.:As you walk through the unknown territory of lush vegitation and dark shadows, you stumble upon the scent of the lone, but soon to be alpha male wolf. You follow the scent, for you are only on his grounds due to your wish to join the pack he is rebuilding, weaving through the undergrowth swathed in darkness. He steps out before you, his massive form in a stance of pride, but welcoming and cautious all at once. He has an air of mystery to him and he not yet speaks to you, waiting for you to speak first although he knows what you have been seaking:.

~ALHPA~

.:[Pure's Biography]:.

Each pack has its leaders the Alpha pair. The Alpha pair submit to no one and uphold the peace and law within the pack by constantly keeping aware of the social status of each wolf. The Alpha also keep charge of the territory, ensuring no one intrudes. Alpha’s express their feelings through dominate postures such as raising their tail high like a dominate flag, ears always locked ahead, eyes keenly aware of the surroundings. Alpha’s also force other wolves into submission, keeping peace within the pack. Without the Alpha’s there wouldn’t be a pack. There would be no leadership and no one to uphold the rules and enforce them. The Alpha ensures the pack is safe at all times and upholds the law and order. Wolves submitt on occasion to the Alpha, showing resepct and affection to the Alpha, considering a wolf pack is a tightly nit group of family members (and in our case friends as well).

~BETA~

The beta is naturally known as the second rank or second in command should something happen to the alpha(s). If something where to occur or happen to the alpha(s) such as illness/death/weakness then the beta(s) would step in. The beta is a strong natural leader, the right paw of the alpha willing to serve where needed and do what he/she can for the pack, to ensure a better home and environment for all.

~ELDERS~

Male or Female elder is a wolf of age (min 5yrs old) and experience, and can give advice to the Alpha's and Or Beta's, there opinions are thought of highly, and seeing there experience as an old wolf. There experience helps to teach the Young and the old alike. Elder wolves are normally wolves who've had a past of Alpha, Beta or some other rank, or just another pack member from another pack that could have Fallen, and are looking for a place to rest, and call home, to finally rest there tired old soul. The elder is a wise and trust worthy wolf. The elders teach of there experiences of there life, there wise, and teach the pups, young and old alike. They have kind and gentle hearts.

They were involved in not only advising adults but also were the ones to educate the children/young. Elders teach the young the pack customs so they get used to the life ahead of them. In this manner the elders hope to teach wisdom and understanding to the children/young as well as important skills such as hunting. This is important for their clan and society when they get older to know of their customs. An elder is a knowledgeable and wise, patient and generous.

~HUNTERS~

Males and females. wolves who hunt and sometimes leads pack hunts when the food supply is low within the clearings catche. After a successful hunt, the meat is stored under the Wapeka tree for safe keeping, to ensure the other members of the pack get there share of food. The pack hunters are incharge of the catche and food supply to the catche, ensuring its abundent and filled

The Lead Hunter is usually encharge of preparing hunts and informing the Alpha(s) and/or Beta(s) of their choosen hunting grounds. The Lead hunter is encharge to lead by example and help those who are to either become hunters, or the members of the pack become better skilled hunters. The Lead hunter is always there to help and guide the young in the ways of hunting. The Lead hunter is encharge of scouting out territory of roaming game to ensure a plentyful supply can be acheived as well ensure the catche (Wapeka Tree) Is constantly stocked espcially during the cooler days.

~GUARDIANS~

Are the wolves within the pack that execute the same principals as the scout. But the Guardians are more inclined to be with the pack and protecting the pack boundaries, staying with the pack in time of need or suspicious activities. The Guardians of the pack usually scout out the territory but not far from the boundaries. Guardian wolves show a keen spirit to protect the pack and a strict attitude and seriousness that carries to the pack, to help keep its unity. The guardian is responsible for informing the Alpha(s) and/or Beta(s) should something new arise, a new scent, problem etc. The guardians are respected within the pack for their bravery and chivalry to guard the home in which they love and would defend with honor and pride.

~SCOUTS~

The Scout is a wolf who looks out for the pack and well being. He/She is responsable to keep strangers in check, ensure there are no wolves who intend to cause harm to the pack and well being of the pack. The scout is encharge to meet the new wolves if the Alpha(s) or Beta(s) are not present. Scouts are also much like sentinels. They ensure the pack is safe from other intruders. They as well go out and scout the territory ensuring there's not a change, perhapes ensure that no other outsider wolves have marked over boundaries etc. Scouts are fimilar with neighboring packs, and are to report any changes with that pack to the Alpha(s) or Beta(s) if any.

