Nearly ten thousand years ago humans ruled the earth, building huge steel structures as high as small mountains. They destroyed the world turning it into a wasteland. Slowly the earth began to die, and as the world began to end beings of myth began to reappear. With them they brought the power of the elements to mankind, slowly returning the balance of nature to where it belonged. The beings divided themselves into four clans, based on the elements they controlled. A leader for each clan was appointed to decide the fate of the human race. The meeting lasted for nearly a moon cycle before a decision was made.

Until humans proved themselves worthy of the earth and to sit alongside the beings of power the entire race would be enslaved. The council deemed that everything that remained of the humans rein would be destroyed. The clans teamed up, destroying the man made mountains, lakes and cities, leaving nothing but rubble and earth. Every human was hunted down and given a collar. The humans were divided into classes of slaves from protection to cleaning to pleasure slaves. Each clan took several classes that they would raise to sell to the others and divided to the four corners of the world. The fire dragons went to the west, the water sprites to the south, the earth fairies to the east, and the air shifters to the north.

Soon the clans began to war with each other for more land and power. The earth soon began to fall back into its destructive ways when a young human girl child broke free from her master during battle. She positioned herself between each of the leaders pleading for them to stop. Reminding them of their reason for returning to power in the first place. The leaders turned to each other and made a silent agreement. This child had won her race back their freedom with her soft spoken words. The clans returned to their lands leaving the humans to form a city where the four lands join. The child would then become the humans leader and representative at the council. Through her a treaty was signed. Every 500 years each clan would bring forth several of their best warriors to marry into another clan.

However as time has gone by the clans have forgotten this agreement. Forgetting all about the treaty signed thousands of years ago. War has begun once more, and it is once again up to the human race as the keepers of peace to fix it. The council was called back to the human city, where it was decreed that each clan would once again send forward their warriors for marriage. Unlike in the past the warriors would remain in the palace and under the watchful eyes of the council.

Society has come a long way from when the treaty was signed. While some may wish for an end to the fighting there are those few who revel in the chaos. Even though every kingdom has sent its chosen warriors not all of them are there for honest reasons, and while who they will marry has been decided for them, it does not mean that everything will work out as decreed. After all when you have twelve nobles from four clans crammed into one palace things are bound to end up interesting.

** Please note ** The races outlined above are not the only races you can be. Due to the treaty there is a great range of races with elemental powers. This has been caused by the bloodlines mixing. It is even common for humans to have elemental powers as well however they must move to live with the clan that controls that element.

There is also the option of being guards, staff as well as companions from each clan once more of the main roles have been filled.

1. The basics. Follow ToS, no godmodding, time skip if the clothes come off, and for the love of God don't make your character know OOC information they shouldn't. If you are going to be killing off a character please let me know why, as well as make sure you have permission to do so.

2. Shouldn't have to say this, but there have been problems with it in the past. Please read everything. Know what characters are in your area and know what they're doing before you post. At least know if they're trying to interact with you.

3. No auto-hitting or insta-love. Swear all you want.

4. You will be required to post within a week from the time that the person or people you are waiting on post(s).

5. Posts don't have to be long, but preferably at least 2 to 3 paragraphs. Writer's block is understandable, but you at least need to give people enough to work with. I believe in quality over quantity.

6. If you are unable to meet the above requirement for any reason, please let me know. I are very understanding and lenient if you have things going on in your life that are going to have to take priority, but only if you communicate with me.

7. Your posts should include a picture of your character and their name. Please include where they are, who they are with, and any extra info like that somewhere in the post layout. Try to spruce it up some if you can. Please, no blinding colors and font size should be at the very least 11.

8. If you have more then one character please do a separate post for each one, with a different posting color so that we know they are different people. You can not play more then two main roles. The only way you may play two main roles is if you play both a male and female.

9. Respect everyone. Be mature and civil and give people the benefit of the doubt. Try to resolve any problems as best you can with each other before coming to me. I will not tolerate consistent petty drama.

10. That being said, I don't bite. If you have a question or problem that you've tried to fix on your own, please come to me. I will be more than happy to help. I would rather you say something than just be confused and upset to the point where it makes you want to leave.

11. You can apply by posting in the app thread. There's more information on that page, which is linked in the first post.

12. Keep OOC talk to the OOC thread and discord chat, you will receive a link to join the discord when you are accepted. Discord is for chatting and plotting and is crucial to this roleplay. We do ask that you join the discord chat and check in on there occasionally but any important announcements will be posted in the OOC thread.

13. While this is an arranged marriage rp there is a group plot, it is fine to go off alone once in a while. Please remember to return to the group setting. I know people tend to forget about the group in these cases, and it is rather upsetting. After all, just because you have a chosen partner it does not mean you will actually end up with that person. So please keep that in mind.

The Dusk Alliance
There is very little known about the group that calls themselves The Dusk Alliance. To many they are a myth, to the council they are a very serious problem. They strike quickly and silently, and to date have never been caught. They only allow themselves to be seen when it works in their best interests. Rumours say they are backed by someone very high up in the hierarchy, but nothing has been proven. They have one goal, abolish the treaty by any means necessary.

✦ The Training Room is run down and decrepit as it has not been used since the treaty was formed. This room is always locked and very few staff even know it exists. They all believe it is an old storage room that they lost the key to.
✦ The Office is for the security teams and guards. It is their 'home base' and only available for guards to use.
✦ The Staff rooms are bedrooms for the guards. Each room is set up like a barracks with several people sharing a room.
✦ The Servant rooms are bedrooms for the servants who mainly work in the kitchens. This allows them to get to work quickly and without delays. Several people share each room, with families getting a room together. Each room is equip with several comfortable bunk beds, as well as its own bathroom and kitchenette.

The Second Floor

✦ The walls overlooking the courtyard are all covered by large windows, making it
possible to see down into the courtyard from the second floor.
✦ The Female rooms are to the left and the Male rooms are to the right.
✦ Each bedroom is equipped with its own bathroom and small sitting area.

✦ The Servant rooms are bedrooms for the servants who mainly work as personal maids and cleaners. This allows them to get to work quickly and without delays. Several people share each room, with families getting a room together. Each room is equip with several comfortable bunk beds, as well as its own bathroom and kitchenette.

Third Floor

✦ This floor is off limits to the clans unless they are summoned by the Council.
✦ There is a bedroom for each Council member (these look similar to the bedrooms for their designated clans), as well as a library for the councils personal use and a meeting room.
✦ The floor is divided into 2 sections, each section completely separate from the other.
✦ While they can overlook the main floors courtyard it is hard for them to distinguish faces, as well as the difference between servants and guests.

Everyone can start either entering the main city or having been there for a few days already. Once you arrive you will be informed of where your rooms are, as well as being told about the celebratory ball being held in everyone's honor. The ball will be held in 5 days time. This is to insure that all the participants are present. At this ball everyone will be formally introduced to their chosen partners, as well as to the court.
