↳ Adaptive: No matter the situation, Keigo can always be relied upon to use his initiative and blend with his surroundings. He learns fast and, whilst he may panic a little (after all, he's still human) he recovers from the initial shock very quickly.
↳ Irritable: Perhaps a strange trait for a policeman, but Keigo can't help that he's a little hot-headed at times. He's improved a lot since his youth, but lately his proximity with the Yakuza is serving to legitimise his flares of rage. There are fewer restrictions on how he can handle situations now that he's masquerading as an Ikeda.
↳ Intuitive: Firstly, his intuitive nature is what makes him such a good undercover officer. However, that same nature is somewhat troublesome when it comes to his views on justice. Keigo is an emotional man and relies more on intrinsic morals than the law in deciding whether something is wrong or right.
↳ Physical: Sometimes words don't cut it, but more often than not Keigo doesn't give them enough of a chance. He likes the thrill of the chase, the adrenaline of a fight, the satisfaction when he has to push someone to the ground to handcuff them. Unfortunately, his action-hero attitude applies outside work as well; if he can't think of the right thing to say, he'll probably express it by other means.
↳ Sentimental: Work is work, but when he's not being a tough officer of the law it's easy to see that he has a very vulnerable side to him. When he's off duty the day's events plague his thoughts - especially lately, given his current assignment.
► S K I L L S
↳ Improvisation: He thinks fast and can usually find a solution (even if only temporary) to any obstacles he faces at work. He's a skilled liar and has a good memory so his chances of tripping himself up in his own web of lies is fairly slim.
↳ Indestructable: Or at least seemingly so. Keigo's been through a lot of injuries (including being shot) but somehow he always manages to pull through.
↳ Weapons Training: He's been trained in the use of various weapons, but more importantly in how to disarm someone else.
↳ Drawing: He's always been good at putting images to paper. He swears he's given up art, but he still doodles figures from time to time before balling them up and throwing them in the bin.

↳ Those who know Keigo often wonder why he decided to join the Police. As a teenager the only academic subject he excelled in was art - he simply applied no effort into anything else, except for sports. The crowd he spent his time with was generally regarded as a collection of misfits led by an elder boy whom Keigo respected and, he realises now, loved. When he confided in Keigo that he wished to join the police, Keigo decided that he would follow him. Unfortunately his feelings remained unrequited; the boy he respected was involved in a bike crash and hospitalised with a coma. He died nine weeks later.
In some ways Keigo's decision to enter the police was his way of dealing with the passing of his friend; he gained a sense of purpose with the badge. He moved frequently between different departments in Tokyo, specialising on group and gang crimes. Five years ago he became a plain clothes officer doing minor undercover work and three years after that he was transferred to do a serious undercover investigation wherein he joined a street gang suspected of human trafficking. The investigation ended on a positive note and was part of the reason Keigo was chosen to infiltrate the Ikeda group in search of leads on the missing persons.

↳ Despite his turbulent youth, Keigo was never arrested. He always ran too fast.
↳ As a result of his last major undercover investigation Keigo has a small tattoo of a gang crest on his lower back, near his hips. It worked wonders in earning some temporary trust - shame the tattoo itself is permanent.
↳ He's an only child and both of his divorced parents live in Tokyo with their new partners.
↳ He's renting out a cheap room near the train station for the duration of this investigation. It's small, it's shabby and there's a suspicious mould growing in the bathroom but it does the trick.
↳ There's a rather good reason that there's a long gap between his last undercover case and his latest one, but good luck getting him to spill.

↳ Work - While he is technically on the clock with his various activities around town he's usually found in fine suits, mostly of the Armani brand. The color schemes usually stick with the darker color-tones of blacks, deep reds, or blues. These clothes are also accompanied with accessories, such as a high-dollar watch.
↳ Casual - Most of his clothing consists of high-end designs. Ryu has a thing for leather and can usually be found wearing his black leather jacket with a fur trimmed collar when the weather is cool. The color schemes match that of his suits and stick with darker tones as well. While in his casual wear the accessories grow with the accompaniment of a silver chain with what appears to be an animal claw hanging from it and often a pair of high-class sunglasses.

↳ violent ;; As one could guess, he's is a fairly violent person. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there and he enjoys to show others that he's the top dog in this world.

↳ Being born to the Shirakawa family practically ensures a future of crime. His entire family, going three generations back, has always been involved with the Ikeda family in one way or another. Ryu was a single child of a loan shark back and a stay at home wife. Life had been pretty relaxed compared to most, he had been sheltered from violence until around middle-school when he tagged along on an eventful trip of his father collecting money from his own brother. His father had taught him that day about how the world really worked and took the lessons to heart. It's eat or be eaten, no matter who it was. After that Ryuichi toughened up incredibly and often got into fist-fights at school and tagged along to the mahjong parlors to gamble.
By the time he had reached high school he barely attended classes and focused on his own little loan business within the school. He had gotten into plenty of trouble through his younger years for fighting and skipping too many days of school. By the time he was near graduation did he finally settle down a bit and raised his grades with surprising ease. Sweet-talking and bribing teachers also helped. And so soon after high school he attended university in Tokyo and studied as a business major.
During this time he also worked as a low-ranking member of the Ikeda family, working for the head of the family as pretty much an errand boy. He had proved himself capable of greatness latter down the line with a few incidents with eradication of rival gangs in the area and not to mention the extensive network in the underworld. He has his hands wrapped around the sex industry, drugs, illegal weapons trade, money laundering/loans, and not to mention the import/export trades.

