History/Background
Not much is known about the young girl except that she is
ill suited to surviving on her own and she's running from
something -- or someone. She goes by the name of Ara and
for the past few months has been moving from transport ship
to transport ship trying to stay ahead of Imperial forces. Why
would the Empire be after a girl of seemingly little importance?
She has a secret, one they want terribly and one she is
willing to die to keep.

Character Name: Zeia Elizabeth Fariarch
Age: 19
History/Background:
Zeia's family fell apart almost as soon as the oppression began.
Formerly part of a family of four, her father took a position against
the new rule, while her mother found the Emperor's ways to be
enlightening. After many years of arguing, her mother took her brother
and left for Ironguard. Zeia stuck by her dad, too frightened of the
oppression and what it was doing to the people to agree with her
mother's ideals. Soon enough, though, Zeia's home was raided and
her father was taken. She managed to find a hiding spot and was
passed over by the guards. She was sixteen.

After that she found the rebellion and tried to join it, but no one took
this scrawny little tomboy seriously, and sent her off to one of the
many villages others had created to find safety from the raidings. So
she waited a year to grow a little taller and build up her strength, cut
off her long, brown hair and changed into baggier attire, then joined up
as Zachary. She's been on ships ever since, training and fighting as
needed, and somehow managing to keep her secret safe.

Character Name: Aloysius Rosenthal
Age: 24
History/Background:
His family lived in a small village just a few miles to the west of
Eden - a village that's now no more than a stub in the ground, dead.
It was one of those ravaged by battle against the emperor. His
family, like many others, was not left untouched. His mother, father,
grandmother and youngest brother were all killed. Only his younger
sister remained alive. They survived for a few weeks together, braving
the winter that had quickly set in after the attack in fall. Alo was a man
by that time, and promised he could and would take care of her. They
were on the road to anywhere but their family's gravesite. One night
she went out to gather wood for a fire and simply disappeared. He
searched as long as he could manage, and hasn't seen her since.
Out of rage and instinct to protect his values and the memory of his
family, Aloysius joined the rebellion, and he enjoys this work thoroughly.

Character Name: James Wyndrider
Age: 45
History/Background:
James was never one for magic, or pagan followings to deities,
instead choosing a life of defense and swordsmanship. He was
a steadfast soldier, a knight with a innate talent for battle. a cool
head and a calculating mind. but that was before the Emperor
and the new faith, the One God. Salvation through faith, devotion..
and then there were promises of greater power for greater service.

James was drawn to the faith of the One. while magical deities
were more about nature, this new God was more about self. personal
potential, self reliance on inner power. Power manifested in some as
healing, in others as flames that burned bright. James became an
Inquisitor, who's job was to hunt down the pagans and their false idols
and convert them, or destroy them. and he did his job exceedingly well.
The same efficient, calculating mind that served so well when learning
battle tactics and swordsmanship was able to twist words, bend wills
and expose hidden followers to the old pagan gods. he converted many,
and those that he was force to execute were few. The Emperor took
interest in his ability to bend wills, and he rose through the ranks to a
Grand Inquisitor, serving in the palace itself.

The Emperor's daughter, however, still displayed sympathy to the
newly christened 'rifters' and managed to swipe sensitive information
and flee, most likely seeking them out. James was called before his
Emperor, and told his divine duty was to return the wayward daughter,
and bring back what was stolen. by any means

Character Name: Frederic Fitzgerald
Age: 21
History/Background:
The oldest child of the Emperor, from the moment he was
born Frederic was destined to take hold of the throne. He
was given the best tutors, was trained by the strongest
swordsmen, all too shape him up into one worthy of the
title of Emperor. The few friends he actually managed to make
were pushed away by his father, and the time spent with
the rest of his family was little. In the end, at the cost of a
social life, Frederic became an embodiment of the Empire's
beliefs. He boasts an incredibly strong dislike for magic, and
believes that a strong structure (like the Empire) is the only way
to keep the world from collapsing into chaos. At his father's side,
he carries out these ideals without hesitation, using his skill with
a blade to make sure none go against the will of the Emperor.
And while he's cold, and at times incredibly arrogant, the man does
have a soft spot for the soldiers underneath his command. Having
spent much of his childhood training alongside them, he views them
as more of a family than his true one and is willing to treat even the
lowliest grunt with a measure of respect.

The news of his sister's disappearance, mixed in with the rumors
claiming that she's wanting to join up with the rebels, have put him
on edge. Worried less for her own safety, and more so for the chaos
this could create, the man has set out to bring her back. Bringing alongside
him a small platoon of soldiers, along with a relatively modest airship,
Frederic is eager to reach her as quickly as possible.

