer, period. During his days of field work he was the most successful reconnaissance agent the Fleet has ever known. He infiltrated the enemy forces to an incredible degree and his reports, made via his dimensional twin Dr. M, allowed the Fleet to completely purge itself of enemy sleeper agents and find new dimensions to farm for operatives which were inaccessible to the enemy's recruiting officers. It probably came as a tremendous surprise to the enemy when they found out Antipov was a Fleet member. He served undercover for over ten years and was third-in-command of the enemy's equivalent Intelligence branch.

Unfortunately Antipov's time as field agent eventually had to come to an end simply because his dimensional matrix could not endure the obscuration necessary for his type of field work any longer. When he finally did move into a desk job, he did so spectacularly, being appointed Director of Intelligence after the Supreme Commander vacated the position in favor of being the Director of the Navy.

The transition was rough for Antipov. He was immensely unhappy to be recalled from the field and withdrew from everyone around him. The Supreme Commander finally decided something needed to be done and suggested he be bonded to a feien. Antipov was at first resistant to the suggestion of bonding, not wanting the annoyances of a fairy, but when Verine finally appeared to him he found her utterly breathtaking and enchanting. They rarely spend a moment apart and have a great rapport.

Antipov enjoys the rare position of being the Supreme Commander's friend. He alternates between periods of intense introversion and passionate command, when he is known for his eloquent speeches. He's a good commander mainly because his orders are so concise and clear and he understands the Fleet position on responsibility better than most. Antipov believes that he can do things better than just about everyone else, and for the most part, he's right. When the idea of assimilating the Gaian branch of the feien project was brought up, Antipov immediately jumped at the chance to oversee the project. He feels that the feien were mismanaged while under the Science Directorate and this time, he's going to make sure everything goes right. His other aim is see Emperial, to whom he owes his life, return to Gaia without getting upset.

Antipov may sometimes make OOC posts. When he does, they are in small dark blue font and frequently signed with his initials. When speaking to him IC or OOC, he may be addressed as either Director or Antipov.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Comm. Dr. (Jonathan) M (Int/Med/Sci)
Sub-Director of Intelligence
aka Dr. Death
Feien: Mitrovica
Even by the Fleet's notoriously lax standards with regards to diagnosing psychological threats, Dr. M has been termed "dangerously unstable." His psychological profile reveals that he is a sociopath with a mildly paranoid personality and behavioral anomalies.

Dr. M came to the Fleet under unusual circumstances. He was remotely detected as being a dimensional twin of Pavel Antipov and when a team was dispatched for his retrieval Dr. M was found standing in the middle of a giant plain of ice with no food or shelter anywhere around him for miles and miles. No one knows how Dr. M came to be on the Ice Plain and he himself has never revealed it. He gave his name only as Dr. M; when he was registered into the Fleet database and asked for a first name he replied cryptically, "I think perhaps Jonathan."

His genius in all things medical and scientific was immediately noticed, but Dr. M possesses a far rarer gift than mere science. He is capable of passing any lie detector test no matter what he is saying and no truth serum has been discovered that works on him. He was partnered with his dimensional twin and the two became infiltration agents. They were excellent field agents for seven years until it was determined that their dimensional matrices could no longer endure the modification required for fieldwork. They were then appointed to the leadership of the Intelligence division, Antipov as the director and Dr. M as Deputy Director, later changed to Sub-Director. Dr. M and Pavel Antipov remain two of the most highly-decorated Intelligence officers of all time.

One advantage to this retirement was that Dr. M is now free to conduct his medical and scientific research. He is the head of a branch of the Medical Division that, according to all records, does not exist. He is known for performing experiments of an extremely illegal nature, but then his imaginary department is immune from legal jurisdiction by the order of the Supreme Commander.

Dr. M has a nervous, halting mannerism. He always sounds as if he is out of breath and his hand motions are sudden, jerky. He is very soft-spoken and has a strange accent which cannot be identified and speaks fluent English, Russian, German, Italian, and French, all with this bizarre accent. He can also read Chinese (though not speak it). He has no friends besides Pavel, Emperial, and, more recently, Verine and Mitrovica. He is physically small, a tad shy of 5' 6" and extremely thin and light, with a round face that is eternally boyish. He has been physically compared to Radar O'Reilly (but don't do it in his presence because he despises the comparison). His hair is usually light brown, but randomly turns completely white for no apparent reason. It always changes back, but never seems to actually grow. He is always found wearing either a concealing white lab coat or the red uniform of a combat intelligence officer. His behavior is strange and erratic; he can go days without saying anything to anyone and then suddenly begin talking to people who aren't there. Pavel Antipov remains to this day the only person capable of dealing with Dr. M for extended periods of time.

Dr. M was nicknamed Dr. Death for his high kill rate and unique methods in the field. He developed several poisons that were completely undetectable to the enemy and delivered them without being caught or even suspected. He's also known to have a certain creative flair with interrogations which doesn't suit his physical presence at all -- he's shy, timid even, and abnormally gentle with anything he holds, living or inanimate. When he's nervous or frightened (which is fairly often) his hands spasm and shake uncontrollably.

Dr. M's first involvement with the feien project was the result of his anger over Verine Antipova. When she was bonded to Pavel Antipov, Dr. M felt the feien was an unwanted intruder. Since he could not take it out against her directly due to her closeness with Pavel and her importance as breeding stock, he collected all the feien he could during an evacuation drill one day and kidnapped them. He later returned from his workshop (the location and contents of which are not known to anyone outside of Dr. M and the Supreme Commander) with discoveries that allowed feien to be brought back from the dead via time displacement, be bred as juveniles, and speed up or delay their growth indefinitely. He unfortunately killed most of his confiscated feien in the process, which caused a major upset with their bonds, most of whom still have not forgiven M.

Eventually Dr. M forgave Verine for intruding upon his (professional) partnership with Pavel and even took on a feien of his own, Mitrovica. Since then he has reportedly not been working on new feien experiments, though that may be merely because he's switched his research back to the dimensional deconstruction device, a machine designed to reduce all matter in a universe to its component particles.

Dr. M is considered the Fleet's foremost expert on feien, to the disgust of the people whose feien he killed to get the distinction.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Lt. Cmdr. Dr. Rustam Zakharov (Eng/Sci)
aka Rusty, Zakh
Deputy Director of Engineering
Feien: Mahatma
Dr. Zakharov (known as Zakh to his friends and Rusty to his Engineering subordinates) was once a simple Russian scientist working at Area 51 on alien technology when a disastrous incident with some new tech sent him and two hundred other scientists and soldiers several galaxies away into the middle of an alien war along with a sizeable portion of Area 51 itself. There, the humans found themselves fast allies with some of the indigenous lifeforms and fast enemies with a race of invading alien conquerors. Assisting their new allies, they helped repel the invaders and fight them across the breadth of this new galaxy for seven years before Rustam and some of his coworkers were recruited for extra duty with Battle Fleet. He was given the option of returning to Earth to see his wife but upon learning that she had remarried in those seven years he decided not to interfere with her new life and she still thinks him dead to this day.

Rustam was chosen to serve in the Fleet for his genius with mechanics and affable personality. He quickly rose through the ranks of the Engineering department and was promoted to Deputy Director within six months of joining the Fleet. He's well-liked by nearly everyone. He first became involved with the feien project through the Science department and was among the original recipients of the first breeding of feien. He was immediately enchanted with the dimunitive companions and began to spend more and more time managing their affairs and making sure they were taken care of. He became one of the two first people selected to be a temporary bondmate for all the feien bred by the Fleet. He has been a surrogate parent for over a dozen feien and has helped in their placement with permanent bonds. He's the chief feien advocate whenever issues come up. His feien bond is Mahatma, who Zakharov treats like a very small little brother. Rustam is usually the first person feien come to when they need help with anything and he's always happy to assist.

