There hasn’t been an attack in 100 years.

Or that’s what historical records say anyways. I am uncertain if they truly have a date down pact, or if it is just an estimation. Either way it brings joy in the hearts of few, knowing that within these walls we are safe. It brings hope knowing we do not have to leave in fear of the threat of the titans.

Personally, I feel something akin to a caged mouse. There is nothing I can do about it, not really. This is the only life I have known. Its not easy living like this. We have limited land to till, limited supplies to give out. Poverty is abundant in most areas, but still somehow we survive. Im surprised they haven’t made a limit to the numbers of children people are allowed to bare, but in a way I guess they do. The limited land means limited space, so we watch what we can.

Some days I wish we were allowed to perch on the tops of the walls to look beyond, to see the homelands we have not tilled in those 100 years. Maybe one day I will.
