Daniel stared at the ceiling, pale eyes distant behind his glasses before taking a deep breath. The enchanted portal to the HQ always slightly un-nerved him; but he wrapped his fingers slightly more firmly round the cinnamon-smelling wand in his hand and smiled down at it. What must be done, must be done...

He stepped through and blinked as the scenery changed with an odd skewing of perspective. And then it was clear again, and the spacious HQ had replaced the dusty shop floor. He pushed his glasses further up his nose with one finger and called out cheerfully.

"Anyone here?"

@Bloody Anubis: No... I'm actually just used to threads that are all 'Nooo, we can't have non-guardians join! X_X That might mess up our plotline, nevermind we're being stiff-necked buttmunches!' Of course, this's never happened in the GotP thread, but it's always best to check. ]

Sibuna was still getting used to that portal herself. It was just unnatural to an old-fashioned girl like her, not to mention someone else had been rubbing their fingers on that gold way before her. The young woman sat on a couch in the lobby, her long legs curled up beneath her simple skirt as if to hide the tennis shoes she'd worn to work with it. She was too wary to venture in much farther yet. Darva, in the form of a large wand and nameless for the moment, lay in her lap.

As Daniel suddenly appeared, she jumped horribly, sinking back into the couch cushion until she could come to the realization that it was a man. Well, who else would it be? Sibuna was quite imaginative; she would have been less surprised if the other guardians were oddities with tentacles.

He seemed harmless enough, with his glasses and whatnot. So... normal. The friendly sort of chirrup made her a little less on edge, perhaps.

"Ah..." Um hmm, do go on? "Are you, um... Hello."

A reply greeted him, and the man turned, eyes automatically seeking the speaker. Hmm! Yet another he had not seen before... he racked his brains, and remembered a small '05' had been in that weird book when he received the slender wand. That meant that there must have been another wand finder after him... he'd already met four other guardians, so that would make that there were... more?
Stupid, stupid, he admonished himself with a brief screwing up of his face. Replacing the expression with a friendly smile, Daniel turned, awkwardly juggling taking off his coat and hanging it up, whilst all the time keeping the wand with the wisp of firey mist steady and still.

"Good morning, miss," he replied, coming over to lean against the wall opposite the sofas. "Pleased to meet you." And somewhat old-fashionedly, he bowed slightly from the waist.

For goodness sake, it was just a PORTAL. Patrick, being the dorkator he was, rather enjoyed it... and that's how he popped in! Lahela was latched onto his back and Yashima was cuddled in his arms.

The little fox had his fist in his mouth, sucking at the hard little knuckles fiercely with a purr. Ears were fluffed out, tail swishing slowly, golden eyes taking in everything. People? New people!

Lahela was squeaking, arms waving with a churr. "Down! Liann! Down down down!"

Sibuna kept an eye on that wand being flipped around. Oh! Another one! And this one was... smoking? She glanced up as he spoke to her, slowly but surely beginning to warm up to this man. Had she acted like others her age, she might have quirked a brow at the bow, but she wasn't. She still felt unsure, but she felt much better. More friendly. She could convince herself that he was just another guy that came into the diner and ordered his coffee with heaps of sugar.

She smiled slowly, in that both friendly and automatic way of hers. "The ple-"

But then someone else appeared, this being with loud noises emitting from him. Once again, the waitress had sunken back into the couch, blinking towards Patrick. She saw no wand with him, but there was a rather curious-looking baby with him.

"Seems like you've got a handfull." She commented after a moment.

Daniel blinked as the portal twisted his vision slightly, then a tall dark silhouette appeared. A familiar one? His mouth turned up in a one-sided smile.

"Yo, Patrick," he said somewhat laconicaly, raising a hand and allowing the blue shirt sleeve to revealed an arm laced with thin silver scars. "Long time no see?" For the ivory wand he remembered had gone, and a new face peered out curiously from the pierced man's arms.

He turned back to the girl, suddenly remembering his manners again. "By the way, I'm Daniel," he grinned.

The parrot anthro strapped to his back giggled madly at the sight of the others, arms waving with a trill. "Kaaaaaylinn? Kaylin! Lahela Kaylin!" She giggled madly while her brother continued to just suck at his fist.

That man-thing! He was familier! Those fluffy ears perked up, the hand not in his mouth raising in a vague wave. Patrick just sighed, his multiple piercings glittering. "I've got three more at home. Too many. Hey, Daniel."
