Welcome to Gaia! ::

Gah, i made my background check all cool and pretty
and then my internet died and deleted it all D:<
so now im sending it to you all lame and boring

If I still do the profile, will you mind Korkor? DD:
So sad that everyone left on us...

Sparkly Genius

No worries Kanon.
Brooke you can move on to the next stage. I'm too lazy to send out a pm tonight. xD
mmk, so if i have this right,
i make my first post and include all the stuff you wrote on the first page
and then i post it in the ooc... or send it to you?
and if you approve of it, i'm in,
right?

just checking ^_^

I think i'm gonna make a profile anyway,
but do this first

Sparkly Genius

Post the final written stuff in here. If I'm not on then PM me with a link to the page number.

The idea is that this will look like a regular, formatted ADV post. So length wise you're looking at maybe five good paragraphs. In this your explaining your character, why they are the way that they are, what they look like, their family, and more specifically how they met Stanfield. This part can be in either first or third person.
zOMG
[haha what a lame rpg name]
what's this about no profile needed?
i guess that works, now i can put all my work into a beautiful beginning post ^o^
I'll still turn in my notso wonderful profile though, I dont want all that work to go to waste afterall ~

-tackles brooke-
<3333
BROOKIEEEEEEEEEE!
How dare you stalk me ! D:<
hahaha

&& my computer hates my modem box
but no worries, im buying a bran new notebook and desktop : D
Mmk, easy enough
would you like me to include the current situations with Stanfield,
or just what was going on in her head up to that?

AND TOPPPYYY!
-is tackled-
xD
im sorry the picture in your signature was taunting me D;

OH MY JESUS D:
my computer just made a scary sound
and ejected the thingy you're supposed to stick CDs in
and im scared D;
i'm almost done with the post thing,
just a few more paragraphsss
but i'll have to work on that tonight because
i have tennis from 3 - 5
and flags from 5 - 6:30

and then i'd like to eat dinner
take a shower
get in pajamas,
you know the drill

then i'll be on and typing my fingers to the bone
it'll be done by tonight ^_^

Sparkly Genius

Mmk.
Well i'm basically done, i'm just checking over for
grammar and spelling errors, and things of that nature
i'll be done in less than tennn minutes :]

i'm not sure i did it exactly right,
but i made sure the information you wanted was in there somewhere

SPACE A fit, average sized girl was standing awkwardly in the middle of the whitest room she had ever seen. Never in her life had she seen anything as pure white, it made her want to spill a drink on it so it wasn't so perfect. Leah'd lost track of how long she'd been confined to the space, but she was pretty sure it had been a few weeks at the least. Her hair, which used to be a vibrant gold, was now an unhealthy, dull, yellow. Over the past few days, or hours, or whatever amount of time she'd been camping out there she'd normally been drugged, so she couldn't remember s**t. Leah preferred the drugs to this, though, they made her feel like she was floating, swimming in a way, and that felt safer. Not this weird, inescapable room where she always felt like she was being watched, though she didn't think that was really a possibility. Things were easier when she was drugged, better, but for some time now she'd been neglected and left to rot without the comfort of numbness. Her past times were staring at the wall, floor, and ceiling, sleeping, and waiting for the comfort of insanity.

Over her time there she'd changed drastically, her ice blue eyes which used to dance in the sunlight on warm summer days, were more hallow and lacking life, they stared blankly without interest. She had purplish bags under her eyes, Leah didn't feel safe when she was asleep, so she avoided it until her eyes shut and she collapsed to the floor. She'd always wake up in a more comfortable and logical position than the one she'd fallen asleep in, which was severely frightening. Her perfect posture was hunched a bit, nothing noticeable to the naked eye, but she could feel herself drooping all around, like a plant that was being neglected. Her personality hadn't changed too much, she was more fidgety and paranoid though, she mostly missed her family and the ocean. Sometimes without the drugs to block her wandering mind she'd begin to wonder about this place she'd found herself in, but she immediately snapped herself into memories of what used to be. Quite honestly, she didn't want to know what was going on behind the security of the snow white walls, the thought frightened her more than anything, she could feel the bad vibes surrounding her.

