Masato watched curiously as Trix ordered something. When the pie was set down, he thought, 'there's no way in hell a girl could eat all that!'. He was surprised when she shoved it towards him and demanded him to eat. "But what if I lose my girlish figure?" he asked jokingly then struck a pose. Typical Masato, cracking jokes that most people didn't find funny besides himself. He was never one to turn down food, grabbing his fork he began to eat.

Ai had been left with Masato's real mother, the first wife. The woman had left her husband so that she wouldn't be even associated with the syndicate. That worked out well for her, they never bothered and she practically didn't even exist. Ai and Nozomi had much fun at the mother-in-law's home. They got to dress up in traditional clothing, read through old stories that Masato wrote when he wanted to be a writer, and spend the time telling stories.
Sometime in the afternoon, Masato's mother asked if they would like to join her at a small little social gathering for the upper class. Ai said that she would much love to go, but didn't know if Masato would like that or not. To which the mother replied, "He can just deal with it." Borrowing a nice dress and fixing up Nozomi, the threesome took a limo ride to a nice building not far from Yokohama Hospital. When they passed by the hospital, she instinctively turned her back to it. Ai did not wish to even look at the building.
The room they were in was lavishly decorated in golds and reds. The elite members of society were all there. They ranged from lawyers, famous chefs, doctors from all over and rich politicians. Nozomi held her mother's hand and politely held herself, she was told to be on her best behavior or else a ghoul would come and eat her tongue. Ai, who came from such horrid conditions, blended in perfectly with high society. It was almost like she was destined to be in such a position.
Ai found it peaceful to get out of the house and do something that would take her troubled mind off of the events of the previous night.
