Given the chance, what young girl wouldn't happily exchange a plain face for a lovely one? What girl could refuse the opportunity to be beautiful? For want of a better estimate, let's call it the year 2000. At any rate, imagine a time in the future when science has developed a means of giving everyone the face and body he dreams of. It may not happen tomorrow—but it happens now... in the Twilight Zone.
This classic TZ episode is inspiration for this RP. I know that the Uglies book series is loosely based off this episode, but I wanted to follow the TZ episode for storyline. It's easily found online if you want to watch it.
The short version is that in the future, when people turn 19, they are supposed to go through The Transformation, an operation that will make them beautiful and immune to disease, via changing their appearance to one of several patterns. Before The Transformation, a person could expect to live 70 or 80 or perhaps 90 years, but with The Transformation, a person can live two or three times that long. The Transformation must be performed when the body and the tissue are at the proper state, which is at nineteen years old. To differentiate people after The Transformation, all their clothes bare their names on the front.
Despite that, The Transformation holds a dark secret. Those who are Transformed become shallow, vapid, carefree, and stupid. What if that secret was discovered?
A small group of people, mostly teens who decided they don't want The Transformation, have gathered. The group has no name or permanent residence; they're always on the move. They've run away from their families and lives in the pursuit of staying 'Normal'. This is their story.

~ You can either be Normal or Transformed.
~ If you decide to be Transformed, your appearance will be counted as a 'Pattern'. From there, if someone else wants to play a Transformed, they will just say "Pattern _" for their appearance. First come, first serve, and there will be only 12 slots for each gender.
~ If you wish for your character to be a Transformed, but wants to be reverted, or any other special circumstance, talk to me about it via PM, please.

Bio: 17 year old Fran was looking forward to The Transformation when she found some books in her grandfather's study. She learned, through reading them, about the secret behind The Transformation, and also changed her mindset about wanting it. When she told her parents she didn't want to have it, they brushed off her feelings as 'jitters' and told her she'd change her mind once she came of age. However, that response just made her not want it even more. She eventually ran away, determined to avoid her fate. She also secretly tried to spread her information to other Normal teenagers to try and sway them away from getting The Transformation. She's been in hiding ever since.
Fran is a smart, well-rounded girl who really doesn't have a bad bone in her body. She can be shy at first, but her will is strong, and she'll always stand up for someone who needs it. Her left eye bears a monocle due to an accident from when she was a child. She dresses in rather proper clothes, with collars and ties. She also has an affinity for cooking, though she can be a klutz, even in the kitchen, when flustered. When she's running from the Transformed, though, she's as fast as can be.
Possessions: Fran's only real possession is the book she took from her Grandfather's study, the proof about The Transformation's secret. She'll only show it to someone if she thinks they're serious about going against The Transformation and not a spy.