Rustam was lucky that of the two feien he had at the time, the one Dr. M confiscated survived the experience.

Feien: Silva, Aleric, Ruby Soho
Ice is the assistant shopkeeper of the Feien Shop, but you'll hardly ever see her there. Most shop duties fall to her feien, Aleric, with Ice working in the background. Ice spent several years traveling interdimensionally, but only to small, backwater dimensions that the Fleet wouldn't be bothered with if they even knew about them. Lately, though, she has settled on Gaia, keeping to her home, family and work.

Ice is a very laid back person, something that her more arrogant feien, Silva takes advantage of on a regular basis. She has a lot of strange knowledge, including proper weight lifting techniques and how to use power tools. She's also been known to carry an exacto blade on a regular basis. She dreams of being a professional writer, and can often be found sitting at her computer writing full length novels. Her relationship with her feien is close, considering the independent natures of all involved, and she is willing to support them in their personal goals whenever possible.

She first became involved with Feien when she looked into getting a feien of her own. After Silva became an adult she took a job at the shop, desiring to lend a helping hand. She enjoys meeting feien of all types, and has been know to throw feien parties, much to Silva's irritation and Aleric's enjoyment.

Feien: Maquinar, Quantel, ori'Sinrei
Having come to Gaia a few years ago under some rather nefarious circumstances, Tera has long since become one of those Gaians with the sole desire of making the world a little better for all the creatures in it. Though some have been put off by her sometimes gruff appearance, aided and abetted by the knife-scar curving down her face, any who spend a reasonable amount of time with her quickly find her to be a caring listener, willing to hear all sides of the story.

Her first two Feien having come to her under mysterious circumstances, she soon found herself enrapt with the race as a whole, studying it and doing her part to see to it that the Feien in general could continue on under the specter of extinction. It was this desire to see to it that the Feien were given every chance to survive that brought her to eventually bond herself to a third, well after her first two had become adults. It was a natural move from there to becoming a staff member of the shop itself.

Maq has followed in Tera's footsteps, at least as far as bettering his race goes, taking it upon himself at various points to train other members in fighting techniques, or just making himself available to talk. Quantel is of the opposite nature, wanting little to do with her kind as possible, unless she can find a way to use situations to her advantage, aiming for an ultimate goal that few know. The third, Ori, follows the teachings of Quantel, having interacted little with Maq in the opening months of her life, and even less with any other Feien in the community. They make up an eclectic trio, but one that Tera would not exchange for anything.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Cmdr. Dr. Roderick Rambaldi (Sci)
aka Rammy
Feien: Reidinger
Rambaldi was the original head of the feien project before his general ire over being passed over for promotion to Deputy Science Director derailed his work ethic and he went on a six month... vacation. He comes from the same home dimension as Dr. Zakharov and was a fellow scientist at Area 51. He was among the first in the Fleet to get a feien and despite a rocky relationship, neither he nor Riddle would ever trade the other for a new feien or bond.

While Rambaldi holds no significance for the current incarnation of the feien project, his historical significance warrants his inclusion here in the event he's mentioned by any current project personnel. He remains a powerful person in the Fleet, and is more or less Zakharov's best friend by association, meaning even if they don't get along spectacularly, their shared circumstances and the amount of time spent together would categorize them as best friends of a sort.

R. Adm. L. D. Empress Emperial T. Atreides-Piett ()
aka Em
Feien: Corvus, Simon
It would be negligent not to mention the absentee original owner of the feien shop. It was her friendship with Julius that led to the feien coming to Gaia and her near-breakdown concerning feien and Gaian matters that led to the Fleet's intervention on her behalf. She is immensely grateful to them, Pavel and Rustam in particular, and perhaps with their help she might someday be able to actually return to Gaia.

The following feien are the main breeding stock of the Fleet from which most feien are descended.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.#1 Fifth (G-2)
aka King Faustus
Bond: Supr Cmdr L EA Piett (Navy/Ops/Int; DirNAVY)
Markings: medium dark red round
Hair: short curly blue
Eyes: oval white
Wings: small insect
Other: average ears, double curved horns
Personality: sadistic, manipulative, predatory, picky
Self-appointed King of the Feien, though it must be noted that no other feien addresses him by this title except in a mocking or derogatory manner (Fifth himself remains blind to the tone of voice used). Fifth rules over a small court of decapitated Barbie dolls and limbless action figures collected from trash compactors across the entirety of the Fleet. Most feien make it a point to avoid him, as he is conceited, spoiled quite rotten, highly unpredictable, and very mischievous. When he is not holding Royal tea parties with his court he is usually playing pranks on other feien and Fleet officers. His behavior is permitted by his bond, the Supreme Commander, so long as he refrains from annoying anyone she tells him is off-limits. Off-limits personnel include all division directors and sub-directors, assassins and combat intelligence officers, and individuals who would respond to Fifth's pranks with extreme violence (such as Lord Balaam). Anyone not on the list is fair game. Fifth prefers to prank feien over humans as feien are less capable of squashing him.

While he is mostly known for his bad behavior, when it comes time for breeding Fifth can turn on the charm and make good with even the iciest of feien, such as Verine Antipova, though both she and Isaac always regret it later. He is a master of apology and romance, having been trained in both subjects by the Fleet's most notorious schmoozer, Tom Parson, who is undoubtedly the best prankster among the human personnel. The unfortunate fact is that while most feien (and humans) don't like Fifth, he is one of the three originals of the breeding stock and will have to be tolerated so long as he is needed.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.#2 Isaac (G-2)
Bond: 2nd Lt J Quinn (Sec)
Markings: medium black/white stripe
Hair: long straight white
Eyes: narrow red
Wings: large feathered
Other: long ears
Personality: judicious, ambitious, patient, focused
Calm to the point of indifference, Isaac has a reputation for being an extremely unflappable feien. He's extremely goal-oriented and accomplishes everything he sets out to do. He always sets goals which are challenging but realistic. While he has a reputation for being fair, most other feien avoid him because he's not particularly friendly. Even his bond will profess that they are not friends, though they don't dislike each other's company and the arangement suits them just fine. Isaac seems to prefer working alone. He is well-versed in the many nuances of Fleet regulations and works in the Law subdivision of the Communications department on a judiciary committee, reviewing cases and passing judgment. With regards to the feien, he is considered the chief legal consultant for his fellow feien and is expected to be given a atitled job in this capacity at some point in the near future. It is uncertain what his overall goal in the Fleet is as he has never communicated his ambitions to anyone else. Whatever they are, this determined feien will surely see them realized.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.#3 Verine Antipova (G-2)
aka the Ice Queen
Bond: Adm P Antipov (Int; DirINT)
Markings: medium red/black square
Hair: long straight blue/black
Eyes: oval red
Wings: large mammal
Other: long ears, 3rd eye
Personality: cautious, wary, paranoid, jumpy
As much as other feien try to avoid Isaac and Fifth, the single most ostracized feien in the Fleet is without a doubt Verine Antipova. No one inspires quite as much unease as she does. Her mere presence can send other feien, and humans, rushing for the exit.

