Who is Lu Bu ?

What it means to be LuBu'd


" Lu Bu fought valiantly, and cut down two generals and wounded many of them. He was irresistible. The fighting then ceased, and after their return to camp another council met. Cao Cao said, "No one can stand against the prowess of Lu Bu. Let us call up all the lords and evolve some good plan. If only Lu Bu were taken, Dong Zhuo could easily be killed."

While the council was in progress again came Lu Bu to challenge them, and again the commanders moved out against him. This time Gongsun Zan, flourishing his spear, went to meet the enemy. After a very few bouts Gongsun Zan turned and fled; Lu Bu following at the topmost speed of Red-Hare. Red-Hare was a five-hundred-mile-a-day horse, swift as the wind. The lords watched Red-Hare gained rapidly upon the flying horseman, and Lu Bu's halberd was poised ready to strike Gongsun Zan just behind the heart. Just then dashed in a third rider with round glaring eyes and a bristling mustache, and armed with a ten-foot octane-serpent halberd.
"Stay, O twice b*****d!" roared he, "I, Zhang Fei of Yan, await you."

Seeing this opponent, Lu Bu left the pursuit of Gongsun Zan and engaged the new adversary. Zhang Fei was elated, and he rode forth with all his energies. They two were worthily matched, and they exchanged half a hundred bouts with no advantage to either side. Then Guan Yu, impatient, rode out with his huge and weighty green-dragon saber and attacked Lu Bu on the other flank. The three steeds formed a triangle and their riders battered away at each other for thirty bouts, yet still Lu Bu stood firm...

LuBu Dojo is about being the best and beating the best. It is a place where the inexperienced learn how to be real fighters, and the real fighters learn what it means to have the warrior's spirit. Like the forge of a sword smith, it serves as a crucible for refining the mind, body, and spirit.

Internal Vs. External?
Internal Martial Arts focus on ideas like philosophy, meditation, and deeper understanding of the anatomy and physics involved, as well as the development of Qi. Internal Styles are usually associated with Wudang/Wu Tang styles like Shequan (Snake Style), Baguazhang, Xingyiquan, Qigong, Tai Chi Chuan, as well as non Chinese arts like Aikido, Ip Sun, and Kito Ryu jujutsu.
External martial arts include Shaolin Styles derived from Buddhism and foreign hard styles like Tae kwon do and Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Savate, Special Forces Hand to Hand, Escrima, Mixed Martial Arts, and Capoeira.

  • Dojo Description:The dojo itself is A multi-story colossal Asian temple with enormous, unlocked doors, furnished in a mix of ancient and modern technology. The floor boards of the central chamber can be removed to reveal the fittings for a variety of arenas including kickboxing, judo, tight rope matches over a pit, a balance bar or rings over a pool of acid or water filled with great white sharks, Australian crocodiles, electric eels, blood sucking leeches; or a second door can open up leading to a much deeper pit that leads to a magma chamber below.
    The building houses several rooms and those of the second floor are typically reserved for special guests and instructors. In the back of the Temple Dojo rests a vast training pool twice the length and depth of an Olympic variant.

Application Rules

• Pre-made profiles, such as the kind people keep in journals are accepted.
  
• All races are allowed, but dont be stupid with the whole half angel and half demon if your character already isnt of this common and cliche' race type.
  
• All special abilities need to come with a price and be limited in there capabilities, they need to have explicit weakness's and explicit mechanics (or how do they work).
  
• The number of known MA styles shoudnt be too much, especially if your character is very young.
  
• Weapons can have metaphysical advantages however, they also need to come with a price if they do.
  
• Keep the scientific weapons to a minimum.
  

Location

_____ The gym is located in downtown Durem on 108 breakers street, across the street from the starbucks between the the gym owned apartment complex and parking complex. The gym can be reached easily by going to this location using the underground subway transit system because the gym is located in the inter-city area. The traffic is somewhat hectic moving into this area but it can be reached with relative ease during certain times of the day. This allows lots of public transit systems such as the bus or the intercity teleportation systems. The area we live in is a midtown metropolitian area while crime is big within the city, in this area it is relatively low in the upscale area.


