How can I decide what's right
When you're clouding up my mind?
I can't win your losing fight
All the time...
Not gonna ever own what's mine
When you're always taking sides
But you won't take away my pride.

She looked back at him, her crimson eyes glinting Oh, so michievously. She walked back to his side, one hand on her hip. Her gaze was fixed on the humans, yet again. A group of three males and two females. She bit her lower lip, pondering. "Yes, patience... But... A little snack could do no wrong, right? I mean, I'm hungry and all..." She licked her lips, and put her other hand under her chin, thinking to herself. Curiousity was getting the best of her... But their scent... Their warm skin... She was being tempted. She longed for the feeling of warm blood running down her throat, calming her thirst.

"Hmm, you know, You've convinced me. Let's take the chase, then." She stood on her tip-toes and kissed his cheek, chuckling to herself and then skipping to the entrance of the forest. Ah, she was in a really good mood tonight. "I take the two males on the right. They look tasty." She pouted playfully back at him, and stuck out her tongue. Putting her arms behind her, she waited for him to catch up, oh no, she wasn't going there alone. It was a complete new world to her, and she felt safer if she was with her brothers. Even though she knew humans were powerless against her, but she just wanted company.

[[Haha xD. I think it's fine.]]

Great. She thought, noticing the people approaching her. Amelia wasn't really in a talkative mood, and she recognised at least one of the faces in the crowd before her. Fortunately, she was more than several meters from them, walking down a long road that would bring her into the suburb in which she resided. If she kept quiet enough, and kept a constant distance behind them, never increasing her speed or attracting attention, then she could probably avoid having to speak to them whilst she was there.

The group consisted of three guys, and two girls. It was pretty obvious they'd been hanging out around town for most of the day, and one of them had clearly been drinking too much. It was the couple; consisting of a very tall, dark-haired and shabby-looking man and the almost as tall, mini-skirt wearing giggler that she knew; one of them being a gym instructer she knew fairly little of from her occasional exertions there, the other being her hairdresser, whom she knew a little better. The others, however, were enigmas, and Amelia wanted nothing to say or do with them.

As they wandered down the concrete, Amelia reduced her speed as much as she could without stopping, moving her head back upto the sky above her. The stars were beautiful at night, after all. Eventually, the group began to get further and further away, much to the teenager's satisfaction.
It's not that their bad people. She thought, feeling slightly cowardly. More that I dread the forced, awkward conversations. It's most likely that they'll feel the same way, and won't speak to me. I'm fine on my own, anyway.

To her right was the forest, as serene and quiet as ever. She didn't pay much attention to it, noticing nothing but the rustling of trees and birds flying through them. The road she was walking along side was fairly empty of cars, suprising for this time of night, but all the better for her. She knew it showed poor comman sense to be walking alone in a place like this, but knew that there wasn't much else she could do to get home. Her parent's car had broken down yesterday, and she had no intention of worrying them over nothing. Hopefully, this would be over quickly.

And so, I enter into the storm of shadows.
As pitch-black as the depths of sea.
Become a mere castaway, amidst the weary crowds.
Consumed by somber, ashen clouds,
With heavens frowning over me.

((I'm fairly certain this is a fail post from me, too. Tell me if I've made some big mistake in where everyone is/setting/etc sweatdrop I'll correct it.))

..::.. Johvan Sable Blake ..::..

Johvan smiled at his sisters final resignation to the idea of a little hunt and game, to sate their ever present thirst. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he watched Karlien making the first move towards the edge of the forest, and he followed after her slowly. There was little to no rush, after all. There was no place to run to, and no one knew they were there. He liked giving his prey that false state of security. Power in numbers? That was hardly the case.

Nhi'kiti hissed from her coiled place on Johvan's arm, and he paused in his step to kneel down and release her unto the world. He felt her joy. Her excitement at the idea, the possibility, of a quick hunting. She would prove ever useful to him. Johvan watcher the snake curl her way through the grass and into the darkness. Nhi'kiti's white scales barely visible in the darkness of the night. Her excitement spurred him to move onward. He stood and continued after Karlien, reaching the edge of the forest in a matter of moments, making not a sound as he moved.