The problem is a combination of her personality and her power. Of the feien, she is the most powerful in influence and rank. Unfortunately, she is also the least trusting, and can be more unpredictable than even Fifth. Verine is a creature ruled by varying degrees of fear who trusts no one besides her bond, and even with him she sometimes has issues. She is quite convinced that no one else really likes her (so as a result, no one does) and that anyone could be ready to turn against her. These attributes make her an excellent intelligence officer -- she is the only feien to be cleared for field work and combat -- but a poor socializer. She can be befriended but only for brief periods of time. (This at least lasts long enough for her to engage in breeding.)

The reason she inspires such fear is that by her intelligence connections she is capable of having people arrested, followed, investigated, or even killed if the idea strikes her. Given that she finds evidence of foul play in nearly everything others do, the chance of her issuing a restrictive order against someone else for no concrete reason is high. The only way to avoid having her suspect you of something is to stay out of her way.

Still, by the elder humans and high-ranking officers, Verine is held in high regard. She is very cunning and a quick study, has a photographic memory, reacts quickly and decisively, and has already saved several fellow officers in the field from death or injury. Her analytical skills are top-notch and she makes connections non-paranoids cannot. Her performance rating is in the top 1% of her field after merely four months of work. She had personally spearheaded two wildly successful intelligence missions, one reconnaissance and the other infiltration/assassination.

Verine is also one of the most tightly-connected feien with regards to her bond. She even went so far as to take his last name. Antipov adores her and is immensely proud of her achievements in his department. He is also very understanding of her nature and helps deflect her paranoia concerning other Fleet officers and prevent her from causing any serious damage to her compatriots or herself. When she issues counteractive orders, he circumvents them before they can come into play. The two of them work very well together and communicate on a level beyond any other feien and bond. They can anticipate each other's actions and words and have a great synergy. It is a widely-held assumption that the unmarried Antipov is in love with his diminutive partner (his first love of any kind in fifteen years besides work), and that even when she doesn't trust him, Verine still loves him in return.

The Interdimensional Battle Fleet is a specialized external combat branch of the Galactic Imperium. The Fleet's combat specialization is near-Earth humanoid, so unsurprisingly the Fleet resembles nothing so much as a typical humanoid military, with space armadas and bases that exist in a physical sense. Their enemy is the near-Earth humanoid physical branch of Deity Command.

The leader of Battle Fleet is Supreme Commander EmileAmai Piett, known as the Lady Admiral or the Dark Lady. It is her vision and will that drives the Fleet towards its eventual goal, the total annihilation of Deity Command. The Fleet is divided into fourteen divisions:

Galactic Navy (NAVY) While formerly this was the branch responsible for manning all the starships, the Naval branch has since become the area for 3d or "unlimited" combat specialists. In space, there is no up or down, so the tactics used vary quite a bit from those used on flat terrain. Navy officers study this type of combat exclusively. The Director of the Navy is Supreme Commander EA Piett and the Deputy Director is Commodore Landor Niela.

Galactic Army (ARMY) Parallel to the Navy, the Army focuses on 2d or "limited" combat. More than footsoldiers, most Army officers in the Fleet are specialists in mechanized armor of various types and many forms of weaponry. They consider the Navy to be a bunch of computer nerds whereas the Army is more of a hands-on operation. The Director of the Army is Surface Marshall Douglas M. Hein and the Deputy Director is General Makoto Teryu Paxton.

Communications (COMM) All information that goes from one branch to another passes through the Communications Division. The goal of communications is, simply put, to distribute as much information as possible to as many people as require it as quickly as possible. Communications officers are frequently stationed within other departments as liaisons officers. They are the antithesis of the Intelligence Division, which tends to hoard information and prevent anyone from accessing it. The Communications Director is Rear Admiral Empl. T. Atreides-Piett and the Deputy Director is Captain Maruo Hamada.

Intelligence Division (INT) Intelligence is without a doubt the most combat-active branch of the Fleet. The division is constantly running reconnaissance and infiltration missions and collecting all sorts of information. Intelligence doesn't just collect information on the enemy -- it collects information on anything and anyone that might be useful in any dimension. The Intelligence Archives are utterly humongous and, of course, only accessible by personnel with the proper clearance. The Intelligence Division is also the most insular of all the divisions; they have separate living areas, separate medical facilities, and separate laws. Interference from other divisions is not tolerated. The Director of Intelligence is Admiral Pavel Antipov, the Deputy Director is Satosuke Kagawa, the Assistant Director is Dr. M, and the Secondary Operational Director is Surface Marshall Tuthau gian Fourdr.

Operations (OPS) Operations is the backbone of the Fleet and oversees the Fleet's daily functions and supplies. Ops is also in charge of writing and enforcing all of the Fleet's regulations. Most Fleet members know Ops as the people you have to see in order to fill out requisition forms for anything. The Director of Operations is Admiral Kazuo Fujimoto and the Deputy Director is Vice Admiral Carlton Ryeman.

Engineering Corps (ENG) If it has moving parts, chances are it falls under the domain of Engineering. The Engineering Corps builds and maintains all of the technology of the Fleet from starships to computers to washing machines. It even technically encompasses the janitorial section of the Fleet. The Director of Engineering is Vice Admiral Teliu Atrell-Ptarmigan and the Deputy Director is Dr. Rustam Zakharov.

Science Directorate (SCI) Dedicated to pure research and the pursuit of knowledge, the Science Directorate is responsible for developing all of the Fleet's technology and weapons and for further advancing the study of science in general. The Science Directorate is probably the most far-flung branch of the Fleet which various buildings and offices and research teams scattered across several dimensions. Scientists in the Fleet enjoy many special considerations and a lot of psychological and disciplinary problems are overlooked in favor of genius. The Science Directorate researches everything you can imagine, from agriculture to astrophysics. Scientists are allowed to pick and choose their projects and pursue personal areas of interest. There's even a section dedicated to Unified Field Theory. The Science Director is Fleet Admiral D. A. R. Piett and the Deputy Director is Dr. Shuuichi Kurata.

Medical Corps (MED) Charged with the maintenance of all Fleet personnel particularly in combat, MedCorps consists of doctors, nurses, and medical technicians, all trained to use the best medical technology ever developed. The Director of Medical is Lieutenant Colonel Sally Veers and the Deputy Director is Dr. Johnathan Cameron.

Assassin Core (a**) As it is the core of the Lady Admiral's command, the Assassin Core names itself accordingly. The Assassin Core is generally the first offensive line for the Fleet, seeking out and destroying enemy commanders on an individual basis. The Assassin Core works closely with the Intelligence Division. The Director of the Assassin Core is Admiral Atri Durris.

Security (SEC) If it moves, chances are it's under surveillance by Security. Security is considered the first line of defense and is trained accordingly. Fleet Security doesn't merely watch events on monitors, they protect Fleet personnel directly and see frequent combat whenever the enemy attempts an attack against a member of the Fleet or one of the Fleet's bases directly. With the streamlining of duties, former Director Atri Durris was exclusively changed to Director of the Assassin Core, so the position of Security Director is currently vacant. It is temporarily held by Lieutenant Colonel Adomital.

Tactics (TACT) The smallest branch, Tactics is not really a branch unto itself so much as it is a special class of commander. The members of the Tactics Division are the very best strategists in the Fleet, from both the Army and the Navy. There are two Tactics Directors, one for the Navy (Gr. Adm. Trant) and one for the Army (General Fourdr). They and their subordinates form the command nexus for all large-scale battles, directing troops and crafting the plans that allow Battle Fleet's soldiers to achieve victory even when outnumbered.