_____The neighborhood is not a suburban one but most of the residents live in loft or apartment complex's. There are many business's in the city area, and the gaian university not too far away. Several gaian military and police agencies handle both the metaphysically and mundance crime within the city. Traffic fluctuates depending on time. There are many establishments surrounding the area to retrieve things such as groceries. The area is constantly being renovated, with new buildings and such. There are many upscale resturaunts in the area.


_____The area gets most of its electricity from underground and overground sources. The water system is ofcourse underground. We are in an area where the sattelite, radio and other such communications are strong. The cement in the area is stronger than the earthrealm city cement, ofcourse this being gaia most things that look modern enough are enchanted to be able to withstand much stronger things. While the city would appear to be just any other city things that are strange to earth realm cities such as people flying casually are very common but regulated by many of the individual guild and military factions of gaia.

Layout

External

Outside the gym is simply the sidewalk which leads you into the two small steps that lead you into the platfrom before the Double glass doors. On the side of these platforms is a small garden that greatly contrast with the modern setting. Above the doors are the gyms name in red cursive letters.

The gym seems very tall and as wide as a typical business building and appears to be able to easily house a gym. It has multiple floors with its outside built with a combination of marble stone treated with thin layers of carbon nanotubes and bullet proof fiberglass. Through the marble walls of the gym are its water systems which are kept in check by the gyms main operation computers, which regulate water pressure within the pipes.

The Gym

arrow The Foyer

The double bullet fiberglass window will automatically open by sensors in the floor pad. The dojo doors are always open. The lobby opens up to a foyer where there is a mat in which to dry ones feet if it is raining outside. Within the foyer are state of the art sensory tools that are composed of an artificial computer brain that uses a combination of psychokinetic & telepathy sensory perception to examine all things within the foyer that will alert a security guard all weapons that may pose a threat to the dojo's structure. Dont worry this will not go off on any member of the place but make sure if your visiting you dont appear threatening to the structure fo the dojo. Other than that, another glass door lets you into the lobby.

arrow The Lobby

The first thing when you open up into the lobby is white marble floors and a large marble desk were a security guard is supposed to be positioned at all times. He will pay you no mind if you are no threat to the dojo. However if you ask him a question he will certainly assist you in any way possible. To your left side of the large rectangular shaped room iounge area with scattered white sofa's and loveseats on a designer tapestry. In the corner of this room area is a flat screen telivision and a small glass counter in front of it with a remote and TV guide. To the right side of the room are the two elevators positioned on the side walls away from the entrance and to the right of that are the shelved stairs that raise up into the multiple floors of the dojo in the form of a winding staircase, that let you off on to each floor.

The elevators of the gym are controlled by a psychokinetic lifting generator and a back up standard cable lifting system that will automatically switch at the inactive state of the psychokinetic generator. The stairs are composed of wood.

arrow (Second Floor) The Stand Up Gym

The stand up gym appears to be the ideal MMA gym. At the center is the 4 cornered boxing ring of Standard ring size to the north of the boxing ring are the rows of variating bag equipment. With all kinds of boxing bags, including speed bags, muay thai bags, heavy bags, uppercut bags, etc. There is room for the bags to swing. The east side of the ring are the blue wrestling pads with standard white circles, the padding is very protective to make sure that no one gets hurt if they are slammed. To the south east corner is the MMA cage of UFC regulation size and padding. It is a carbon copy of the cage seen in the MMA tournament. On the souther side are the elevators that lead into the area, various bench's to sit on, and treadmills. To the southern west side are the entrance into the full size public restrooms, locker and shower areas.

arrow (Third Floor) The Weight Room

This is the weight room, which holds all kinds of state of the art weight lifting equipment you could think of. This holds everything from bench press's to leg press's, to dumbell wracks, to squat press's, to medicine balls, all types of weight machines. Im too lazy to go through and describe everything. Like the last room there is a public restroom, shower room, and locker room.

arrow (4th Floor) Gymnasium

Standard YMCA size gym that has the multicolored lines set out for any game of basketball and other such things. There are basketball hoops stored in the cealing and can be let down at any time. Around the wooden floored court is a full size nike track. There is a full size In the south east corner there is a room that holds all of the sports equipment, everything from gynastic equipment to volleyball equipment.

arrow Roof

The roof is an open air facility that was made to support both metaphysical combat and weapons combat. The Tatami mats are positioned in a square shaped field 25 feet across on all sides. This is higher than most of the buildings in the area so stray blast of metaphysical energies dont run the risk of hurting anyone and they allow for aerial training.