Character Name: Tessa-lee Moss
Age: Nineteen
History/Background:
Mother died when she was born due to pregnancy
troubles. Tessa-Lee was lucky she survived the pregnancy.
Her father left her when she was only thirteen. He was a total
b-word when Tessa's mother died, getting drunk and abusing
Tessa. He is gone now, to say the least. She is glad.Tessa
is decisive and quiet but can be a big party animal when
she wants to.

Character Name: Noah Fynn Grayson
Age: Twenty - three
History/Background:
Noah Fynn Grayson, more commonly known to his many
peers as just Gray, has quite the mysterious background,
though that has never stopped him from befriending almost
everyone he meets. The people that know him today know
him to be a fantastic pilot ( he made his own two - seater flyer ),
and an even better captain of the S.S. Julianna, his own
transport ship from his job as co - owner of the Rose Transport
Services Co. He arrived there with his partner, five years his
elder, Olliver James Rose, and the two hit it big, being reputed
as safe, fast, user - friendly service, the best Ossero has seen yet.
Noah works mostly with the Eden branch of the business, preferring
to stay out of Ironguard for numerous reasons, none of which he
has ever told anyone. He is described to be a very amiable man,
fair, albeit, a little rough around the edges and slightly unorthodox
with punishment. His crew trust him and serve him with little
questions asked. Although he can be intimidating, he cares for the
men on his ship, and would rather die before seeing any of them go.
Secretly, he and Olliver assist in rebel movements, often transporting
large amounts of supplies to safe - villages in the wilds.

That is the Noah that most know.

Most do not know that he once was quite close with the
royal family, although they knew nothing of him. Also, he
was once known as Caleb Lance Gray His father was a
great scientist, and his mother, superb with medicines and,
secretly, magicks. They thought that the closer they were
to the king, the less likely that they would be found out,
especially if they were aiding in his and his family`s health.
But, Caleb`s mother and father were wrong. Upon learning
of Caleb`s mother`s magic background, he slay her, right
before Caleb and his father`s very eyes. In a fiery anger,
Caleb`s father cried out that he run, before leaping upon the
king, only to be pulled off by the guards. The last thing Caleb
remembered was his father`s screams of pain, as they were
probably torturing him. He never turned back, and he changed
his name from Caleb to Noah Fynn Grayson, cut his once
blond hair and dyed it black. He worked his body to build his
figure, too. He immersed himself in meeting new people, in
gaining connections, because he figured one day, all those
connections might come in handy. That and he would have to
make a name of himself. One day, while working as a
bar - back, he met Olliver, and the rest is history.

One thing, though. He vows he will get his revenge
against the king. Oh, and did I mention he
inherited a nice little elemental gift of fire from his mother?

Character Name: Nadya "Mary Lee or Gypsy" o Mortinov
Age: Approximately 25 give or take. Her family doesn't
exactly celebrate such birthdays, and she wasn't registered
when she was born. She has no idea when her birthday is.
History/Background:
Gypsy was raised in the plains in a band of gypsies and
magic users. The group had fled when the church started
to hunt them down. Now their camp is used as a hideout
and station for those who are being hunted. Rifters included.

She now lives in the capital with her brother Peter Lee and
they run joint shops. Her's a florists called "Fleura Lee" and
his a mechanic shop just called "Peter Lee's Mechanics".
On the outside, they are profitable, legit, and most of
all, normal looking. However, they along with a tight network
of other associates, run an underground operation, purposed
to serve as a smuggling unit. They house rebels, rifters, and
magic users trying to escape the city, as well as goods to the plains.

Gypsy earned her name from her looks. She is a kind and
gentle woman, with a stern serious side when needed. She also
has a sadistic sense of humor and can appreciate a good
practical joke or two.

Character Name: Vincent Patrick Dile
Age: 26
History/Background:
Vincent Dile isn't Vincent Dile's name. The thing is, Vincent Dile
doesn't know his real name. When he was a child, he was left on
the doorstep of an orphanage, and hopped from foster home to foster
home as he grew older. They gave him all kinds of names, but most
were too obscene to repeat. One day, he ran away. He roamed the
streets until he got struck by the flu, and wound up collapsed on a
rather wealthy man's doorstep. He took the child in and took care of
him, and when he woke up, he very politely asked his name. Now the
kid was always fond of the name Vincent. He felt it was classy and
upstanding. But he got the rest of his name from this man who took
care of him with a kindness Vincent didn't know existed.