Division of Magic (MAG) From fireballs to wand-waving, the Division of Magic covers everything magical. It is home to some of the stranger members of the Fleet, magicians and sorcerers and wizards of all kinds. It is headquartered in a special pocket dimension to contain all the dangerous magical energies floating around the University of Magic, which is what the mages call their large, sprawling building. A great deal of magical research goes on in there and whole sections of the University have been known to turn spontaneously to dust. Rarely are members of the Division of Magic seen outside the walls of their University. Some of the mages don't even understand that they're a part of the Fleet. Given the chaotic nature of the Division it no longer has a director or any command structure. The last director mysteriously disappeared and no attempts have been made to instate a new one (though technically it should be 6-Mast Iuri Gavrilenko as he was the Deputy Director).

Specialist Corps (SPE) Also known as the dumping grounds, the Specialist Corps includes all individuals whose skills cannot be classed in any other division. The Specialist Corps has no director or leadership and is instead considered a pool of specialized talent that can be called upon as need dictates. No generalization can be made about the Specialist Corps except to say that its members are the best at what they do and that usually what they do is something too obscure to be classed under any other branch.

PsyCorps (PSY) The newest branch of the Fleet, PsyCorps is a dedicated combat unit of psychics of various types including psychokinetics, telepaths, precogs, and clairvoyants. As the branch is so new, it does not yet have a clear line of command or unifying goal. It's main aim for the moment is divisional organization.

There are a total of twenty different ranks in the Fleet divided into three sections: Enlisted, Officer, and Command, and each rank has threeUser Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. variations of address: Navy, Army, and Classed. The ranks are all equivalent and the title of address depends on which section an officer belongs to. You can tell everything you need to know about an officer by glancing at his or her uniform -- rank and term of address included -- provided you know which section uses which term of address. When in doubt, address the individual by their rank level and name. So Captain Hamada could be addressed as O-6 Hamada and Vice Admiral Fujimoto as C-3 Fujimoto. Be careful not to address army folk by navy titles and vice versa; most will be extremely offended. Classed ranks are spoken as "First Squire" and "Sixth Master" and so on.

The single most important concept in the Fleet is loyalty. All Fleet members have sworn allegiance to the Fleet above all else, even religion and family. The Fleet becomes their new religion, the Fleet becomes their new family, the Fleet becomes User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.what every Fleet member lives and breathes and eats. The Fleet also takes care of its members, providing every earthly requirement imaginable and fulfilling as many spiritual requirements as possible. If you still wonder how the Fleet manages to find such loyal officers, consider that only 0.000001% of all evaluated applicants are selected and that loyalty is the key factor in the selection process. Additionally, over 25% of Fleet members owe the Fleet their lives and would be dead had not the Fleet intervened to save them. Most will tell you that they personally owe a life debt to Emperial or the Lady Admiral or Djerod.

The enemy considers the Fleet to be a ragtag band of children, psychopaths, and outcasts otherwise unfit to serve in military duty, but what the enemy fails to understand is that these outcasts have their outcast status in common and their bizarre array of strengths and weaknesses is what makes them so effective. To be sure, the Fleet is a commander's worst nightmare when it comes to organizing missions, but it is a family first and foremost, and people will fight all the harder for their family. While the enemy has tried to incorporate some of the Fleet's characteristics in this regard into their own operation, they have never succeeded. The very nature of their operation prevents them from assembling any sort of force like the Fleet.

The Fleet is an exceptionally diverse family with officers from the following Earth countries: United States of America, Canada, Japan, Russia, Germany, Italy, China, Lithuania, England, Morocco, Iran, Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, Poland, France, Spain, Chechnya, Greece, Ireland, and Hungary, not to mention various other planets and planes of existence.

For security reasons, details of the location and nature of the Fleet's bases and starfleets cannot be reproduced and in any event it is highly unlikely that anyone on Gaia will ever see most of the locations associated with the Fleet. The one thing you will see are Fleet officers visiting Gaia, and hopefully this primer has prepared you with an understanding of where those people are coming from and who they are.

Standard Fleet Equipment

Personal Stealth Unit (PSU)
Generally any member of the Fleet who has to enter potentially hostile territory (Gaia included) is equipped with a PSU. It is attached to the upper arm and when activated generates a stealth shield around its wearer. The PSU is mildly intelligent and can differentiate between what matter it is supposed to shield (the wearer and the wearer's clothes and any held objects) and what matter it should not shield (the floor, nearby objects, chairs). Most PSUs only shield the wearer and cannot create a shield large enough for two people unless the two people are standing practically on top of each other. The most recent model identifies feien as well and will shield any feien it is programmed to within a foot and a half radius, even if the feien is not physically attached to the wearer of the PSU. The PSU is about the size of a cigarette box; most or its bulk is dedicated to its onboard differentiating computer. Thus, PSUs designed to shield more than one person must be bigger to allow for a more intelligent computer. They work most effectively when preprogrammed for individuals but in a pinch they can be re-programmed to suit various needs. PSUs are very heavily shielded and can resist even direct energy blasts.

Embedded Comm Unit (ECU)
The ECU is a wide-spread microtransceiver that processes only audio transmissions. It is so miniscule that it must be embedded to be used, else it would be lost. An ECU can be embedded almost anywhere: in a body part or on a piece of jewelry. It operates by transmitting limited-range sonic vibrations that affect a nearby eardrum as if normal audible sound but cannot be heard to anyone more than seven inches away from the ECU. The most common places for ECUs are: subcutaneously on the ear or behind the ear, earrings, and wristwatches. The ECU is activated by being placed in proximity with an activator chip.

External Comm Unit (XCU)
While there are many forms of external communications device employed by the Fleet, the XCU (pronounced "ex-kyu" wink is the standard. It is a fully-functioning microcomputer with navigational and tracking abilities. Its pandimensional transceiver can receive and transmit signals over a dimensional wavelength variance of .005% which encompasses all the dimensions accessible to the Fleet and far, far more. It can process both audio and holo communications and features a limited-function holo display interface (with limited voice command). The XCU can be hooked up to most computer input and output devices. The device itself is about the size of a can of a soda. It also doubles as a flashlight.

Mobile Communications Station

Localized Dimensional Disturbance Ray (LDD Ray)
The high-end of combat issue weaponry, the LDD Ray is about the size of an AK-47 and will completely eradicate whatever it is targeted at. It features the Fleet's most advanced onboard targeting computer. It works by disrupting the dimensional harmonics of the area it is targeted at, effectively reducing the target particles to nothing. The effect looks much like a disintegrator. When an LDD Ray is fired it leaves a localized spacetime fluctuation that if left unresolved can develop into a tear in the fabric of spacetime (but rarely). Given how powerful the LDD Ray is, they are very tightly controlled.

Standard-Issue Blaster
A blaster is a weapon which fires a blast of small charged energy particles, called a bolt, and is the futuristic version of a gun. Everyone in the Fleet has a blaster manufactured by PietTech which is updated every few years to the latest model. The current model is the A-9, but it will probably soon be replaced by the A-10. The A-9 features adjustable bolt strength settings, from stun to kill, and has security features which ensure it can only be used by a registered user, meaning there is absolutely no danger with bringing this gun into a home with small children. Users are registered by fingerprint, genetic profile, voice, and physical characteristics. The A-9 can even distinguish between cloned individuals, which was its major improvement over the A-7. While the A-9 does have a kill setting, it can only be used during direct assault combat; all other times the kill setting is locked out and the max level available is maximum stun, which will knock a person unconscious instantly.