"Can you handle a pair, my dear?" He spared her a glance, grinning playfully, a hint of his fangs showing in the moonlight. "Good luck, little sister. May your hunt be as thrilling as mine." And he started. Circling slowly around the group, eyeing the three he was most interested in. The three he had been charged to kill. He could feel their hearts pulsing, their blood running. For a moment he was lost in the smell of the blood running just a few layers under their skin. He could feel Nhi'kiti somewhere ahead. She was just as enthralled in this hunt as he was. he could feel her desire to kill, and it send a wave of desire through him.

Johvan needed to kill. There was nothing left of him besides that single, clear desire.

And then there was more. He paused in his observing and turned to look the other way. His nose picked up a scent, something sweeter than what he'd been looking at. A distraction? Perhaps. He felt Nhi'kiti halt her advance. She was annoyed, he could feel it. But he couldn't turn back to the group. This new smell... She would taste much... Much better, he could tell. With less than a moment to think about it, Johvan forgot the three he had intended to conquere, his attention solely one this one, lone girl. Nhi'kiti turned her attention completely as well, slithering quietly up the grass to attend to this new prey.

"Ah, my dear brother... I'm more than capable of handling them. Good luck to you too." She smirked maliciously, her crimson eyes glowing in the darkness of the night. Humming to herself, she appeared behind the group in a whim. She noticed her brother had changed directions... Sniffing the air slightly, she caught the smell. Ah, a female... Poor creature...

They didn't notice her. Her eyes were set on her prey. Two young guys, about 18-20 years old. She could feel their warm blood flow through their veins... Licking her lips, she giggled; Catching their attention, since they were a little far from the others.

They turned to look back at her, a confused expression on their face. That confussion was inmediately replaced by lust at the sight of her. "Oh... Hello there." One grinned sugestively at her, while the other just smirked. She bit her lower lip and then smiled slyly. "Umm... I'm new to the town, and I was kind of lost... Could you please help me?" She trailed off, looking up at them hopefully. As she did, she caught their gazes. Her eyes glowed a lighter shade of red, and she could feel her charm begin to take effect. "Of course, where do you want to go?" They both replied in unison with a dazed look.

She chuckled, and took both their arms, hooking hers with theirs. "Ah, well... What about a dark, solitary place?" She couldn't help but smirk, it was too easy. She hummed, smiling to herself and took them to a nearby dark alleyway in between two old buildings. "I promise it won't hurt much." She smirked. "Let's see... You go first." She pointed at the dark-haired one, the taller of the two. She put her hands on his shoulders, and pushed him to the ground, so he was sitting down. Still smirking, she sat on his lap and licked his neck. Ah, she could feel the blood flowing freely through his veins, behind his warm skin. Now her fangs were potruding from her open mouth, and she bit down on his soft flesh. He yelped, and grabbed her waist in reflex. Instantly, a gush of blood flowed into her mouth, making her close her eyes and enjoy the taste. He was now quiet, since it was a pleasurable sensation for him. For the next few minutes, she drank and drank, until there was nothing left. "Ooops, my bad..." She stood up, his lifeless body falling limp to the ground.

Turning around to face the other guy, she smirked. He had chocolate brown hair and green eyes... The cuter of the two in her opinion. His eyes were still glazed over, looking into nothing, unaware of what was going on around him. "Ah, such a shame..." She shook her head playfully and grabbed the back of his head, planting a soft kiss on his lips. Smiling playfully, she tackled him to the ground and sat on his waist, her head on the nape of his neck. Taking in the scent of his warm blood, she licked his neck and bit down, savoring the delicious taste it had. "Hmm, it's good... But Johvan's right. Not as good as our cousin's. His breathing became labored, and she could feel his heart pounding loudly in his chest. After a moment, she was finished. She licked the wound and stared at his lifeless eyes, once so green and full of life...

"Aww..." She pouted and stretched her arms, still sitting on him. Her thirst had been satisfied, and she was now ready to go. Licking her bloody lips, she stood up and yawned slightly. Slowly, she made her way out of the alley, she was sure her brother would leave a huge mess behind.

