Welcome to Veil, Inc.

Veil, Inc. is an urban fantasy RP. You may play a human character, a monster character, or anything in between! Anything you'd like, it is fantasy. The premise is that humans and monstrous races (witches, demons, leprechaun, fae, vampires, angels, weres, anthros, what ever your heart desires) have been mixed in secretly with society, hiding relatively peacefully with humans since the dawn of time. Veil, Inc. is ran by monsters, disguising as humans, and employs many other such beings. In fact, there is an entire department (Seekers) dedicated to finding other different individuals to give them a place to work, a safe haven full of people like them, and to generally better police and keep an eye on the populations.

Veil, Inc. is run by The Council. The Council is an organization of each society's elite, leaders, and/or other influential members. They single-handedly make and enforce the rules surrounding all monster-kind in this world. At present, the Council has decreed that monster kind is best kept hidden, for their own sake and that of the humans. The chaos that a reveal would ensue would not be worth the freedom of 'coming out'. On the surface, Veil runs similarly to the modern day company Amazon. They are the world's leading source of mail and online deliveries. Many humans are also employed under Veil, albeit usually on deliveries outside of headquarters.

Of course, with so many hidden monsters in one place, slip ups are bound to happen. Humans are beginning to get suspicious of what exactly Veil is, or what it does. In recent events, several people have have gone missing around headquarters, only to find their bodies disposed of in the trash behind the building.

Setting

"They paved paradise, and put up a parking lot."

In the middle of the city where its largest park used to be stands an impossibly tall skyscraper. Its top floor is so high up that it cannot be seen on anything but a perfectly clear day as clouds obscure it. Its outside is shaped like a cone, getting thinner toward the top. The tower is made of an ebony reflective surface, and in large chrome lettering above the front automatic doors are the wrods: Veil, Inc.. It has been about 5 years since Veil, Inc. showed up in this town, and it's easily become the largest corporation in the area, supplying the most jobs to the most people. No one is really sure where they came from, or how the building seemed to have gone up overnight, but one thing is for sure: Veil, Inc. is here to stay.

Veil employs over 10,000 employees here at its main branch. Much of the company's work is performed underground on its basement level in what is a giant mail room. In fact, the mail room employs two-thirds of Veil's employees alone. It is led by a very round, very short woman who looks warmer than she feels. Lillian Harper is best known for her high-pitched voice and high-inched waist.

On the other end of the building, the top floor and very tip of the tower, is the company's CEO, Lani Weaver. Tall, thin, and full of confidence, Lani manages Veil, Inc. Just what they do besides delivering mail is a mystery that only the CEO knows, but many have pointed toward underhanded dealings. Have you come to figure it out? Are you a reporter looking for the truth? A new intern? A new hire? Or are you here about that? Were you hired under the special interests team? Well, that would indicate that you're different too. No matter the case, we look forward to seeing you.

The Dead End Tavern

Just down the road from Veil, Inc. is the local hotspot, The Dead End Tavern. Many employees come here to rejuvenate their weary souls after a hard day's work. It's relatively new in town, but it's got a rustic feel to it that would make one believe it's been there forever!

If you have trouble with spelling, consider switching to a browser that will check your text input for you automatically, or typing your posts in a word processor. I don't expect paragraphs, but 'you' is not spelled 'u.' No chat-speak please, and actions should be written without any of the following symbols: // ** --

③ No unnecessary bumping.

④ No god-moding/Auto hitting/Power playing.
Remember to let your opponent land some hits, not everyone can suddenly go super sayain and be Kenshiro with his death touch. Play fair. And if you don't know what those are please ask. It is all about everyone having a equal chance to have fun.

⑤ Please refrain from flaming and/or trolling in this thread.
It goes against the Gaia T.O.S and if you do see someone flaming or trolling do not feed them. Have a thick skin and control your temper. Trolling doesn't deserve a response, and please don't validate anyone's idiocy by letting it get you riled up. Just go about your business like normal until a mod bans them.

⑥ Separate IC and OOC.
This is a role play and hangout, so please separate your IC and OOC actions. You may use another font color (fonts that are not too bright are appreciated!) or brackets, for example.

⑦ OOC drama should not be dealt with here.
Please take any problems you may have with a player into a PM and handle it there.

⑧ No advertising. If your first and only post is asking someone to RP with you in PMs, we reserve the right to ban you. You are not contributing to our thread (in fact, you are taking RP away from it), and this will be considered advertising. Signature banners and the like are acceptable.

⑨ You break it, you fix it.
If your character causes any collateral damage, they are expected to fix it and clean up after themselves.

*Violators are subject to IC and/or OOC punishment depending on the circumstances. I reserve the right to put users on ignore at any time. Cases may be appealed to the Bunnhilator for re-consideration. Decisions will be made by a panel of thread moderators.

① Do I need a profile?
No, this is an open, walk-in friendly RP. You are free to come and go as you please, and as such a profile is not required. If you really want to submit one, I could dig up a template and/or create a separate thread.
