Another small chuckle slipping his lips, he shook his head and let one leg slip from the solid ground into the water, taking his whole being with him. Almost a graceful entrance, he splashed softly as his body settled and he took in the cool waters around his leather like wings. Feeling slightly naked being in so little with this... pale china doll like woman, which he was STILL amazed she'd not smeared by the what could be harsh waters against her beautiful frame.
"Water doesn't bite, I know this... I was just enjoying watching your swim... you seem to have some talent." This he said with little and actually no perversness.

A flick of his eyes & a silly, shocked smile was the only response Zell could give to the princess after her comment without... he shrugged, pushing the thoughts away.

He laughed with un-mocking joviality at that confession. "Makes it sound like he's still trying!"

Despite the distance she portrayed, he felt a little relieved to hear something about her.
"I think you do beautifully in the water... wings or not." He spoke lightly, his hand lightly coasting the rippling surface around him as he moved further in, feeling the waters grow to his chest a bit.
"I, on the other hand... love water, but I just never had the time to swim.. not that I'm a weak swimmer or anything, I just can't get away to do it." He dazed off in the waters a bit.
"So this is a bonus to having your company."
He was growing slightly bolder, adding more appreciation to her then he did at first. However, still remaining a gentleman.

He wished their meals would hurry up and come already, though he knew that was silly after having only just ordered. Zell was tired of this verbal sparring. He didn't even know the rules or in what game they played. 'Technically' he supposed it was still for Maryline's interests, though even in game he hated to think of her like that: as some prize or something. And that would be if she had not already voiced her choice. Of course Ryu would not know about the princess & her protector's charade...


"Hyne! If I got e-mails from any of my instructors now I'd probably flip!!" Even from Quistis, since the fistfighter had not heard from his friend since finding himself with features of a moomba & stuck having the Bahamut anthro Seifer as a family member of sorts. He was laughing so hard tears showed in his eyes and Zell reached for his water again. "Dude. That's a dedicated teacher. That's cool. Way cool."

He looked up, still grinning over it. "Do ya take 'em? The tests, I mean?"

"Can't impress everyone" He mumbled and lightly slipped onto his back, letting his large wings spread out slightly as he floated effortlessly. Eyes slightly shut, he just listened to the water rustling in the hollow room, enjoying the feeling of the water on his wings. Was his life really that much hell? He saw it as a blessing to do the things he did... he always loved it and loved showing the world that anything is possible.... but did it really matter to some in the end? Possibly not...
A sigh... he was deep in thought... and that with company.. bothered him a bit.

He caught Maryline's jump more than their odd (by circumstance) companion's wince and looked troubled by it. His laughter dropped suddenly & Zell frowned at himself a brief moment before grinning and giving a much quieter almost subdued chuckle. This night was going to be tough. Tougher likely than beating the sorceress. His ears flattened at the other man's 'sh' and he tensed a bit before shrugging his shoulders and grinning once more. "Yeah. 'specially if he knows computers near like he probably knows math." Hazel blue eyes twinkled. "There's ways."

There were ways. He knew of them, but could not do them. Seifer knew them though. Worked on them with part of their home security, the technical side. Zell had helped with the mechanical for it, but Zell's mechanical skills didn't always place him high in the inner programming. went back to the poor writing & spelling & typing thing.

Eyes fluttering from open to close, he took in a deep breath, feeling her wake hitting his wings as she coasted below... was he being selfish in this? Maybe this was all the things he wanted... perhaps he should show gratitude to her for keeping him company despite his seeming to irritate her at points.
Shifting his weight, he brought his feet down and stood in the water, watching her closely.