It's nothing. Amelia told herself, Nothing at all.
She was ashamed of herself, of her nervousness. Why was it that she, who was supposed to be strong, independent, and most importantly intelligent, scared of something as simple as a dark night on her lonesome? It was no longer the group ahead of her- they were fairly far away now, and it was more the fear of an awkward meeting that had driven her away than a genuine fear for her life. But something was making the small hairs on her neck stand on end, making her breath suddenly speed up, heart beginning to race.

She hadn't seen anything, only hearing the swishing of the long grass nearby. There were a million logical connections she could make to the sound; a rabbit, the wind, a slumbering drunkard shifting in his or her dreams. But her mind, her imagination made up twice fold as many suggestions- beasts, rapists, killers, out for her blood. It was enough to drive her into a faster pace, but Amelia resisted.
I'm better than this. She scolded herself, taking deep breaths to calm down her heart. I'm better than being scared of shadows. Think logically, Amelia, think logically.
After a spell, she managed to calm herself down. She was right; it was ridiculous, being afraid of the night. Life she'd said to herself earlier, the city at was no more or less dangerous than the city in day. The only difference was in brightness levels.

Eventually reaching the end of the street, Amelia turned left, away from the forest and into closer-knit, criss-crossing roads. Amelia used her time to observe the area around her- after all, she usually passed through this place via car, meaning she say very little of it. It had a certain charm- though the actual residences were some way away she could see a few shops and a petrol station nearby. Flicking one of the buttons on her coat, Amelia carried on walking. Nearly home.

All too soon, Amelia was at the park. It was a quiet night, and she couldn't see anyone in the area except for the local junkie, who was lying on his back smoking who-knows-what in the distance. To take her mind off things, Amelia observed the scenery before her with a serene expression. Moonlight really did make things more beautiful- and the full circle above her head only brightened the silver glint from wet grass and leaves. The walkways running up the side of the area, one of which she was traversing right now, had bushes on one side, and sparsely-planted trees on the other. Just ahead of her was a small children's playground, covered in graffiti and discarded gloves.

And so, I enter into the storm of shadows.
As pitch-black as the depths of sea.
Become a mere castaway, amidst the weary crowds.

Lothario Giovanni Massimo, real name unknown

Lothario kicked back and placed his feet on the desk. He looked frusteratedly around at the safehouse that was more like a cave; there were no windows in the room. Goddamit, did anyone ever do more than try around here? Another one his men were dead, and the Black Rose hadn't any kills in for weeks. This month it was Vampires: 1 and Black Rose: 0.

I don't like losing. Lothario twiddled his thumbs. What was even worse was that the man who died hadn't even gone out fighting. He'd been found bitten in the neck. What a careless idiot, to let the vampires get close at all like that.

Well, i've just got to crack down harder then. Not let anyone slip up. Start making examples. But how? Lothario was bored of just sitting here giving directions. Honestly, he was better at taking directions, than giving them. He'd been taking orders all his life before being made the Leader. It was infuriating, that he had to just sit and watch while everyone else had fun. Well, not exactly fun, but they got to go kill the vampires, right?

He stood up suddenly. No, he was not going to just sit here, drinking Earl Grey Tea in Black Rose headquaters. He was going outside and getting the job done. Lothario made for the steel double doors that exited from his personal office. He typed in the password. P-A-S-S-W-O-R-D. He slipped outside, and was a little surprised to see it was dark. Perhaps he should've checked the weather and time, was he getting that lazy? Lothario put it out of his mind and calmly put the mask of indifferent optimism on. He would need to be careful in the dark, the vampires would be stronger, but Lo always liked a challenge. He glanced quickly behind him to see the door that was disguised as normal residential door, was secure. Then he set to walking, at a nice even pace.

