Brackish water is regular water mixed with a little sea salt. Theres not enough salt in the water to have salt water fish. Fresh water fish seem to fair better in brackish water.

*pats* you should get more!!! *huggles beta fish* my mum and i have 3 between us (rice and pearl shal hopefuly be mating soon ^.^) and 3 or my mums coworkes have beta. they great!

I had a betta once, he lived for about a week, and died when we changed the water... *Shrugs* Never really got attached to that boy.

Mrph, I'm not much a fish person in RL... Expect when, like, SCUBA diving, or snorkling, like, nifty wild fish you can play with...

I have a 20 gal and a 50 gal. My 20 is set up currently I have to wait until I get into a bigger house for my 50. My 50 is gonna be a salt water tank!! My fiance already promised to get me a clown fish!!

I had some Beta once <<

Our fish guy said you could put CERTAIN types of fish in with them...one of which could be one of those little bottom sucker things.

So we had a Beta..and a bottom sucker..and all was well for many weeks.

Then one day the little bottom sucker decided to bite the Beta, give him finrot, and kill him.

Turns out we had an aggressive bottom feeder...one out of like..hundreds they see, that just so happened to have an attitude problem XD what the hell?

Gah... cleaning a 20 gallon fish tank that hasn't been cleaned for over three years is disgusting, tiring, and the algae gets to your head (as in... you look pale, and think differently). x.x

I just found out that a person that owns a site that breeds RL bettas is going to be in my city at a college to talk about breeding her bettas. And guess what? The meeting is on my birthday! How odd. ><

I've noticed that so many things begin, happen, and/or end on my birthday. @.@

I have a 10gal tank, but that was for my rat... *Misses her ratties and sighs heavily* I used to have one, and then he died (he was a feeder rat, and thus not entirely healthy when I got him), and then I got Vinnie and Fat Tony which were normal domesticated rats, and Vinnie died in, like, October, while Tony died in Feb... I miss my babies... sad

Never had rats. Closest I ever came were gerbils. Hated those things. They would bite the heck outta me. My little brother was mean to them so they were mean whenever I had to fed them. We thought I killed one once. It bite right through my finger and wouldn't let go. So I flung it across the room ripping the skin off and the gerbil hit the wall and stopped moving. I was hoping it was dead cause I had to have stitches. That stupid thing was just knocked out!!

...okay I hate to be a jerk, but thats just horrible hoping something is dead no matter what it does to you ;_; Its just instinct to bite.

NEVER PUT BOTTEM SUCKERS WITH BETA!!!!
one of those bottem suckers (even the little 1/2 inch ones) can kill off coy carp! TRUE! they are horrible tamk mats to big fins/other agressive fish.