His name was Patrick Dile.

It's safe to say that Patrick adopted Vincent, and allowed him to
choose his own middle name. He grew up with a fascination with
machinery, often found taking apart pocket watches and clocks to
see how they worked. Eventually, he chose to follow a career in
weaponry, and eventually learned to handle and maintain guns. When
he was eighteen he earned an apprenticeship with a weapons master,
and was given the shop when the man retired. He kept it as it was, of
course, until the Emperor came into power. When people were choosing
sides, he stayed neutral, until he saw his old mentor be taken.

Then he chose.

He pushed all his weapons into the back room, and changed the front
half of the shop and lined it with clocks of all kinds, filling a display case
with watches. Most people didn't go into Vincent's shop for watch
maintenance, which was probably for the best. No, most people who went
in there knew exactly what Vincent was really selling, and they wanted
some of his products. He knew only time would come until the Imperialists
realized what he was really doing, but hey. Why not work to keep the
rebellion fully stocked while he waited?

Character Name: Nicolette 'Kiki' Labelle
Age: 22
History/Background:
Like many in the Empire, Kiki suffered the loss of her
parents though unlike most it was not due to war or
execution by the crown. Her father was the pilot of small
cargo vessel and her mother the navigator -- it was how
they had met in their youth. The accident had been an
unfortunate one, an engine blow out that sent the ship
crashing to the earth. There were no survivors and two
year old Kiki went to live with her grandmother. Though
the old woman appeared to be thin and frail, nothing could
have been further from the truth. Kiki soon learned that her
grandmother was a skilled water weaver and Kiki discovered
that the same magic flowed through her veins as well. Not
long after she began to learn control over such abilities the
war began. It was not like one might think, with bloody
battles and fallen soldiers though there was blood and many
did die. It came like a thief in the night, plucking unsuspecting
victims from their beds and slaughtering them in the streets.
Her grandmother made her hid the both of them in the root
cellar and they remained there for three days after the last
scream had split the air.

Out of an entire village of over two hundred souls only seven
survived that night -- including her and her grandmother. The
sight of the bodies left in the street were ones that would haunt
the young woman for as long as she lived. She and her
grandmother packed as much of their belongings as they could
carry (and that hadn't been utterly destroyed by the soldiers) and
they moved to the capital. What better place to hide, said her
grandmother, than in plain sight? Roughly a year ago her
grandmother joined an underground railroad of sorts used to help
bus supplies and refuges through the capital city. Their home,
which contains several hidden rooms beneath it, connected to
others by a series of abandoned sewer tunnels, are used to store
weapons, food and at times people destined for rebel
encampments located all over Ossero.

Character Name: Selena Camilla
Age: Appears to be mid-twenties.
History/Background: Having been born into a wealthy
family, Selena seeked adventure and purpose. Using a hidden
dagger for defense, she stayed to herself. As far as the war,
she remained neutral, claiming it wasn't her fight. Roaming from
village to village she never stayed too long as to not hover
or be discovered.

Character Name: Petre "Peter Lee" o Martinov
Age: Early twenties. Approximately twenty to twenty three-ish.
History/Background: Peter is Gypsy's younger brother, so
he too was raised in the gypsy band. He was always fixing things.
Not like watches, but airships and the new-fangled vehicles. It's
what he liked most. So it just seemed right that he should follow his
sister to the capital.

His demeanor is stern and quietly stubborn, which makes him a
bit intimidating. He is fairly tall as well, which doesn't help anything.
In reality, he is as kind and gentle as his sister, and very protective
over those close to him. Especially his big sister. He's an all around
handy man too. If he is not in his shop fixing things, he's somewhere
fixing a door or doing favors for various people around the capital.

Character Name: Zephyria Erion
Age: 23
History/Background
For as long as she can remember Zeph has called the airship
Aeolian home. Her mother died of an illness when Zeph was
just a child and her father, unable to remain in the place where
so many memories lingered, sold their small farm and used the
money to purchase an airship. It was beat up and run down but
over the years they found ways to patch it up. It wasn't perfect
and for all its outward appearance looked as though it'd fall apart
at any moment. Eventually her father took up a crew, people with
no where else to go or just needing to get away from it all and
unexpectedly they became something resembling a family. It wasn't
flawless but like their ship there was more to them that met the eye.