He hadn't got very far when he noticed a sudden movement out of an alleyway off to the side. A girl with long red hair had come out of there. Her lips were a deep red, and made more noticable by the suspicious red smears trailing off. Lothario, tried to keep his face from expressing a little surprise. Lipstick problem? No it's blood. He calmly continued walking, looking for a fire escape. He was feeling irritated that the vampires had gotten this close to his new hideout. Where should he shoot her from? Atop a building? Yea, he could probably get her from there, even without a rifle.

Johvan kept his distance from this new prey, but he never fell far enough behind to lose track of her. Not that he could, her smell was remarkable and he could probably follow her without being so close. Not that he wanted to do that, watching her was to much enjoyment to pass up. She looked nervous, afraid. She smelt the like as well. It sent a shiver down the vampires spine. She knew he was there, without actually knowing. A sense of foreboding, perhaps? Whatever it was, Johvan liked it.

He moved like the wind, passing through the grass without disrupting anything in his wake. Along the way, Johvan had picked up Nhi'kiti, who had been straggling behind without much hope to catch up. He had a most beautiful idea, and she would be useful. The snake flicked her tongue, coiling herself comfortably down her master's arm. She was excited, enough to mimic Johvan's own. It had been such a long time since either of them had slain anything together.

Jovi hesitated a moment while the girl regarded a man in the distance; a fowl smelling beast if he'd ever smelt one. He took a moment to consider this man as a threat to his game, but none arose. He would ignore the man, avoid him if anything, that smell was disgusting, and Johvan wanted nothing to do with it if he had a choice. He could feel Nhi'kiti twitching at the smell as well. To think that Humans would allow themselves to fall to such a low level that even Vampires wouldn't dare sink their fangs into them?

He followed closely behind the girl, but remained silent and invisible. After a point, Johvan released the snake back into the grass, and she slithered away quickly. Nhi'kiti understood what she had to do, and it wasn't much longer before her actions were required. The girl, as Johvan stalked her, came close to a park, for the children to play in. It was empty and quiet now, but that was for the better. In the darkness, he could see the faint white scales of the snake circling in the grass under the moonlight. moving in closer, and closer, with each passing moment.

Finely, Nhi'kiti curled between the girls shoes, slithering ahead of her. She coiled then, a few paces ahead of Johvan's victim, and lifted herself up out of the grass, body arched and hissing in threat. The moon glinted off of the snakes white scales, and she looked larger than she actually was.

As soon as Nhi'kiti hissed, Johvan moved up behind the girl, waiting, ready to catch her when she decided to run.

Amelia was shocked, when she laid eyes onto the reptile in front of her. It was a strange, pink coloured thing, with deep, ruby, slit-like eyes that watched her stand there, it's body arched into the air. Though it was dark, she swore she could see circular patterns embedded on the creature's skin, but wasn't entirely sure.
I have to be sure. She thought, suddenly. If I get bitten I need to know what type of snake bit me so I can recieve the anti-toxin.

She squinted at the snake, taking care not to move, yet. Movement would cause the snake to attack prematurely, something she definately didn't want. Confirming the slight circles, Amelia prepared herself to run. She was fairly calm. Why was she calm?!
What is a snake doing here?! She almost laughed, hysterically. It didn't make any sense; nor had she ever seen or heard a reptile of that colour. It was a fairly ridiculous colour, for camoflage. Not only that, but snakes weren't exactly common occurences on the park roads. This whole set up was almost too ridiculous to believe.

The snake hissed, and immediately the situation became perfectely believable. It's going to bite me! She thought, desperately. Amelia threw herself to the side as quickly as possible, twisting away as she did so in order to be able to run away immediately. After all, snakes could jump a suprisngly long way forward, and she wasn't taking any chances. As soon as she did turn though, she noticed someone standing there, right behind her.
Who is that? She thought, still in mid-air. This whole set-up had never been more suspicious.

Her head whipped to the side, inmediately noticing a man. He looked to be about 20-25 years old. She decided to ignore it, and continue as if nothing happened. Following her brother's scent, she spotted him in no time, keeping her distance. "Might as well watch the show..." She shrugged to herself, watching the human female jump. Nhi'kiti was doing her job. With a small chuckle, she jumped silently into one of the trees that surrounded the street. Ah, the view was perfect. Sitting down so her legs were hanging off the branch, she hummed to herself softly.