The Parking Complex

This parking complex is a rectangular shaped building with 4 garage shaped doors. With the proper authorization these garages can be opened to reveal a platform on which your car gan be parked on to. The platform is connected to a lever that holds other platforms around a center point. Every time you park, you are given an access code that code is what is needed in order for the machine to cycle around to your vehicle. These rotating platforms save space and make the building low to the earth.


The Apartment Complex


These externally the apartment complex seems to be made of an artsy mix of glass, concrete, and steel to give it a very modern appearance. Going inside you get into the lobby area in which there is a security guard who can help appoint and direct you to your room. Moving to the right and left are elevators that can take you up the floors. Each room inside the complex is lightly furnished with a bed, closet, Telivision, dresser, counter with light fixture, ceeling fan, and a bathroom. Once these apartment complex's are purchased they can be changed accordingly. The apartment complex does have a cleaning service for a set fee.

The Defenses

• Each building is built with artificial adamantium support beams and a carbon nanotube layer that is designed to redirect impact, explosive and metaphysical energy into a line which drives that energy into the city vibranium power core.
  
• The foundation like every building in the city comes with a semilar power redirection system to protect against earthquakes, sink holes, and techtonic shifts. The building is positioned on a personal hemisphere made of adamantium, if the building is sunk into a sink hole there will be no structural damage.
  
• The Computer system that runs the heating system uses an artificial hive mind matrix that prevents it from being taken over by things such as technokinesis.
  
• There arent many camera's inside either of the complex's there are however some there and there locations will not be revealed. However if an offensive or suspicous personel is found they will direct the attention of the security guards. This wont be an aggressive amount of attention because ofcourse the lu-bu doors are allways open.
  
• Gaian Bank Insurance policy, ensures that if the dojo is destroyed due to natural or unnatural causes; or if there is any structural damage to the dojo. The bank will pay 100% of the cost to rebuild.
  

Our financial Sources

• Hundreds of NPC members use the dojo's workout facilities every day for a set fee. The fighters in the dojo however are able to become members free of pay.
  
• The gaian power plants are extremmly cheap due to the availability of metaphysics.
  
• Our Martial Arts team is sponsered by several gaian companies because we advertise there signs in our gym and on our clothes during combat.
  
• We sell martial arts fights in contracted agreements to several private parties.

Age: Lost to time.
D.O.B: Wasn't born in the official sense.
Race and Origin: Though not of an official or outstanding race, Shimo originally lived on a distant planet which was much like earth. He arrived through the earth immigration program making a few omissions about his identity.

Weight: 200Lbs
Personality: Introvert.
History:In the world he comes from he was referenced in some of the legends.
Appearance:His outfit normally consists of blue clothing which are normally tight enough to not fall in the way while fighting. The styles of his clothes change continually. He has long bangs which fall over his eyes in loose pointed curls. his facial features are not overly impressive, but may be considered chiseled. His hair is a near black shade of blue, and his skin resembles the color cornflower blue.
Martial Arts Styles: Self-Trained
Weapons and Equipment: Uses water, which he normally draws along with himself beneath the ground. However in instances where this water source is not availible he will combine use of the small amount of water from the air, and from his own body... a very taxing process to be certain.
Special Abilities: Hydro-kinetic. Not magical.




Bumping shoulders with many other people on the sidewalk, Shimo searched for somewhere to escape. Every building seemed so closed off and imposing. He could not stop to look around as he was being pushed along. Then he saw the marble and glass exterior of the gym as if inviting him inside. With some small difficulty, he managed to get to the platform before the doors, through the pedestrians.
"Lu Bu: Dojo of Martial Arts Excellence." He read aloud to himself. After pausing briefly to catch his breath, he stepped in through the doors and stopped.