Leah remembered her last night home all too clearly, she'd been sitting on the beach by her house watching the sunset. She lived in Florida with her father and older brother, who had been at a football party of some sort at the time. They wouldn't be home until midnight, Leah had been sure of that, so staying on the beach a little past curfew seemed like a logical idea to a teenager who had been freed from all protective bounds for one night. Leah'd been wearing an ensemble of a plain blue bathing suit top and jean shorts. She hadn't seen them since, which made her feel very revealed and humiliated. Anyway, the majority of tourists had cleared out, while the locals packed up. Nothing seemed unsettling, Leah had waved goodbye to her friends. About an hour later there was only one man left, looking a little drunk, and Leah decided it would probably be a good time to get out of there.

"Hey there darlin', would you like to accompany me home?" he'd asked in a slurred voice, smiling crookedly as he winked at her. It wasn't anything unusual, or at least that was what she'd assumed. Embarrassed, she'd blushed and shook her head getting up and moving before he could come after her, which she knew he would. At first his jog was drunken, as he pleaded with her. This was when she noticed something was off, a drunk man would not be so demanding, he would go after the next girl he saw. Frightened, Leah broke into a sprint, she was fast enough, not a track star or anything. The man behind her gave up on the act and charged after her as he pulled something out of his pocket, it looked like some sort of gun. Leah would have liked to keep looking, but she tripped over some drift wood, twisting her ankle in an irregular angle. She'd cried out in surprise as a different man, dressed in a suit and tie caught her. Leah'd smiled at her assumed hero as he grinned back, he would definitely be able to save her from the man who'd been chasing her. It wasn't until he pulled a small syringe from is coat pocket that Leah realized she wasn't being chased, but herded. She'd struggled in his muscular arms while her ankle screamed in protest, but it had no effect on him. He jammed the needle into her shoulder and everything went black.

When she'd gotten to her destination, a group of about ten people buzzed around her. Measuring, scratching notes. She'd overheard a few discussions, one about how she'd be in the "second phase" because her ankle needed time to heal before the "procedure" and another about how they were "glad she wasn't putting up a fight like a few select others". After that she didn't want to hear anymore, so she'd zoned out. All she knew was that there were more people, surrounded by more white walls, some of those who were having a harder time than her. Leah was intelligent, from the moment she'd regained consciousness she'd been aware that escape was not an option, there were too many eyes watching at all times. The only way to make this slightly easier on herself was to go along with what they wanted. Leah wasn't going to fake happiness to soothe their egos, she didn't have that much compassion for these bastards, but she wasn't going to kick them in the face, though they really did need to stop invading her personal bubble.

It wasn't until she'd seen Stanfield loping around, drinking some coffee while Leah was being measured again that she realized this was his evil plan, it made sense, in a sick, strange sort of way that really only made things more confusing. Leah was always getting measured though, mostly her legs and waist, and she was trusted enough to be out in the open as long as she was outnumbered. Normally she didn't let her eyes wander, again, she really didn't want to see beyond the walls of her sanctuary unless she needed to pee. But noticing the familiar man sent rage pumping through her veins.

She'd met him three days before her mother's death. The local news had done a big report about how he was visiting the local hospital and checking up on his patients. Leah had been a bit excited, but nothing compared to the reporters. When he'd come into her mother's hospital room she was a bit surprised, slightly honored, but even more so, she'd felt safe. The idea of how she'd felt at that current point in time made her feel sick, never had she been more wrong about a person. It made her feel like her mother was in good hands, with such a doctor tending to her and such. He'd asked a few brief questions, to her brother, who is two years older than her, before losing interest. She hadn't noticed at the time, but he'd never so much as touched her dying mother. She guessed she was so worried about her health that his reassuring words about how she'd be fine were enough, because Leah truly wanted to believe them.