Neural Net Link
The cybernetic future of computers, a neural net link can allow a human brain to access data stored remotely in other computer systems via wireless technology. It is implanted into the base of the neck at the spine and is designed only to allow remote browsing and modification of files; it cannot be used to modify the contents of the user's mind in any fashion. While the uses for such technology are obviously very powerful, the neural net link is possessed only by a very few Fleet members. It caused headaches and insomnia in many of the test subjects. Director Antipov is one of the few people who can tolerate it and considers it an invaluable tool in his daily work. (At the same time, he is notoriously old-fashioned and still uses paper copies of almost everything.) Hamada also has a neural net link, but a specialized one for interfacing with his homebrew computer systems.

Anything not explicitly stated by the quest description is up to you!

Level One

Locate Julius Cost: 750 pts.
Task: The Ancient Julius has gone missing. He was last seen northwest of Barton Town in the company of a shady character. Wherever he is, he is clearly unable to escape or reply to communication so it is presumed he has been incapacitated by someone or something. If he is indeed unconscious he will require medical aid and should be brought to Dr. M as soon as possible.
Reward: Your choice between roleplaying Julius as your own character or your pick of two of Julius's personal artifacts (Serin's Legacy amulet, the Eyes of Thoth blindfold, the Robe of Errak'din) for your own feien.

Stonewall Cape Cost: 400 pts.
Task: Wedged in Oregon's Klamath Mountains is a stone cairn deep within the earth, in a mountain crevasse. Finding the cairn will be difficult, but travelling into the cracks to get at the cairn will be worse! The payoff will be good, though - in the heart of the cairn is your prize, the Stonewall Cape.
Reward: The Stonewall Cape (S: Stoneskin, S: Natural Barrier)

Enabling Ring Cost: 400 pts.
Task: There's a small floating blimp in the skies above Philadelphia - the kind used to take photos of the surrounding landscape, unmanned. Of course, this airship doesn't just have a camera in it - embedded in the lightweight outer shell is a ring. Good luck going down with this ship.
Reward: Enabling Ring (S: Levitation, S: Magic Hand, DEX +1)

The Trident of Woe Cost: 400 pts.
Task: Someone mistakenly left the Trident of Woe in a dusty corner on Gaia where it was picked up by a person in the Minishops. Find the shop that's got the trident for sale and buy it back before it falls into non-feien hands!
Reward: The Trident of Woe (S: Intimidate, S: Dark Energy Blast, S: Major Illusion)

Bracers of Strength Cost: 400 pts.
Task: Somewhere in the state of Washington is a huge tree which has fallen over a small chasm. Hidden inside its rotting bark are magical bracers, but to get at them you'll have to fight your way through the creatures that call this rotting tree their home.
Reward: The Bracers of Strength (S: Giant Strength, STR +2, S: Sustained Strength)

Josephus's Eye Cost: 450 pts.
Task: The legendary feien Josephus's relics have been lost, scattered across the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. The first of these relics is the Eye, which will reportedly show the way to the others. It is located somewhere around the Chesapeake Bay of Virginia. If you can find the hiding place and solve Josephus's Riddle the Eye will be yours.
Reward: Ring - Josephus's Eye (WIS +1, S: Enhanced Senses, S: Heal)

Level Two

Cloak of Shadows Cost: 400 pts.
Task: In a crumbling graveyard in Washington State, behind the central tombstone is a hole; too dark to see into, but big enough to go down. Somewhere in the depths is the Cloak of Shadows, but that's the only thing we can tell you for sure is down there - there might be other things.
Reward: Cloak of Shadows (S: Dark Disguise, S: Invisibility, S: Shadow Spectre)

Plague Bringer Cost: 500 pts.
Task: In a forgotten alleyway in Durem there's a sick man who comes from a long way away, in obvious agony; help his suffering and you'll get a reward. Of course, you'll have to find out what's causing his illness first...
Reward: Gauntlet - Plague Bringer (S: Rend Flesh, S: Inflict Hypothermia, S: Second-degree Burn, DEX -2)

Chirie's Favor Cost: 450 pts.
Task: The Amish don't take well to magical objects. This one's close to the tiny town of Paradise in Pennsylvania, where it was taken out the area, burnt, the earth where it was burnt salted over, and devoutly prayed over. It's been pretty well scorched and corrupted: nothing grows, and the ruins of the cloth remain. If you restore this little area and remove the corruption, the cloth will come back to its powers...
Reward: Sarong - Chirie's Favor (S: Growth, S: Regeneration, S: Empathy)

Illa's Bracelet Cost: 450 pts.
Task: In the middle of a solar power plant, on the field of solar panels, a corner of one of the panels opens up to reveal a bracelet which is yours to take - if you haven't been burnt horribly or dazzled beyond sight... Oh, and it's been wired to only open in the middle of the day.
Reward: Illa's Bracelet (S: Lightvision, S: Invisibility, DEX +1)

Sander Helm Cost: 400 pts.
Task: Up in the Carolinas, there's an abandoned town that's mostly been burnt to rubble - including the library, which is now a heap of charred wood, walls and old covers. However, the basements still survive... but whoever enters them is going to find something left behind: crazy, screaming insanity as soon as you make your way in. Froth your way in, or froth your way out.
Reward: Sander's Helm (S: Mental Immunity, INT -1)

Josephus's Legacy Cost: 450 pts.
Task: In Boston's harbour, out near a lonely rock, there's a fabulous set of wondrous scale mail. Unfortunately, it's not on the rock. It's inside the rock, in one of the many tunnels and cracks carved by sea creatures. Filled with water. It's going to be dark and wet and lacking oxygen - and worse, the armour is in five pieces. You must have Josephus's Eye in order to do this quest.
Reward: Scale Mail - Josephus's Legacy (S: Underwater Breathing, S: Waterways, S: Water Morph)

Trazyn's Rapier Cost: 450 pts.
Task: A hard-bitten middle-aged woman in Vermont is happy to offer you Trazyn's Rapier... If you can complete the task she puts you through. You have one day and one night to make it over the mountain with various obstacles in your path. If you win, the sword is yours. If you don't, your life is forfeit the next time you see her.
Reward: Trazyn's Rapier (S: Good Luck, DEX +1, S: Head Start)

Level Three

Sign of Abalor Cost: 500 pts.
Task: On the outskirts of the Catskills, a research facility has managed to set up the conditions for a modestly-sized tornado that they keep blowing in a field. This would have nothing to do with the banner of Abalor, except that it was being used as a bookmark and accidentally was sucked into the whirling dervish that won't stop, eating other dangerous debris. It's up to you to get it.
Reward: Banner - The Sign of Abalor (S: Tornado, S: Shield, S: Charm)

The School of Summoning Cost: 750 pts.
Task: Deep in the rainforests of South America is one of the great schools of feien magic, the School of Summoning. It's hidden within the ruins of a great temple and protected by a magical Guardian who likes to play tricks on visitors. Tame the Guardian to learn the secrets of the School of Summoning.
Reward: The Guardian as a familiar and the chance to be the first to walk the Path of Summoning.

Lormak's Tooth Cost: 600 pts.
Task: Up in New Brunswick, there's a hidden cave with one peculiar trait - in the cathedral chamber of this cave, in the sunken bottom, there's a large smooth lump of ice. Deep in this is a magical dagger. Unfortunately, not only is the ice devastatingly hard, but it's so cold that it will blister and burn your skin as soon as you touch it. Have fun.
Reward: Lormak's Tooth (S: Mark Object, S: Minor Healing, S: Ice Seal ,S: Chilly Touch)

Level Four

The School of Mentalism Cost: 750 pts.
Task: Nestled deep within the Himalayas is a small cave and upon its walls is an inscription magically legible to all peoples: "Within this room lies the path to Shambala." How exactly one gets to Shambala from this seemingly empty cave is a mystery, but perhaps a sufficiently enlightened feien will be able to figure it out and reach the fabled kingdom. Though the kingdom's denizens are long-gone, the knowledge they left behind is hidden somewhere within Shambala's hallowed halls... You must have 8+ WIS in order to do this quest.
Reward: WIS+1 and the chance to be the first to walk the path of Mentalism.