Adjusting her gaze briefly on the horizon, she watched the position of the moon carefully. Three hours left for dawn... Jovhan had better to hurry he hell up with his little game, they couldn't afford to be seen openly in daylight. Those thoughts aside, she decided to entertain herself watching the situation below her. Would Jovhan kill her instantly, or play his little gory game, like he always did? Pondering, she watched the girl. Her scent was good, in comparison to other humans... And she was pretty too, Jovhan was lucky today.

Suddenly, a bizarre thought invaded her mind. What if he fell in love with her or something, like she had read in some human books? Pffft. The vampire falling in love with the human. Her lips turned up in a smirk, and then she began to laugh almost histerically, putting her hand over her mouth to remain as silent as possible. Calming down, she chuckled. That would be the most stupid, and hilarious thing ever. She was sure she was going to give him hell if that happened.

With a weird expression, she stopped chuckling and took her hand off her mouth. What the- Why was I thinking that? Pfft. I'm such a weirdo. Laughing again, she shook her head and observed her brother. Although it would be really interesting if that happened...
Sighing, Karlien shut down the bizarre thoughts and concentrated on what was happening below her. She then began to swing her legs softly, her hands on her lap.

Johvan was going to take his time with this one. Her smell, at this short a range, was far more delectable than he could have imagined, and the fear that mingled in with her natural smell was enough to make him groan in ecstasy. She was perfect, as far as humans went, and he was itching to indulge himself in her.

Before she could bolt at seeing him standing there, he held up one hand to stop any further actions. He planned on making this whole scenario as sweet as possible. After all, that tinge of betrayal that flashed in a victims eyes before death was the sweetest gift anyone could ever give. "I apologize if I've frightened you, my Lady, but it just so happens that you have what I'm looking for." Before she could assume what he meant, he knelt down in the grass and the white snake came to him. She curled herself up the sleeve of his arm and poked her head out the collar of his shirt curiously, eyes not leaving the girl."Nhi'kiti doesn't usually run away, I've been looking for her most of the night. Did she frighten you?"

Johvan played on that gentlemanly air that seemed to linger around him, working with the idea that in this game, he was just an interesting man with good intentions. Agreed that it was strange that he was up at such an hour, but the snake had given him reason to be. It was difficult to hold back his excitement and simply jump her, and Nhi'kiti's edging were not helping any.

Lothario Giovanni Massimo, real name unknown

Lothario had quickly found a hiding place inside an abandoned apartment building, instead of on the roof. He was looking out a window that had been busted out, sometime ago. The good thing was almost all the windows on his level, the 4th floor, were broken out; no one could see exactly where a bullet would come from. Just as he decided to go with a headshot, the girl quickly changed directions. Now why's she doing that? Spotted me? No... The girl had suddenly jumped into the trees. Lothario frowened. Something odd was going on. He took out his binoculars, and looked over her; she was staring ahead at something. He switched the view of binoculars over where she was looking, but in the dark he couldn't see anything. Lothario hurriedly twisted the knobs on the binoculars. Wait, there was somebody, a male? He could only see their back and that they had a larger form than a female would. But he couldn't think on this for long as they kept walking, and went out of sight. Interesting. What was he: Vampire or Human? And why was she watching him? Maybe he should capture the girl, and torture her to find out some answers before he killed her.

Only brought my damned pistol though.... Lothario bit his lip, contemplating the best action to take. I'll just kill her. I know for sure she's one of those damned things, anyway. Then i'll go back to the safehouse, arm myself better, and then find out more what the male's up to.

Lothario gently clicked off the safety. Too bad the vampire girl had to die, she was kinda cute in a morbid, pale way, he thought. Oh well. Should have been more careful not to become one..... She did look so innocent though, staring rapturously off into the distance. Shame. He aimed the pistol carefully. Even though he was so far away, Lothario didn't need a laser on his gun to know where to hit; he was that good. Or so he thought.

Maybe all that Earl Grey Tea and becoming leader had got to his head. He fired the pistol.