Race:Human/Demon/??? (??? simply means my final transformation into my powerful form as Guardian of the Light. The race is a celestial unknown, even to me.)

Style:Self-taught. I fight in a very unique free-form style mostly using my sword skills.

Abilities:(I'll add more to this later. I still don't have past my LF 25% covered here. All forms include incredible acrobatic ability and the ability to use telekinesis, improving with each transformation.

Human Form:Because of my amazing energy circulation, I am slightly stronger, slightly faster, and much more agile and acrobatically skilled than an average human. Abilities include: Azure Ark

Demon Form:When transformed, My energy increases about 20x. I gain about thrice my strength, incredible speed, greatly increased agility and acrobatics. Here, I don't sweat or overheat, as my body's heat is realeased with waves of energy. Because of this, things around me often get very hot in this form. I also have some control of magma under the ground, and can manipulate it into walls and pillars for attack or defense. Abilities include: Azure Ark, Red Ripper, Death Discs, Flames of Fear

Luster Form:Here, I become a bit more serious, or a lot, depending on my opponent. In this form, I start at 1% of my full power. My energy then is about 20 times that of my demon form, and takes on a light form. Amateur Dark attacks have no effect on me at all. Strong ones do a great deal less then they would. Light attacks have little to no effect, depending. My wings can block any physical attack. I have superbly grand strength, incredible speed, and I can purify dark beings, unless they are evil of their own will. All of my minor wounds and cuts heal immediately. Deep gashes, broken bones, lost limbs >.> require a good focus and some of my energy used to heal them. With this same principle in mind, I can fully heal other people and comrades of mine instantly.People who are near me when I am in this form (and not fighting them razz ) Feel a sense of calmness, warmth, and security. Abilities include: Sacred Arts, Light Laser, Blinding Blast, Heaven's Hurricane, Shining Sphere, Avian Arrow, Rising Dragon's Flashing Jaws(+) Light Limit(Never used before)

Weapon:A sword handed down to me from ancesters through generations that can reveal one's true emotions when their reflection is seen in it. The handguard curls up on either side. However, in my luster form, it becomes a double-edged broadsword with symbols engraved in it that not even I can decipher.

Appearance:All forms have my same face and body structure. I have long, silver hair and a gentle face. Human:5'6" Royal yukata is all I wear. I look like any other fit human. Demon:5'6" Royal Yukata and fur covers whole body and a long tail. Fangs are seen, but only when grinning or snarling. Luster:5'10"Eight magnificient wings and a white aura around me. No shirt, just silver pants. Bare feet. All the wings are from my back.

Personality:I am happy-go-lucky and care-free, though during battle I become more serious. I have a warm, tender personality and would never hurt or kill anyone unless they are evil and I can't purify them. When I am fighting to protect someone else, especially my friends, I also become more serious.

Strengths:As a fighter I am extremely powerful and find it very easy to move around and use my environment to my advantage. I also can manipulate my energy at a level far higher than most people, so I can create very powerful attacks with it, such as forming sharp discs and blazing fire, or even make copies of myself, but all this depends on how tough the opponent that I am fighting is.

Weaknesses:I often worry about hurting my opponent and if they seem to be in trouble, I may drop my guard. I also don't have much endurance. If I get hit once by a very powerful attack, I will probably be down for the count.

Room:I do not currently have a room as a result of limited boarding.

Short bio: Most of my past life I prefer to keep a secret. I was at one point in my life faced with a terrible demonic transformation, but thanks to an old friend, this now only happens during the harvest moon. I can turn into a "Demon Form" at will, but it is not a full transformation. I am just tapping into those sealed powers. When I turned 17, I discovered my powers as Guardian of the Light in transformation I call Inus Luster. I joined Lu-Bu in 2004. At this point in my life, I just seek a good thrill fighting and to better myself through training.

Shimo looked at the strangely excited silver haired human. "Hide? No I'm looking for somewhere to rest my mind. But I assume that you know about this place which caught my eye?" he asked taking a slow gaze around the room.

Here in Lu-Bu, is where Gods and Bar-Brawlers can fight as equals, and all are welcome.
The building in which you now reside is atop a Misty Mountain, far away, where only the exceptionally strong could get, for it is over a 3000 foot climb, nearly 500 of these feet vertical.

