Oh pointy fish,
Oh pointy fish,
Anoint my tank,
A pointy-pointy!

I don' watch TV very much.
X-rays I took today! (we have a new digital system at school, yay!)

For the shoulder one (second image) I had to put a torso and an arm together, that's why it looks so funky xd
Hahaha, that sounds like so much fun, a people puzzle! =D Your school sounds neat.
It actually it a lot of fun on lab days. The trouble with the torso and arm though is that they both weigh like 23849623478364 pounds xd My favourite x-rays to take are of extremities because we have just individual feet and hands that are nice and lightweight and you can easily use masking tape to keep it in position.

The digital system is sooo cool though. The images turn out way nicer than film images and they're on the computer, so I can show them off!

Oh! My dentist has a digital x-ray system! They used to take the x-rays, then we'd wait for a long time, then they'd have pictures... now they take the x-ray, turn around, and there it is on the screen. Snazzy stuff.
Heh, most modern facilities have digital systems, and digital systems are actually cheaper to buy brand new than film ones now. The only places still using film are ones that had it before digital came out and they can't afford to switch over.

Our hospital was built just a few years ago so they got the best of everything. Our school..well...heh, we get hand-me-downs and garbage x-ray equipment. This digital system for us took the entire year's budget. They can't even afford to buy us new desks and chairs and our's are horrible.

Dapper Waffles

Oh, okay... well, I don't get x-rays all that often, and last time I went to the dentist was the first time I'd seen that.
Heh, not to say digital isn't awesome.

Patients absolutely love it when we tell them that their family doctors already have their x-rays, seconds after we take them.

After our first clinical rotation my whole class got spoiled by the digital system. Film is so slow and...picky.

It'd be better for you guys to learn on digital, if that's what most hospitals are using now... no sense in teaching the film if you won't be using it.

Dapper Waffles

No point in using film, really. Such a waste of everything.

Sparkly Hoarder

Well, some photographers still prefer film, though most have converted to digital now.

I had a photography class in high school and we got to develop our own prints in the darkroom. That was fun. But... that was also like... some time ago... XDD
Well, like I said, most places using film can't afford to switch over to digital. Our College program is specifically designed to feed its graduates into our city and the regional towns. Our city has one hospital on digital and two clinics using film. The regional hospitals are about 50/50 when it comes to film vs. digital. There's a need to learn it, but definitely not to practice on it entirely.

But yeah, film systems are so expensive to maintain. Not only do you have to buy the film, you have to buy the chemicals for the processor as well. And all of the plumbing needs like a silver reclaimer. Aaand safely disposing of waste films, since you can't just throw them out in the garbage.

But digital would be susceptible to computer problems such as viruses, hackers, hard drive failures... etc. *shrugs* Better, but still has some risks/downfalls.

I had lots of tasty food for dinner tonight ( 5 course meal at a country club... heart ) and now I'm sleepy...

...So, good night.