Completed Quests
1: Ellymee's Song Cost: 400 pts.
Task: Upstate New York in the wild areas, the animals are pretty peaceful; all except in one glade, where some kind of madness has taken over the creatures and turned them all brain-wormed rabid. Get through this gauntlet, and hidden under the roots of a lilac bush is this flute. And then maybe you'll be eaten by a bear.
Reward: Flute - Ellymee's Song (S: Impart Emotions, S: Placate
1: Verasa's Knowledge Cost: 400 pts.
Task: In an ornate church in New York City is a belltower, and hidden cunningly is a locked metal lockbox shut away somewhere - inside, a piece of jewellry you may find useful. Of course, not only do you have to find the lockbox, but you have to open it.
Reward: Torque - Verasa's Knowledge (WIS +1, S: Detect Lies, S: Metalskin)
1: Aquine's Grace Cost: 400 pts.
Task: Somewhere on one of California's darker beaches is a precarious stone structure, slippery with saltwater and crumbling to boot. However, right at the top and safely tucked away is a bundle of clothes...
Reward: Outfit - Aquine's Grace (S: Balance, DEX +1)

In addition to elemental spells, there are five schools of feien magic. These five schools were magical arts developed outside of the elemental realm, and thus are open to all feien. Of course, at the moment, all knowledge of the five schools has been lost... but perhaps some brave fairy might recover it?

Unlike elemental spells, which use MAG to calculate power, each school uses a different set of stats to calculate point values. There are fifteen spells per school, called ranks or levels. Unlike normal spells, which you pick, spells and abilities from the schools are set in stone. You do not choose individual spells. You must also add the spells in the order listed, so you must start by gaining the 1dt rank spell, then the 2nd, then the 3rd, and so forth. The only thing you get to choose is which school to follow. A feien may only follow one school of magic. Once you have picked a school, you cannot change it.

When calculating your ranks for a school, half-numbers are rounded down. To request a school assignment, post ((***point tracker??***)). I recommend you not pursue any school in which you have less than ten potential ranks.

Information on the schools is NOT publicly available! Sign-ups are posted in the kitchen, and if you sign up, you will be given the "handbook" which contains the school's information and instructions on how to learn the skills of the school -- basically, all the info on the school given below.

Spells and abilities granted by schools must be purchased with points and the costs for all schools are as follows:

1-5: 15 pts.
6-10: 25 pts.
11-15: 35 pts.

The School of Artifice
Most artifacts of great power were in fact created by skilled Artificers. Artificers are those who have learned how to weave magic into their crafts, be they carpenters or stonecarvers, weavers or jewelers.

Ranks: DEX + 1/2 MAG

Handbook: The Artificer Tablets; students will receive a printed copy of the translated tablets done by Julius and Emperial.

Location: (not yet relocated)

Spells:
1: Detect Binding - This feien can identify existing enchantments on an item by touching it.
2: Elemental Binding - This feien can give an object an elemental signature his or her own element.
3: Basic Binding - This feien can give an object an elemental signature of any of the basic five elements (Darkness, Light, Earth, Air, Water).
4: Advanced Binding - This feien can give an object an elemental signature of any element and can additionally bind objects to a single master.
5: Direct Activation - The enchanted object can be activated and deactivated by touch or other direct method.
6: Minor Enchant - This feien can attach to an object a spell from his arsenal up to level 5. The object must first be elementally bound.
7: Remote Activation - The enchanted object can be activated and deactivated by sound or other remote method.
8: Enchant Object - This feien can attach to an object any spell from his arsenal. The object must first be elementally bound.
9: Thought Activation - The enchanted object can be activated and deactivated by thought alone, but must be bound to the user.
10: Greater Enchant - This feien can attach to an object any spell from any element, provided he has someone who can cast the spell on the object. The object must first be elementally bound to the correct element.
11: Minor Charm - Attach a +1 stat modifier to an object.
12: Minor Curse - Attach a -1 stat modifier to an object.
13: Greater Charm - Attach a +2 stat modifier to an object, or two +1 modifiers.
14: Greater Curse - Attach a -2 stat modifier to an object, or two -1 modifiers.
15: Mastercraft Item - This feien can create an item worthy of a quest, with multiple modifiers/enchantments. All Mastercraft items are subject to GM approval. There is an automatic chance mastercrafting will fail, and the points spent are not returned.

In order to create any sort of item, an artificer requires several things.

1) Raw materials. Raw materials must be purchased from the official feien shop.
2) Points. All spells and stat adjustments attached to items must be paid for. Prices are given below.
3) A feien who possesses the spells or ability that are to be bound to the item. The feien must be willing to participate in the binding process.

Everything associated with item construction costs points.

Elemental Binding
In order to attach spells, an object must first be elementally bound to the proper object. An object may have up to two elemental bindings. Elemental binding is not required for non-elemental spells and abilities or stat abilities.
Basic element (Earth, Air, Water, Light, Darkness, Heat, COld) - 15 pts for the first element, 25 points for a second element
Uncommon element (Life, ________) - 25 pts (maximum one uncommon element)
Rare element (Sound, Death, Time, Gravity) - 40 points (maximum one rare element)

Spells & Abilities
Basic Element/Nonelemental - 2x normal spell point cost
Uncommon Element - 2.5x normal spell point cost (rounded up)
Rare Element - 3x normal spell point cost
Stat Abilities - 1.5x normal point cost

Stat Increases
+1 = 150
+2 = 300
-1 = 75
-2 = 150

Image
Having spent so many points constructing your object, you probably want to have an image of it. As soon as I work out how much that will cost (and figure out what artists might be interested in doing it) I'll put details here. Artists can charge RP points (which they will earn for themselves) or gold.

Mastercrafting
You can add one stat modification or spell to an item with guaranteed success. If you want an item that has more than one spell or multiple modifiers, you will have to pay a Mastercraft cost. Mastercrafting also involves a chance of failure. Failure can be either basic (the modifications you attempted to add did not bind), reversed (instead of giving a bonus the item saps the user's strength), or catastrophic (the item is destroyed). Regardless of the type of failure, the points spent are not returned.

First spell = 1 modification
Second spell = 1 modification
Third spell and up = 2 modifications
First Stat +/- = 1 modification (per stat altered, so STR+2 = 1 modification)
Second Stat +/- and up = 2 modifications

1 modification: 100% chance success, no cost
2 modifications: 85% chance success, 10% chance failure, 5% chance reversal, 25 pts.
3 modifications: 60% chance success, 20% chance failure, 10% chance reversal, 50 pts.
4 modifications: 50% chance success, 30% chance failure, 15% chance reversal, 5% chance destruction, 75 pts.
5 modifications: 35% chance success, 25% chance failure, 25% chance reversal, 15% chance destruction, 100 pts.
6 modifications: 20% chance success, 25% chance failure, 30% chance reversal, 25% chance destruction, 125 pts.

For example: I want to craft an item like Illa's Bracelet. Illa's bracelet has two spells and one stat modification. That totals three modifications. The spells are Lightvision and Invisibility. Both are Light spells. It costs 15 points to bind the bracelet for Light spells, 10 pts to add Lightvision, and 50 pts to add invisibility. Illa's Bracelet also has DEX +1, which costs 150 pts. It costs 50 points to make an item with three modifications. The total cost to attempt to make Illa's Bracelet is 275 points. There is a 60% chance of success. Whoever made Illa's Bracelet probably may have had to try twice in order to craft the bracelet successfully. Now you know why quest items cost so much. smile They already include the raw materials and images, too!