From a young age Zeph was taught how to read maps and charts,
how to map out a course using only the stars over head and how to
take advantage of the wind. The crew did odd jobs transporting cargo
and passengers, enough to get by plus a little extra and they answered
to no one. It was the ideal way of life for a group of drifters who held no
loyalty but to one another. Then the war came crashing down and the
Emperor demanded that all capable ships report to the crown. They were
to be given orders per their location and capabilities and their ships now
belonged to the empire. Refusing to be drawn into a conflict he wanted
no part of, and the fact that Zeph herself was a capable wind weaver, her
father and captain of the Aeolian gave his crew the chance to turn in their
resignations and leave -- before the Aeolian became an outlaw and
enemy of the crown.

Not a single soul even glanced at the door.

The Aeolian still flies only for its own benefit but it does enjoy poking
a jab at the empire every now and then. They hold allegiance to no
one -- not the empire, not the rifters, not those caught up in between.
The only ones they answer to are each other and they do only what they
need to do in order to survive.

Zeph herself is an upbeat, charismatic soul who always seems to have a
smile on her face. She is a skilled fighter though she does much better
with long reaching weapons like staffs and ranged weapons such as throwing
knives or the bow, perhaps due to a little help from her magic. She's a quite
capable wind weaver though she has by no means reached her peak potential.
Lack of a master to teach her has been a severe hamper on her growth but
she manages. She's also quite innovative and will come up with solutions for
problems until they're solved.

Character Name: Corwyn Thaxton
Age: 25
History/Background:
Corwyn's childhood is bland. So we're just going to fast forward
to the good parts. When he twelve he left home, when he was
fourteen he was picked up by stranger and taught to fight. He
went from blades to guns, learning how to clean and maintain
them. At eighteen he left the tutelage of this man, and became
something of a mercenary. He had no allegiance to anyone, just
working to get paid, and using that money to put food on his plate.

At nineteen, he met another stranger, introducing himself as Allister,
looking for a crew for his airship. He was reluctant at first, as he didn't
know much about ships. The man simply smiled and said if Corwyn
wanted, he could show him the ropes. It took a bit of convincing, but
Corwyn eventually agreed and climbed on board the Aeolian. He met
the rest of the crew and started out down below, working on the
mechanics of the ship. It was a little scrappy, but it worked. He
carefully learned how to fix things without blowing it up, learning from
those who were already there and knowledgeable. He was grouchy,
but personable - he wanted to learn.

Eventually, around twenty-one, he spoke up about an interest
in piloting. So when he wasn't working on the engine or patching up
scrapes on the body, he was found in the cockpit, listening to lectures
from the pilot.And when the pilot didn't want him there, he was hanging
out with Zeph. Zeph, who made a point to befriend him even when he
was so angry and cynical and broken. Zeph, admittedly, mellowed him
out a touch, and showed him that while he didn't have to be nice all the
time, he could at least be grateful. And show that gratitude to the
people he owed it to.

When they were landed for whatever reason - restocking, refueling,
getting jobs or getting paid - Corwyn was allowed to sit in the pilot's
chair and practice the controls. Soon enough, he was allowed to co-pilot,
and get a feel for actually flying the thing without putting the rest of
the crew in danger.

Eventually, the older pilot retired. not because he was afraid of becoming
an outlaw, but because he was simply getting too old for this racket.
And so Corwyn took over, and he's been in the pilot's seat ever since.

Character Name: Azenzixx "Az-rael or Azen" Kallice
Age: 22
History/Background:
Azenzixx could be called a victim of circumstance. When
the Empire took his mother and father, circumstances
decreed that he run as fast and as far as he could. Where did
he run? Right on to the deck of an Empire transport ship.

Just his luck.

The men on the ship didn't find him, though. They never
knew Azen was there, clever as he was.

The pirates, however, did.

A band of rebels led by an unnamed Captain took the transport
ship out of the sky. When they came to check the rubble for
anything useful, they found him instead. The Captain took the
boy under his wing, and raised him, teaching him how to fly and
maintain an airship, what to look for in a crew, and how to use many
of the weapons the rebels used. Azenzixx spent twelve years aboard
the ship, twelve years learning to hat the Emperor and any who live
under his rule. Twelve years he spent training, just waiting for the day
when the rebels could finally destroy the empire.

He has long since left the ship, and for five years has been a notorious
pirate himself. However not too long ago his ship, the Chimera, was
gunned down by an Imperial warship Aznezixx now wanders the Wilds,
searching for somewhere, anywhere to stay, at least until he can buy
another ship.

But who would harbor a man hailed as "Az-rael, the Dark Angel?"
