Exon:
At his decision, the silent firstborn crept off of Malakai's shoulder with the widest stare he had ever seen. Brows knit, still in irritation from this whole situation being thrust upon his tiny shoulders, Exon leaned away from Tomas as he grit his teeth. He couldn't have foreseen the small purple arms reaching out and wrapping around him, though, and had no time to dodge the act. Once it was upon him his wings flapped unpleasantly as voices began murmuring and giggling all around them and the Elder Dux-Lamia just watched in silence. In all of the ruckus he could barely make out full sentences, let alone who was saying what, but his red eyes caught sight of a blue and yellow woman, the desert sand teen, and the lily a** male who had called him a 'brat' talking to a still flustered Yukiko.
It was then Malakai spoke, and even as Exon tried in vain to pry the purple luxia from himself, he turned to give his attention. Then, suddenly, the darkness around them began to move with an all encompassing silence. It writhed and stretched, and his small body did the same in an effort to get away from both the silent one and the encroaching dark.
It didn't matter what he had chosen, did it!? They were going to snuff him out just because he wasn't one of them! ...But... then why was this one still there, clinging to him happily? And why... was the darkness so warm and inviting? Though muffled from the darkness, he could make out Malakai still speaking – the seal, his seal, was now to be broken, along with the seal on the other with him. This Silent luxia was the first of their kind? The first of Eden and Yukiko's... and he was the first of something far different.
Exon felt himself stretch comfortably, though without his consent. His wings opened wide, stretching up so the tips were well above them. A grumble of a sigh left him, and then the darkness fell away. Once he regained control, his first reaction was to shove the purple luxia, his large wings pulling him away further defensively. The action wasn't harsh or threatening, he just didn't want to be touched any longer. Only once the contact was broken, however, did he notice that the Silence was larger and winged.
A quiet sound left him as he observed this sudden change, and then he looked down at himself, eyes wide as he flexed his long, strong fingers. Shock was across his face for the longest time as the Elder continued to dictate, slowly getting replaced with a rather intimidating smirk. Heh... Who's the brat now? His tail lashed behind him, wings moving restlessly – they were huge compared to most luxia, and might have even been larger than Malakai's spread. Unfortunately, the mirth of the situation was quickly stamped out as he and the Elder were wracked with a similar feeling of darkness and the once Cruxia felt a dangerous pang in his chest that kicked the breath out of him.
With the seal lifted, he was no longer a child. With it gone, he felt empowered and useful. With it gone... he could feel Azael's machinations toward building an army and one writhing, unpleasant soul was waiting to be collected by the demon.
However, there was nothing any of them could do at that point. Leaving the realm to hunt him down would be suicide for anyone, much less a lone luxia, and instead he turned pointedly back to the silent and flowery Tomas and held his hand out, expecting a tight grip in return for a manshake. There would be no more hugging between them, as far as he was concerned, but he wasn't against shows of praise and if they were to fight this war together then they were brothers in arms just as all the others were.
”So,” he started once he and Tomas' display was concluded, turning to Malakai with a tense expression, ”What should we do now, Boss?” He could feel it same as Kai and perhaps his face rang true of what the dux-lamia was feeling but not showing. Exon knew what he had to do now; there were people he wanted to protect and demons he wanted to get back at.
There was a war coming... but now one side had an ace in the hole.
Eden:
Glassy green eyes quickly found the two children as the purple one embraced the Darkling and Eden let out a quiet huff as she slowly began regaining control of her emotions. Her face contorted, first carrying a smile and then twisting to being on the verge of violent tears once again, but she held them back at the show of affection to the one who had cared for her as a lantern – the one who could have turned on them all at a moment's notice. He had every reason to in her mind, every right, but... he chose not to, and all the gingerbread luxia's mind could connect as far as the dots went were between her “brother” and the cold one she was currently being comforted by.
Was there... something more between them? Maybe something even they weren't aware of?
With a sniffle, she let out a pitiful laugh and pulled herself back from the hug with Yukiko and Felix, giving the younger boy a quick hair ruffle before attempting to right herself. Her hands went to her face and wiped away any remaining tears, then went to her hair and made sure her thick green mane was in order. Speaking of green, where had the willow girl gone? She was quiet, but Eden had enjoyed her company, if only for the luscious green she carried with her being so familiar and lovely.
Malakai's words interrupted her calming thoughts, however, as he began to address them all once more. Though he said he wasn't their leader, he certainly acted like it and she sneered at the first bit of information he gave. Her distasteful look didn't last long, however, as the shadowy tendrils of the Regnum rose up and swallowed both of the children. Eden's nails dug into her own arms as she gave a silent cry, her thoughts right on par with Exon's at that precise moment but she could not feel the comforting warmth the Regnum gave to reassure her nothing was wrong. Before she could manage to utter anything, even a simple 'no', the darkness of the realm drew back... and there were the two once more, completely changed.
A quiet sigh parted her lips as her eyes slowly widened. That was waiting beneath her “brother”'s seal the entire time? For a split second, Eden nearly resolved to stop thinking of him as her brother at all from his appearance alone but a certain name he called Malakai swept all infatuated thoughts under the rug in an instant. Boss, he said. Boss. For show, surely the Elder would rebuff such a name but something tugged at Eden and she couldn't help but think it was the Dux-Lamia's fault for Exon calling him that in the first place, some how. Those thoughts, however, would have to be kept to herself. Especially after this display, she was certain no one shared her sentiments and she would have to keep them at bay to stay on the same path as everyone else – the same path as he was now on.
Instead of commenting, she turned to Yukiko and forced a sly grin upon her face. ”Why don't you go to him?” she knew it was what the snow girl wanted, it was written plain as day across her face. Gently, her tanned arms reached out to Felix and called him over so she could keep an eye on him while his sister tended to the Darkling.
He did ever so need tending...