What can you do with the items you craft? Anything, really. You can use them yourself or sell them for RP points or Gaian gold or anything else you want. You can give them away for free. You can have people commission you to create items, paying you the points needed up front.

"Wise is the artificer who balances his items, for he who gives away weapons of great power will soon find himself stabbed in the back." - Found inscribed on the tablets of the School of Artifice.

Newbie Guide

So you've got a feien and now you're confused. How do you get started? There's so much to read and do! Follow these steps and you'll be ready to roleplay in no time!

1. Join the Guild.
Because Em is lazy and generally confused, we do not send out invites, you have to apply to the guild! Click here to apply and please include some sort of note so we don't mistake you with one of the random boobs who occasionally wander in and try to join.

If might help expedite your join request if you post a small note here in the main thread saying that you need to be approved.

2. Create a diary thread.
You will need to create a new topic in the guild (make sure your join request has already been approved!) to serve as your diary. You must put [D] in the topic title, but aside from that you can call your diary whatever you like! (Just don't make it something offensive or we might ask you to change it.)

Now would be a good time to reserve a few posts in your diary. Take a look at the other diaries and think of some things you might like to have posts for, like items, extended personality, friends, or a gallery.

3. Set up your Official Post (OP).
You still have the delivery PM? Good! Let's go ahead and set up the first post of your diary, which we call the OP. (see Advanced OP Setup below for more options) If you bought a bloom, you have an image link. All you need to do is display this image in your OP. (Direct-link it.)

If you bought a juvenile, your delivery notice should also have included "Personality" and "Height." If it did not, I forgot, you'll have to ask me for the information you're missing. Place "Personality" and "Height" below your feien's image. (No, it doesn't have to be in that order.)

You may also have a Fleet Report in your delivery PM. You don't have to include this in your diary or save it, but you can if you want. If you do put it in your diary, it should go somewhere other than the OP.

4. Calculate your feien's stats.
If you have a juvenile, you should determine your feien's stat points now. See Assigning Base Stat Points at the bottom of this post. If you have a bloom, you don't have to do this yet, but you can think about what stats you might want when your feien emerges. Once you've picked the stats, put them in the OP under the Personality and Height.

5. Count your points.
Now would be a good time to count your Points. Points are what you use to buy spells and abilities and quests for your feien, and also grow your feien up! If you need help doing this, just ask around, your fellow feien owners will be happy to offer tips and advice. It's been everyone's experience that counting points is easy if you just try. Don't forget: you must include your overall point total (don't subtract points spent!) somewhere on the first page of your diary so the shop can see it.

5. Post the RP Agreement.
When you post the RP agreement, you officially enter the feien roleplay! You must post the agreement and a link to your OP in the main thrad so we can link to your diary and know where to look to keep track of your feien.

Quote:
I understand that if I want to do anything mischievous like breaking into the offices in the new building I must ask OOC permission first or risk my feien being taken away. I understand that because my feien is from the Fleet I must comply with breeding terms. I don't get to keep the offspring or receive any compensation. Once more, I understand that OOC mischief must be brought to Em's attention first via AIM or PMing the shop. I also understand that I must never, ever, ever PM RikProwley (excepting official business from other shops). If I want to reach Em/Rik, I will IM or e-mail or PM the shop. I will not PM RikProwley. I understand that I am being held to the honor system with regards to my points and everything else and that there may be consequences for violating this trust. I promise I will do my best to keep track of my points fairly. I promise that I will do my best to remain at the very least civil in public on the main thread and in the guild. I understand that there is a difference between IC and OOC conflicts and that I should try to remember that when conflicts arise. If I need help I may contact a shop staff member. I have read and reviewed all the shop rules and will comply with them. If I have any problems, I will PM the shop account privately to discuss them.

You must post that entire paragraph and the link to your OP! Don't forget the link!

6. Make some posts.
Post a few entries in your diary, hang out in the thread, roleplay in the guild! Don't forget to add those points!

7. Buy some items.
The feien shop in the guild is help yourself. Just post what you're taking, send the trade to the feien account, and add the items you buy to your diary. Please note that custom items may not be available.

If you purchased a bloom, complete step 10 before steps 8 and 9.

8. Learn some spells and abilities.
Now that you have some points, you can buy your feien some skills (unless you have a bloom, in which case you should grow your bloom into a juvenile first). Check out Spells & Abilities.

Every feien has an element, some feien have two, and your feien can learn any spell or ability associate with that element, or any of the "nonelemental" spells, which are open to all feien. (see Panelementalism below for ways to buy spells outside of your feien's element)

I recommend you start off with the easy things: buy Flight and the 0-level spell or ability for your feien's element.

Your feien has as many spell slots as s/he has MAG, and you can buy more spell slots if you have high MAG. 0-level spells don't count toward spell slots, which is why you should always buy all the ones you can get!

9. Buy some Stat Abilities.
In addition to the elemental spells, each Stat has associated abilities. These do not use up spell slots. If your feien has a very high or very low stat, you should try to buy the abilities associated with that stat. It's like unlocking the power of the stat. Your feien might have 10 DEX, but unless you buy Form you can't merge objects together! No matter how high the stat is, if you don't unlock the ability, the stat is useless.

10. Grow your feien.
With some points under your belt or gold in your pocket, you're ready to grow your feien into his or her next stage of life. This can be done in the Point Tracker. Depending on when you bought your feien and what kind of feien you bought, prices will vary. Check the Growth post for the exact rate. If you're not sure which category your feien falls under (pre-drawn, pre-Fleet, post-Fleet) don't hesitate to ask!

If you're just growing your bloom into a juvenile, it's always 25 points or 500g, and you should now go back up to step 8.

10. Increase your stats and go on quests!
By now you've been roleplaying a while and have tons of points, enough to consider improving some of your feien's weaker stats or maybe bumping that nine up to a ten to unlock a new ability! You can do both in the Point Tracker. Don't forget, sometimes it's cheaper to go on a quest for an item that adds a stat or ability than it is to buy more stat points.

11. Buy new art or Enhance your feien.
Your feien has all sorts of cool gear and powers now, so maybe you should consider bumping your feien up to the next evolution with a gemstone Enhancement, or just buying a new image that has all your cool swag in it. Buying new images and Enhancement are much the same as buying growth, which you know how to do. For Enhancement you also need to get a gemstone, which you can buy from the shop or another player, get by killing off one of your feien*, or find on a quest.

*We don't recommend this. Really. But we won't pretend it's impossible.

12. Enroll in a School of Magic.
So you've got the stats you want, maybe a couple cool quest items, you've maxed out your spells... it might be a good idea to start studying a School of Magic. You now have 15 more spells and abilities to unlock, plus schools lead to all sorts of new and exciting things to use your points on.

13. Quest for Immortality.
So a year or two has gone by, and you suddenly remember that feien aren't immortal, that they only live a couple of years. Now would be a good time to work on that immortality quest so you and your feien can keep questing for all eternity. Alternately, you can let your feien die, and if you roleplayed your feien for most of his or her life, you get to keep the gemstone. (If you just toddle off and disappear from the shop, the shop keeps the gemstone and can sell it off.)

Congratulations, you have now done everything there is to do with your feien!

Advanced OP Setup
Don't read the following unless you're really into the idea of having a more complicated OP setup. If you just want your OP done with, stick to the simple instructions above.