Why am I talking in poem, I really can't say, for I've never done it before.

To be succinct, one could refer to my statement, 9 lines (seven in print) back, and also note that this is the best place to train and PARTY!"

Throughout this speech, I had spun about, leapt two and fro, and swung my sword wildly around, finishimg with the tip of my blade less than an inch from this fellow's nose. I pulled i back and put my hand on my hips, beaming, feeling so energetic after the new renovations.

Hearing that they were atop a mountain, he looked back out the glass doors onto the busy street in the middle of a city. "Uhhh... huh..." he said slightly amused by the man's antics. "Are you proficient at sparring then?" he asked looking into the next room where the white sofas looked inviting, since he'd been standing so long.

I tilted my head and gazed out the window.

"Mmm? Oh, I see..."

I moved to the wall behind me and pressed it. Out slid a hidden pad with numbers on it. I pressed a certain combo, and the busy scene outside changed to an a flat mountaintop, a good heaight above the ground.

"You see, while the complex was being rebuilt, those who were not already members, or were perhaps not considering themselves to be so, would not detect any presence here. It was an energy cloaking device. The building you walked into is really an empty place, which contained a portal into this place. It's only a good twenty-five miles or so from town. We were teleported here, from the teleportation location in which I was standing guard at, which no longer exists. The gym on the other hand, a separate building, is actually in the city, but in a different place. Only really great fighters could see the building you entered as Lu-Bu. Normal people see a vacant lot."

I breathed in with a gasp.

"GASP! Huff, huff... Oh, and yes, I am a senior member, and one of the most powerful fighters here, though I may not look it."

Shimo blinked at what he was told. "So I was teleported here through a vacant lot which is invisible to the normal eye... but my eye was abnormal enough to see what was really there, but now I'm here through my desire to get away from that steel monstrosity they call Barton?" he said in a single exhale for dramatic effect. It now seemed that they had both winded themselves. "So... this... isn't a gym? and if I walk back through those doors I'll be back in that city and not that nice serene mountaintop location?"

Shimo blinked at what he was told. "So I was teleported here through a vacant lot which is invisible to the normal eye... but my eye was abnormal enough to see what was really there, but now I'm here through my desire to get away from that steel monstrocity they call Barton?" he said in a single exhale for dramatic effect. It now seemed that they had both winded themselves. "So... this... isn't a gym? and if I walk back through those doors I'll be back in that city and not that nice serine mountaintop location?"

A cheery smile still rest upon my face.

"Oh no, you're actually here... Well, most people who come here could either make the trip from here to Durem in five minutes to one hour, I myself have the responsibility of doing all of the shopping, so it takes me about 45 minutes there and back, if you add about 25 minutes to find all the groceries and an extra 15 from my care not to break them on the way back. Most people who can't go that fast probably are wanting to stay here for a bit."

I proceeded to lift my sword before me and with a damp rag, which floated over from the kitchen, I started to polish it, having calmed down a great deal, apparently. I made my way over to the lounge area and sat, mumbling:

"Of course, if you want to go back, I can just fly you... Then it'd be ever so lonely here again... But it's okay, I'm used to that."

Shimo smiled at being relatively ignored by the strange little man. "Go back? now why would I want to do that?" he said heading into the lounge room to sit down. "You live here then?" sighing he sat on the nice white couch and let out a subdued yawn.

Shimo started to think about the man before him, his quirky nature seemed to be concealing something about himself. 'I wonder if he's really that guarded of a person?' Shimo thought to himself. 'He doesn't seem to be the type to ide things...' His thoughts trailed off while he was staring into a wall.

My work being done, I lay my sword on the coffee table and closed my eyes peacefully.

"Indeed. Sieg-sensei, when he was in charge, took me in here from the streets before I was even an adult. I live two stories above, in the small sitting room, on the floor, or I guess in the occasional couch. It really doesn't matter, I wouldn't move out of this place for anything."

I opened my eyes and saw this fellow's reflection in my sword. What did I see? I wouldn't say, other than this:

"So you are unfamiliar with this place... I mean, not just this building... Am I right?"
