The shop was quiet that morning. Rose was sprawled out upon a couch, an icy glass of water sitting on her forehead. It was only spring and the heat was horrid. She felt like her skin was going to melt off her bones, and no amount of fans scanning the room, or cold glasses on her head seemed to help. But, at least her garden didn't seem to mind. The sudden heat wave almost helped it, instead of hindering it's growth from the heat stealing the water from the soil.

"This can't be normal..." Rose mumbled to herself, grabbing the glass and placing it on the coffee table. She sat up, albeit unwillingly, and headed over to the window. She peered out, watching the waves of deforming heat rise from the cobble stone streets of Durem. She sighed and spun, heading back to the couch, when she paused. She had almost missed it. A sudden... flash.... or wave of something familiar. Almost like a new essence calling to her.... But it was so small... Was it the heat playing a trick on her mind?

"Man, is it HOT."

The sound of a female voice rang out from the front of the shop, followed soon by what sounded to be a light struggle and a bit of grumbling as the guest removed their shoes and placed them neatly on the rack. "Rose~" the voice rang out again, this time a lot more cheerful and a lot less exasperated. The faint padding of footsteps on the floor sounded and soon a girl in her early twenties appeared in the living room, sweat beading on her brow, causing her strawberry blonde hair to stick to the sides of her cheeks.

Grabbing her white t-shirt between her fingers, Robyn fanned herself as she smiled a little tiredly at the shop owner, resting one palm against the arm of the chair for support. "Hey, does it seem hotter than usual to you?" The girl inquired curiously, tilting her head to one side.

"It seems unfair for it to be this hot." Rose droned, too drained to properly greet the woman. She headed to the small table and picked the wet glass from the top, gulping down the icy water. "Would you like a glass, Robyn?" She smiled, heading to the kitchen to pour herself some fresh water. The sticky, humid air cooled the water far too fast for Roses comfort, and she was almost wishing at that point for a freak blizzard. If only...

Madison pulled open the door to the shop and stepped inside with a heavy sigh at the unbearable heat. She pushed up her sunglass to rest them atop her head as she looked around the shop. It wasn't one that she was familiar with, and she hadn't planned to stop inside it. But the heat and the bright sun beating down on her, she felt the need to get out of the sun for fear of burning her pale freckled skin.

She noticed other people were also in the shop. Chewing her lip, she hesitated for a brief moment before walking over to them. Since she had already entered the shop, she decided that she might as well stay for a while. "I don't think there's ever been a summer this hot before," she said, fanning herself with a hand.

The tiny door sprung open with the soft tinkling of a bell and the harsh click-clack of silver high heels. A short young girl fell into the store, her straw-like beach blonde hair fell around her face and shoulders like a mane. She almost ran into a innocent customer in her rush to escape the violating heat.

"Hooo boy!" She squealed, pulling her tiny tank top from her sticky skin and fanning herself dramatically. Though it seemed perfect weather, for her denim skirt and little baby tee didn't leave much to the imagination. "Do you have ah--" Before she could successfully trip over the step into the store, the little Asian girl untied her ankle-breaking heels and put them on the rack before continuing. "Is there a mirror anywhere in here?!" Digging through her winged mini backpack, she picked up a compact, doing her best at damage control around her frosty white lip gloss and her thick raccoon-like eyeshadow that threatened to melt off her face.

The girl nodded eagerly in agreement, panting her own discomfort. She was hot and sticky from the walk to the shop -- her shirt a little gross as it clung to her skin. Everything on her body was like that -- her jeans, her shoes, her necklace... even the laurel she had recieved from this very shop seemed to cling to her, albeit contently. Although it stuck a little uncomfortably against her hair, the laurel itself seemed quite happy with the weather, its leaves seeming to perk and almost bask in the humid, hot weather. If that made any sense. Robyn didn't question things anymore... the leafed headpiece seemed to be remarkably human for such an inanimate object.

Returning from her thoughts with a blink, she looked confused for a moment before breaking out into another thankful smile. "Ah, yes please." She replied eagerly, following the other woman to the doorway of the kitchen, leaning against it's frame.

"Why, who would want to shop in a sty such as that...?" Elegancia strutted by the shop that was situated in Durem. It was rare that she ventured into parts that weren't congested with people flocking to her. Without her avid fans following her, she began to feel that she was no longer the center of attention.