While it is highly recommended that your OP be the first post in your diary, you can also make it the second post if you want to put a navigation or title post first. But the OP must be the first or second post and can only be preceeded by a navigation or title post.

If you have multiple feien, you can put them all into the same post, use consecutive posts (post 1=feien A, post 2=feien B, post 3=feien C), make different diaries (this is a hassle, you have been warned, and you don't get double points for posting the same post in both diaries), or have different pages in your diary for each feien. So page one could be feien A, page 2 feien B, page 6 feien C. (But again, you are warned that the multi-page setup, while it does give the most dedicated space for each feien, is a hassle.)

You don't really have to put Personality and Height underneath your cert image, you can put them somewhere else, so long as they are still in the OP. If you imgleft or imgright your feien's cert, you can put the stats alongside. Personally I recommend this, I think it looks nicer.

Panelementalism
Don't read the following until after you've bought a few spels and abilities from your feien's normal element and have some familiarity with the process.

It is possible for your feien to learn spells and abilities from other elements. You will need 10 or more INT, the ability Panelemental (INT10), and empty spell slots. Each element has elements listed in parentheses alongside, for example: Water (Light, Cold). If you have a Water feien with Panelemental, you can learn Light or Cold spells level five or less. It will cost twice as many RP points, so a spell that could cost 20 points costs 40.

You can also gain extra elements by merging with gemstones.
TRANSFER GUIDE

READ EACH STEP THREE TIMES. I MEAN IT.
Everything you need to do is given below! Take notes if you have to. I have to finish writing up everything in the main shop, I don't have the time to personally walk everyone through this and double-check that you've done everything. If you review each step three times it will hopefully cut down on errors a lot.

OKAY, to make things as simple as possible I am going to attempt to give everyone a switching-over guide. This is a step-by-step procedure for everyone to follow.

1. Total up your points. You may count any points in your diary thread, in guild RP threads, and in this topic only. You may not count posts from the old feien threads. The point values are in the Points post. Write this number down.
Notes:
- I know everyone must be looking at the new point costs and how many points they have and freaking out. Don't worry -- your point totals will soon be increasing dramatically as you begin roleplaying in this thread and in guild threads. Remember that those two things can get you massive points, plus three points for the compile.
- The fact that the point totals are so low compared to the prices is -intentional-. This is actually a shop restart more than anything else. You guys have a leg up on any newcomers, but I'm helping to level out the playing field here.
- You can count points from any old journal threads in the guilds. If you transferred, all your old journal threads should be unlocked and you are welcome to use them as your new journals. If you don't want to use the journal thread, please make a new post at the end of the journal with the point total from the journal and a note to have the thread locked. If you have an old journal thread that wasn't unlocked tell me, I prolly just missed it.
- You do not need to subtract points for anything. If your feien is already a juvenile, you do not need to subtract 25 points. If you have an adult, you don't need to subtract 125. If you're Ice, you don't need to subtract any points from your completed quest. (Uncompleted quests have been nullified, sorry.) You don't need to subtract points for spells and abilities either. (But you don't get to keep your spells and abilites; more on that later.) Etc. etc.
- If you just want to RP as a basic feien without abilities or quests or anything you don't need to total your points except for the growth. So you can just count to 25 and then count to 100 and stop and never count posts again. You have the option to saying, "Hey, I don't want the hassle of all these points and figuring out abilities and everything" and that's a-okay!
- Remember that if you are doing points, you ought to keep track of them somewhere on your diary's front page. I should be able to search for the term "points" and find your overall point total (including points used) so I know you're not just spending points at random.

2. Decide what you want to do about your OP/Status Post. If you want to keep mine, fine. If not, you need to make your new OP in your diary or start a new diary thread. If you want to start a new thread, go ahead and do that now. If you want to have my post deleted from the top of your thread, start making your OP now and we'll worry about the post deletion later. Remember, your new OP/Status Post must be either the first post in the thread or the second post if you want to put a navigation or title image post first. Or if you want your feien in separate posts, however many posts you want/need. @_@

3. Set up your new statistics. Remember the rules, remember the handy dandy spreadsheet. If you're starting a new diary thread or changing one of your first page posts into your new Status Post, put the stats there along with the image of your feien.
- Everyone needs to retotal for the base 50 points. If you had earned stat points before, sorry. Again, this is a restart, we're leveling the field. Besides, I was so sporadic with those stat points that it would be unfair to keep them because some people got more attention than others because I'm a spaz.

4. Spells and abilities. This is going to hurt, but... take away all of them to start. Even the 0-levels. Now you know how you had those point totals? This is the first thing you can spend points on. See the spells & abilities post for the costs.
- I haven't got that post finished yet, I'm about to go work on it as we speak. (Thankfully most of it's already written in the old thread.)
- Remember you can only list spells and abilities you've actually bought this time around. No putting things you're planning on getting in parentheses.
- For the love of all things holy, if you spend no other points, spend the five for flight magic or you'll have a landlocked feien. (Unless you -want- a landlocked feien.)
- Post your point purchases in the appropriate thread in the guild. You don't have to wait for me to note your purchase to add your new spells and abilities. You can go ahead and add them at the same time as you post how many poitns you're spending.
- Also do any stat point increase purchases now if you like. (And if you have the points for it.)

5. You can put your shop-bought inventories in your OP/Status Post if you want but you don't have to.

6. Don't forget to include your base personalities and heights! You can't change your base personality -- yet. It must be in your OP/Status post, though.
Notes:
- If you want you can put a personality blurb in the OP/Status Post too.

7. At this point you should have your OP done. It should contain your image, your stats, your height, and your base personality -at the very minimum-. Everyone, even people not keeping track of points, must have those things! If you're doing points, you should also have your spells and abilities in this post. Remember, optional: shop inventories, personality blurbs. Nothing besides these things can be in your OP.

8. VERY VERY IMPORTANT. Please read and agree to the following.
Quote:
I understand that if I want to do anything mischievous like breaking into the offices in the new building I must ask OOC permission first or risk my feien being taken away. I understand that because my feien is from the old shop I do not -have- to agree to breeding terms but that I may volunteer if I want my feien to have offspring of some sort. If I do volunteer, all breedings are at the Fleet's discretion.

Post that whole paragraph here on the main thread. If you have not posted this paragraph, YOU MAY NOT RP. Also post the link for your diary thread and a list of all your feien (only names required). When I see this paragraph I will link your diary for all your feien and you will be cleared to RP when the thread is open for RP.
Notes:
- If you need your old OP deleted, tell me that now, too.
- If you need anything else from my end, mention it now or forever hold your peace.
- If you are keeping my post, please post whatever you want edited into it now. This means your new stats, or if you like, convert my post into a navigation or title bar post.
- If you want to offer your feien up for Fleet breeding say so now.
- Do not post your agreement paragraph and diary link until after you have set up your new OP!
- Make sure you posted any RP points spent in the appropriate point tracking thread in the guild.

9. That's it, your diary should be set up now that you've gotten that info down and posted that paragraph. You're now cleared for RP again. If you think I've missed anything here, please tell me so I can edit it in! If I wrote anything in a confusing manner please correct me now! heart to you all.

What's with the smilies?
The smilies rank a person by their bribe status. The more you have, the bigger a contributor you've been! The scale is roughly 5k - on the list; 15k - heart ; 25k - 4laugh ; 35k - 3nodding ; 45k - whee ; 55k - ???. Non-gold bribes and donations also earn value; the exact value is subjective. It's just a fun way to display contribution levels, like in a fund raiser! And it amuses me. rofl
