In the year 2040 a company named Future Pharmaceutical Corp. appeared out of no where. They quickly gained success in the market place and by 2050 they expanded their company to include the study and testing of genetics.The public, as well as the government, fully supported the cooperation for all the discoveries they'd made in medicine and science, though they knew little of went on behind the scenes of Future Corp... the testing, inhuman experiments

The city of Ceresco is where Future Corp. has made their head quarters. It is one of the largest cities on the planet, the center of entertainment and an economic boom: everyone who is everyone has moved there, and everyone tiring to make it big. it is the city to run off to, so of course no one would notice when kids with no home and no one to come back to would go missing; it was Future Corp who plucked them off the streets. How else do you think it was possible for such a large corporation to figure out what caused genetic disorders so quickly? Human experiments, genetic testing, all the likes. Little did the public know....

Come the rise of their success, Future Crops agenda began to change. They’d conquered most disease and identified what caused most genetic defects, what else was there to delve into? The answer was simple: Genetically Enhanced humans, or as they call the subjects, "Taints". Who wouldn't want super powers after all?

In a matter of months they had the first test trial: resulting in four scientists dead and one subject unconscious and another dead, and one missing.

They had not planned for the unexpected. They did not expect that the subjects would lash out and lose control. They did not expect the genetic powers they would receive would be different from anticipated. Everything had gone wrong. But Future Corps had already ventured onto new grounds and they would not turn back. It took more than a few months but they would soon have test trials under control.

There was one key factor in deciding genetic abilities, as the research team would find out the hard way. They could not pick what abilities were given to the subjects nor could predict how the subjects would take to the serum: some died while some lived. Most died, the human mind nor body could not take the injections.

The year now is 2065: Future Corp has perfected genetically infused human "tainted" serum; they’ve stricken a deal with the government to keep their testing under the radar if they get a cut of the test subjects as well as if they fund their research for future projects. Six years before they had the first break out of test subjects, who now run wild in Ceresco, as they put it, and two years ago there was another break out of subjects. The government demand that Future Crops do something about these break outs. They've answered with a new brand of subjects, they call them "Perfects" seeing how they've predicted their abilities, or the majority of them.

Easy and simple: respect your fellow roleplayers and partners. Don't pick fights or single someone out, if you've got something rude and mean to say, keep it to yourself: there is a difference between being a critic and being rude and insulting.


III. Literacy

Ladies and Gentleman, I aim for this roleplay to be Literate. Now we all have different definitions of the level of literacy so I'll make my definition clear: four to five good lengthy paragraphs, good grammar, and accurate spelling and word choice. Do keep this in mind as you write, and remember: QUALITY over QUANTITY.


IV. Activity

I aim to keep this roleplay alive and well, and with that comes willing participants. I keep it to posting twice a week and staying active in the ooc once in a while. I understand that life is a priority and if posting is impossible take and place your character in a situation where other characters can bypass them.
Another thing to keep in mind will be activity sweeps: it is were if you do not post before said date you will be taken out of the roleplay. I will be posting the dates in the ooc and IC.


V. Characters

Characters are free-formed, meaning you make them up. When making your character please look at characters accepted and make sure they do not copy nor mirror characters that have already been accepted. I am allowing each person to create two characters as well.
Please keep this in mind with powers as well: check powers people have already put to use. If it is a strong power balance out the strengths and weakness.

At the moment I am ONLY accepting male characters.

I. TAINTS

First generation experiments. They were human, plucked from the streets or from orphanages, or taken from promising families. They were humans, and they still are, only their genetic make up has been altered ever so slightly. The serum that was injected into them is what changes there make up and gives them a power at random, this abilities range from healing, to manipulating the elements, to fusing your body with energy or objects. It was the eldest Taints that escaped six years ago, in 2059 and assisted in helping the younger ones escape, in 2063.
If the public were to find out about them they wouldn't call them humans though, they'd call them monsters.


II. PERFECTS

The older ones started off as human, but they were soon disregared as Taints after Future Corp figured out how to grow test-tube babies. With the test-tube babies they were tough and could with stain the strain the serum puts on the body, and it was much easier for their genetic make up to be manipulated to target a certain type of ability. They are the preferred method to making Genetically Infused Humans, or Genetically Infused Test-tube Babies. Taints are still made for the reason of the unknowing power they hold.
As of right now, they are being made to hunt down and kill or bring in the Taints that have escaped. Taints are wanted dead or alive, and Perfects have been released to look for them.
The public would do more then call these things monsters.

WEATHER


It is around midday with a slight chill in the air. There is small wind coming through just enough to make people wear a jacket. Clouds hang low in the sky as the moon and stars shine bright, welcoming the dead as some cultures believe.



WHAT IS GOING ON


In past months Future Pharmaceutical Corporation has been pouring money into Ceresco: donating money to hospitals and businesses to upgrade their equipment and security systems. New cameras, alarms, hired security from a private owned agency recommended by Future Corps. The main reason they’ve been giving money to businesses and hospitals was to be able to infiltrate the area to try and find the escaped Taints.

There are some Perfects who’ve been recruited to do security in the area in order to track them down as well as been released to live in the public, monitored by Future Corp. The end goal is to capture the Taints, dead or alive. Perfects have been keeping a low profile, but with the murders of Taints making the news, the remaining Taints know something is up.

Gin knows of the murders, the Taints all do, it is their friends getting killed, and Gin as well as the Taints know it is Future Corp, but they know little of the Perfects.

It is Halloween today, and there is no room to think about murders and how you're going to survive till next week! Gin has planned a Halloween Masqurade at his Bar and Grill: everyone invited! The only catch is that you have to be wearing a costume, a mask, or a rather fancy dress and mask. He is selling masks there as well. There are food, drinks, and candy provided, as well as karaoke and dance on the second floor. A best dress and costume contest is going on, as well as a karaoke contest.

This is a night to let yourself be free! It is open to all Taints, Perfects, and the public!