Elegancia than proceeded to waltz towards the shop, and burst into the conversation taking place by loudly proclaiming "I am awfully parched, and I would rather enjoy a glass of sparkling cranberry juice! Preferably right now!" She impatiently tapped her foot with her back arched and arms crossed.

They have got to be shocked that someone such as I would visit their... Humble, quaint shop! Ohohoho, I am too kind for gracing them with my presence! For once, Elegancia thought in her head. But her facial expression revealed exactly what she was pondering upon.

"Eh?" The sound of the bells ringing, not once, but twice surprised the college student, so much she almost slipped on the tile of the kitchen. The only thing that saved her was the counter nearby, and the hand she had flung out to catch herself, very ungracefully, with.

"Hello?"

Peering out towards the door, Robyn tilted her head at the two... then suddenly a third... who had just entered, glancing back at Rose. "You have guests," was her obvious chirp-of-a-statement, looking quite pleased with herself despite the discomfort of the heat.

Rose quietly moved around the kitchen, deciding it best to just bring out the jug of water, as she heard more guests arrive. She placed the iced jug on a tray, followed by a handful of glasses, and even a bottle of sparkling cranberry juice that she had heard one woman 'ask' for. "The bathroom is that way dear. There is a mirror in there." Rose pointed up the staircase, and to a room at the end of the hall on the right.

She picked up the tray and walked to the coffee table, placing it down in the middle. She looked up and smiled at the new faces. "I'm Rose, the owner of the shop. You're more than welcome to take refuge from the heat here." She motioned to the water and glasses.

Madison turned when she heard the door open twice more. She smiled in greeting at the next arrival, but it faltered upon the arrival of the second. She stared at the woman who had a rather imposing atmosphere around here.

Her attention was torn away when the owner introduced herself. "Ah, thank you very much," she said, almost bowing to Rose then blushing in embarrassment. She poured herself a glass of water and quickly took a sip to quench her suddenly parched throat. She glanced around again, taking a second sip. "You have a nice shop here."

Wow, three people at once. Of the three times she had been to the shop, she had never seen such a thing. It had always been such a quiet, quaint place -- very comforting. She liked that about it. Seeing three new people in it was interesting to her, and Robyn cocked her head to one side, her sea-green eyes flickering between the three curiously, so much so she almost forgot the heat and discomfort.

... almost.

Licking her parched lips, Robyn approached coffee table without much thought or reservation, taking a glass, pouring herself some of the water and thanking Rose appreciatively before taking a sip, the cool water feeling delicious on her tongue. Glancing up at the three again, with one last flicker of her eyes towards the shop owner, the girl seated herself on one of the seating arrangements, taking another sip of water before addressing the others with a grin.

"Hello~"

"Awesome...!" The yakuza princess rushed across the store on her tiptoes that were too used to heels and scrambled up the stairs sort of daintily.

"O mai goddo!" She was melting!

The yamamba girl scuttled up the small mirror, her small manicured nails tapping across the porcelain sink. A little pinkie brush across her eyes, straightening the dark charcoal shadows around her black eyes. She flounced her hair out of constant habit, pulling a dark root from her hairline and smiled.

It was still ******** hot though.

She hiked up her skirt just a little bit more and turned on the faucet, washing her hands and delighting in the biting cold of the water.

Madison took a seat in one of the other chairs, sighing in relief to get off her feet for a while. She had been walking around for much too long, and she thought her feet might swell up, either from the walking or the heat or both. Taking another sip of the water, she relaxed back against the seat for a moment.

"Ah, hello," she greeted the woman seated beside her. She held out a hand to her. "I'm Madison." She shifted a little awkwardly in her seat, not used to the shortness of her shorts. But with the heat, they were the only pants that she could wear without feeling like her legs were on fire.

Robyn blinked in surprise as the little Asian girl gave a not-quite-shriek of excitement and skittered up the stairs on the balls of her feet, momentarily taken by surprise. That... was interesting. Leaning forward, she watched the retreating form for a moment more, almost falling off the couch with her effort, before turning back to her new conversationalist. The girl looked to be quite relieved to be out of the heat and sitting down, something she couldn't say she blamed her for. Robyn herself had been wearing sneakers -- a very silly idea for such weather.

"Pleased to meet you," She extended her hand out as well, taking Madison's in a pleasant handshake, obliviously unaware of how the other shifted awkwardly in the seat, "My name's Robyn."