After bugging Vince, her brother, he'd turned to Leah, something sparked in his eyes as he took in her athletic frame, but again, it hadn't even registered then. His questions started off normal, name, age, where she lived. Then they started getting weirder, blood type, weight, past times. The fact that Leah was a competitive swimmer interested him even more so, and the questions went on: Was she on a team? Did she normally win? By the way, how tall was she? Her brother and father, so consumed by her dying mother hadn't given it a second thought. They probably hadn't noticed. Even Leah wasn't shaken by it, it took a lot to creep her out, at least back then it did.

The memory brought burning, angry tears to her eyes, which rarely showed emotion nowadays. Leah was sucked unwillingly back into reality, and that only made her angrier. Reality sucked, it was a burning white, that was mesmerizing yet painfully boring. Leah was almost positive she'd lost her sense of humor, but she couldn't tell, because nothing funny ever happened. Technically, nothing ever happened. Her fingers intertwined as a chill ran through her spine. Leah couldn't stop moving when she wasn't being drugged. Some part of her was always twitching or jerking around, even in her sleep she kicked her legs. Of course, Leah wasn't aware of it, but there was probably five pages written about her tendency to fidget.

Just as she'd been complaining about nothing ever happening, gosh darn it, something happened. The lights dimmed, maybe there was a technical failure of some sort, she didn't necessarily care. Uninterested, she continued on her mental journey to the past, but before she could retreat to the comfort of her memories, something caught her eyes. The bright white was leaking from all around her, revealing nothing, or what looked a whole lot like nothing. Leah wasn't stupid enough to assume she was being set free, that would be mad, but instead she accepted to fact that this was glass, or something like it. What startled her more was that there were four people, in similar glass cases, to her sides. Two boys on one side, and two girls on the other. They were dressed identically to her, and she was taken off guard despite the fact that she'd already been slightly aware of their existence.

A sudden, faceless voice chopped through her thoughts. Leah jumped a few inches the air, startled by the new voice, it was a cold emotionless one, why was she not surprised? Leah listened intently, because covering her ears in an attempt to block out the unwanted words would do her no justice, she'd rather pay attention now than pay for her ignorance later. Her eyes gave nothing away until he every so subtly mentioned that the kids, who had done what they were about to do, had "perished". Great, that was just lovely. But alas, there were hopes for the future! Hallelujah! Yeah right, they assumed this group was stronger because they'd been rotting in happy land for, how long?

There was a pause, and Leah shuffled restlessly, wishing he wouldn't toy with her patience. She wanted all the facts, pronto. She still had no freaking idea what was going on. When he did finally continue, she wished he hadn't. They were going to become, "superhuman"? Was that the word he'd used? Leah knew a bunch of whack jobs had something to do with this, but she didn't think the people were that madly insane. Did they actually think this would work? Regardless of the fact that, oh my, they killed a few people attempting this already. Did that mean nothing to them?

Leah's blue eyes, which had life in them for the first time in what seemed like years, were widened in horror. She glimpsed around to the boys and girls, were they hearing this too? The voice continued on, not bothering to notice her distraction. She hadn't realized the speech was over until a door flew open and about ten surgeons fled into her cramped, glass box. She mentally scolded herself for not thinking to look straight ahead through the glass to see these people, for she had been too preoccupied with the teens who seemed to be in the same situation as her. The adults grasped at her limbs, stomach, shoulders, anything they could find, but they should have known better than that. Leah wasn't going to put up a fight, instead she glowered at the woman who was now in charge of her fate.

Okay Brooke. I have some advice, especially since you're the first person to be done.

The post, as a whole, seems better served as an introduction. It's not exactly what I was thinking when it comes to posting your character up. The idea is to have them thrown onto a page. Essentially you're writing up what makes them tick, what makes Leah, Leah. The appearance descriptions and such as awesome. But I don't see a lot of personality in there. I would like for you to try and add a little bit more personality to it, make Leah personable but not a mary-sue. Add in a few more activites and hobbies aside from swimming. Don't focus on Stanfield's introduction when it comes to a setting for your post. It doesn't even have to have a setting. Just explain Leah. That's all I'm asking.

            -listens to korr's advice-
... i have to fix mine up a little bit too Dx
i kinda side tracked on a few things sooo . . eep!