The bullet whizzed by just an inch from her ear. It snapped off a long strand of red hair.

Damn.

Her eyes widened and she gasped, watching how a strand of her hair snapped down. It was a bullet. A bullet aimed right at her head, and if she hadn't moved her head to the side unconciously she would have been heavily wounded.

She was alert now. Her crimson eyes scanned the area, nothing out of the ordinary. A hunter maybe? Who else would want to kill her without motive? She stood up on the branch, her crimson eyes were now slitted, meaning she was alert, preparing herself for anything. Calculating the direction the bullet came from, she spotted an old building across the street. Her mind was on hyperdrive now. If it was a hunter... She would kill him. Slowly and Painfully.

Looking down at her brother, she bit her lower lip. No, she was more than enough for this, and he was busy. With a deep breath, she jumped down the branch, and in the blink of an eye she was at the other side of the street. But what if they were more than one? She would be at a serious disadvantage, then. Thinking deeply, she looked back at her brother. These were the people that had kidnapped and possibly killed her parents. The most powerful vampires in the society. Stop it, get in there and give them hell. A deep frown now adorned her face. Her fists were clenched at her sides as she made her way into the building. Small sparks of electricity floated across the skin of her arms. It was her special ability; she could manipulate the electric currents of her environment at will, using her body as a conductor.

Oh, hell was what they were going to get.

"Naturally. Unexpected is an understatement." She murmured, staring at the man. He was perfect- there was no other word to describe him. However, Amelia herself wasn't entirely sure why. The man had strange, snake-like eyes, pale skin that hid the angular features of his face, framed by long dark hair that fell about him. These things, which would made most people look fairly creepy, simply worked for him. His courteous manner erased any misgivings she'd held about him almost immediately, despite the seclusion, the snake, the vulnerable situation she was in. He was, in looks and actions, a gentleman.

Stop staring! Stop now! She cried frantically, lost under myriad of other, less clean thoughts running through her head. Yet she was unable to unlock her eyes from him, desperately trying to look somewhere else, anywhere else, but only ending up looking at the man's feet, his hands, the snake poking out his shirt. Nhi'kiti. An odd name for an odd snake. Amelia wondered what breed it could be, whether it's bit was poisonous or not, how she could stay so close to him and yet not attack, despite being so ready to attack her a second ago. Oh, what she would've given at that moment to be that snake!

Shut UP! Amelia finally thought, forcing the action through her mind and setting it on the right track. After all, she wasn't going to have a fool made of herself. Not her. Just stay composed. Let's not put him off, shall we?

"Nhi'kiti's an interesting name." Amelia eventually remarked, dryly. It was taking a lot of effort not to indulge in every horrific chat-up line that came to mind. Even the one she was about to use was bad enough. "Does she share that quirk with her owner?"

Trying to maintain as cool a composure as possible on the outside, Amelia flicked her eyes up to her acquaintance's, then Nhi'kiti. It's ruby eyes seemed hungry, waiting. That's only natural, however. Amelia added, After all, it probably hasn't eaten in a while. Her heart was hammering, and she was thankful of the little light there was- otherwise he'd see her shamefully blushing. However, she was a little more in control now. Thank goodness.

Lothario Giovanni Massimo, real name unknown

Blink. Blink blink. Ice blue eyes stared incredulously, frozen at the spot she was now standing at. I missed? Lothario watched the red headed girl jump down from the tree, and dissapear from sight so quickly. HOW DID I MISS!?!

No time for that now. She was in the building, and coming after him. He could wait here, and shoot her when she appeared in the door, but they moved so fast... And when he'd just missed that easy shot, Lothario was feeling, off. A rare feeling of doubt in his abilities; yes, he was good, but she was faster. He needed time to think over what had just happened, but he didn't have time.

His brows furrowed, and then, he threw himself out the window. The 4th floor was higher up when he was falling, it seemed. Lothario hit the ground, tumbling, and ending in a curse. Lothario could still never get over the sudden jarring of the knees when that happened. He got up, and started running for the alleys in between the opposite buildings. What was the plan, again?