~CARETAKERS~

The head caretaker, also known as the "Shaman", were looked upon as being a medicine healer. Shamans usually, being males, where individuals who could call upon the spirits to help them proscribe healing herbs for sickness and injured members of the society.

The caretaker of a pack is the wolf who's pledge there heart and soul to care for the well being of other wolves and the pack. Should a wolf become injured in anyway, the caretaker ensures that the wolf is healed and taken care of properly. The caretaker also will look and tend to look after the pups should the pack go and hunt. Caretakers tend to keep the pack in a healthy state.

~PACK MEMBERS~

Males and females. Includes pups, the omega, and adult members. There can be different ranks for any subordinates. Caretaker, scout, hunter, etc. Subordinates submit to the higher ranking wolves such as the alpha and/or beta. Usually by submissive postures. They make up the rest of the pack and family. Though some may not be bound to rank, they are still highly important.

~ASSESSMENTS~

Assessments are those wolves who have gone the next step from pledge to assessment. These wolves are those who still desire to join the pack and have gone through their pledge period without flaw or hesitation. This time in which a wolf has reached is very important within the pack itself. This portion of your trial to become a member of The Lunar Guardians Wolfpack is you must prove you are ready to join, know the rules well and the pack well. This ensures that Lunar Guardians is truly where you desire to be and most of all where you desire to stay. Lunar Guardians takes on the seriousness of family. The Assessment period lasts as long as needed to ensure that The Lunar Guardians is your home and that it shall be your ever lasting family.

Pledges are those wolves who desire to join The Lunar Guardians. The pledge period lasts usually about 3 weeks depending mostly on your activity within the clearing itself. Showing dedication and being there furthers your chance of promotion as well getting to know your fellow packmates and gain new trust with them as well friendship.

~PUPS~

Pack pups are usually (but not limited too) the pups and yearlings within the pack. Wolves who are first born until they reach the age of 1 year. Pack pups are important to the pack because they help relieve the stressful enviornment that can sometimes take place within a pack. Pups also bring a lightfull ness and joy as well within the adult wolves of the pack as well bring new hope and light to the pack itself with new beginnings and a growing future to teach and learn the ways of the pack.

The gray wolf has very unique characteristics as well the same characteristics as your common house hold domesticated dog. Wolves vary in size and weight. Depending on the gender male or female, the wolf can be up to 32 inches tall and 6.1 feet from nose to tail. Adult males can weigh from 110-160 pounds while females can weigh up to 80-115 pounds. Wolves have a specific set of canines developed over time to fit there environment. A wolf has a total of forty two teeth; twelve incisors, four canines, sixteen pre molars, and ten carnassials and molars. A wolfs jaw has the crushing power of 1,500 (lbs/square inch), compared to 740 (lbs/square inch) for a German Shepherd, Giving the wolf more power to shred into the tough hide of their prey, sawing through bone and fat.

Wolves have a keen sense of hearing. Wolves rely on the sense of smell, hearing and taste to survive. Wolves can hear up to six miles in the forest and about ten miles in the open. Wolves also have a keen sense of sight. A wolf’s eye color varies between yellow-amber and deep orange. Sometimes in rare cases a wolf will have blue eyes, but normally they change to an orange or yellow amber as they mature. Wolves rely on sight just as equally as there hearing. A wolf can sense the slightest movements within trees or underbrush, allowing a huge hunting advantage. Being primary predators, a wolfs eyes are located on the front of their heads and have little less then 180 degree vision unlike their prey which often have 300 degree vision.

When wolves are born, they have blue eyes. When they reach about 12 weeks old, there eye colors change as they mature. These colors vary between: Blue, Yellow, Orange, deep amber and sometimes green.

Wolves have a keen sense of sight, to depict certain movements. Wolves have a 180 degree focus of sight, where their prey can have up to 300 degree sight.

Next to scent, is hearing. An acute sight is very important to a wolf's daily life. Wolves have long, fluffy ears that can pick up sounds from six miles away in the forest and ten miles in the open. A wolf can hear a frequency up to 25khz.

Wolves ,much like all animals, have different taste receptors. A wolf has the common salty, bitter, sweet and acidic taste buds. The sweetness receptivity would be adaptive use to wolves, as sweet berries and other fruits do play a minor role in their daily diet.

The wolf’s sense of smell is about 100 times better than a human’s. It uses its sense of smell more than anything else to find prey, with the ability to smell prey before it can see it, more than a mile away if the wind is right. A wolf’s nose can smell things that your nose can’t. Like your nose, the inside of a wolf’s nose contains moist surfaces that “catch” smells in the air, however the area receptive to smell in a wolf nose is 14 times greater than that of a human. The wolf’s nose has about five times more surface area than yours does, so it can catch more smells from the air than you can. It can even sense the presence of an animal three days after it’s gone! The nose itself is not five times larger than a human nose. For all the extra smelling surface to fit inside, it must be wrapped and folded many times. An experiment was performed at one time with covered trays of food to test the relative senses of smell between wolves and dogs. What required only five minutes for the wolves to determine which tray contained food took domestic dogs over an hour to discover.

Appearance: moondust has silver fur covering her whole body excpet from her maw to under her tail which is white,she also has a trail of black spots going from the side of her eyes all the way do to her tail and tints of black fur every now and then on her pelt.

Ragnorokia

The name for the end of the world...

The femme lifted her nares, scents wafting from far across the pack land. There were a few wolves here, other Pledges like herself, but not many. The only actual member within the pack at with point was the Alpha male, Pure. Her lips twisted into a frown as she padded on through the land.
Ragnorokia wasn't the sort of wolf to get lonely. No, as a matter of fact, she was a very solitary creature. Like her ancestors, she was only supposed to be with two main wolves throughout her life: her mother as she was being raised, and her mate. Her soon-to-be mate had been killed, and her mother long gone. It really was a wonder why she was even here, going against her nature to be with more wolves. Perhaps she just wanted to prove that ancestral voice in the back of her head wrong.
The red femme let out a long breathe, her orbs scanning the terra around her. Perhaps is would do her good to be with someone. To exchange just a few words, at least.

.:[The slight breeze caressed the beautiful color changing leaves of the tall trees in the forest of the lunar guardians, giving off a calming russtle sound of life. Along with the whisperss of the wind, birdsong filled the air to make a lovely harmony to match the beautiful fall scenery around the wolves]:.

Pure padded up from the deapths of the forest to the edge of the clearing, breathing in deeply the crisp air of the early fall day. He exhaled deeply and looked around proudly at the territory that was now his. He felt deep within sorrow, but shoved it away. The past was done with and could only be learned from. Its time for a new start and thats what he was going to make sure to bring with this new pack.

Atreyu was laying in the clearing, with the warming sun on her silver fur and the chilling breeze nicely counteracting it as she dozed slightly. She kept one of her blue grey eyes open as she scanned the area. She could see her alpha and another member of the new pack off in the distance, but could not scent them, for her bushy tail was rapped over her black nose while curled up. She now removed her tail and the now somewhat familar scents came flooding in. She liftted her head up and chuffed out a friendly greeting.

[Doom_Puffs]

Artemis sat below the ferns growing deeper into the forest. The wind pulling on her snow white coat. She was down wind of the others, not purposefully sneaking up, only approaching with caution. Her pads hit the forest floor with only the quiet crackle of dead leaves as she crushed them in passing by.This territory smelled safe, the wind was clean, no longer spreading the airborn decease.

She put her muzzle to the ground, scenting another of the alpha males markers. She wasn't far now. Artemis could see the sunlight filtering out through the trees leaves up ahead, it must have been a clearing of some sort.

Slowing her pace she padded out from the underbrush and into the welcoming warmth of the sun.

Rom stopped to drink from the river. He had been traveling in this packs territory for about half a day. The sent of the alpha male was getting stronger with each step he took. It wouldn't be long until he came upon them. He looked up the river, watching the bright sunlight glint off the water. It was a beautiful place. Warmer then the snow covered forests of his home. Rom shook his head and moved his way up river.

This isn't the end of the world... Not anymore.

The rusty fem tilted her head, nares still lifted to the sky. According to their scents, everyone was going in roughly the same direction: toward their Alpha. Or, rather, soon to be Alpha. She really didn't know how that worked, the whole rank before acceptance thing. for she'd never been in a pack before. Only ever with Arongain...
She huffed and shook her coat, as if trying to get rid of the thought. No, she wouldn't think of the sad past now. She'd done her share of mourning, had she not? It certainly was a pity, though. Such a young and handsome brute, lost to a mere stag because of her ignorance. Well, there really was nothing to do about it now but live on. Arongain surely wouldn't want her to be laying in a sorrowful ball all day. 'How pathetic' he'd say, his tone arrogant yet his eyes concerned...
No! Dammit, she told herself, you need to stop doing that. Stop thinking about him. He's long gone and you're here, starting a new life in a new pack.
Reassured, strangely, by her own words, she padded on. Ragnorokia's eyes darted to each sound and each new thing to pop into her vision. This land ruled by Pure was large indeed. Remarkable, really. Though she wondered how he'd ever come to have such a place to himself, she wasn't going to ask. There was a sense of something unwhole here. The death of a time, perhaps, and the rebirth of another.