↳ The Oyabun - He is the boss of the Ikeda family and a man he highly respects, going as far as viewing the man as a father figure of sorts. Despite the recent tension between himself and the waka-gashira, he is still loyal to the oyabun and would never openly defy him.
↳ Nobuhiko Ikeda - The boss' brat to whom he's met on a number of occasions. He has little faith in the youth and has plenty of doubts about making him the heir to the Ikeda family. Ryu has no ill-contempt towards the kid, but he is far from respecting him.
↳ Keigo Yamasaki - A newbie in the organization that he's taken an interest in. He tends to pick on the guy more than most, mostly due to the fact he's a new face.
↳ Toshio Fujiware - They've met in passing, but he doesn't know the kid well.

↳ Friendly. Well, friendlier than most. He isn't the type to invade personal space unless he's really close to the other person, but in most of his interactions he's been considered approachable and relaxing to talk to.
↳ Flirtatious. With women. With men he's more of the blushing, I-can't-even-muster-the-courage-to-confess sort.
↳ Genuine. Toshio makes his feelings fairly clear. If he likes you, you'll know. If he doesn't like you, you'll know.
↳ Expressive. Goes hand-in-hand with the above. He smiles easily, laughs easily. Doesn't like to get angry, but when he's angry, he's absolutely livid. His wrath is legendary amongst yakuza patients who simply waved off their wounds. "Punks trying to look tough," is what pissedoff!Toshio calls them.
↳ Wary. Being so close to the waka-gashira weighs more on his mind than he lets on, so he tries to avoid getting used by people wanting a higher position by sucking up to Nobuhiko.
↳ Protective. He gets this instinct from his choice in career. One of the only times he'll ever yell at another person is if they're not seeking help for health issues or making light of their injuries. Especially if this "other person" is Nobuhiko.

↳ Speed. He makes up for his general lack of skill in close-quarter fighting with a talent in running and hiding.
↳ Firearms. Hidden even from Nobuhiko, this is a talent that was nurtured by the oyabun himself. He has extremely good accuracy on the range, but has never aimed a gun at another human being.
↳ Yabusame. In other words, horseback archery. He dabbled a little in his college days because he loves anything remotely cultural.
↳ Horrible luck. When it comes to gambling, expect him to lose.

↳ Fujiwara Toshio was an accident. Born of a whirlwind yet short romance between his mother and a charming musician, Toshio has never actually met his biological father. It was a this low point in Fujiwara Michiko's life that the Ikeda family took her in, giving her work as the oyabun's wife's personal maid. Because of this, Toshio's loyalty lies completely with the oyabun--a loyalty that extended to the oyabun's son when he was born four years after him. Years of looking after Nobuhiko as an older brother figure molded Toshio into a mature yet fun-loving young man. In this way he continued to grow and continues still.
↳ He decided on his career relatively early in his life. Throughout childhood, he was so close to the Ikeda family that one could say that he was too close to know the truth. Up until a certain event in his teens, Toshio's idea of the yakuza was simply a large group of people who trusted each other enough to call themselves one "family", did business together, and occasionally beat some guys up here and there.
↳ This "event" was, of course, when he was held at gunpoint in front of his childhood friend. That was when the violence hit home, and when he started to really pay attention to exactly what the yakuza did. Drug trade, human trafficking, gun running, the list went on. When the oyabun's wife noticed that Toshio was slowly starting to loathe the darkness he was suddenly being thrust into, she gently suggested that he apply to Tokyo Ika Daigaku (Tokyo Medical University) after high school. She thought it would be therapeutic.
↳ She was right. Years later, Toshio passed the national medical licensing exam with fluid ease, then immediately went on to complete a year-long internship at UCLA (California, USA) under the tutelage of a respected professor. The boy learned fast, everyone noted. His diligence and enthusiasm for his work earned him enough of a reputation to open his own private clinic near home--the Ikeda stronghold.
↳ Try as he might, it wasn't easy to completely cut himself off from the yakuza. There was his mother, the oyabun and his wife, Nobuhiko...he was even attached to some of the older members as well, as they had carried him around on their shoulders when he was just a child. This realization that he would never be able to abandon the Ikeda family for a quiet life led him to make what he considers to be the most frightening decision of his life.
↳ Suddenly and without warning--not even stopping to tell Nobuhiko beforehand--Toshio directly approached the oyabun and asked him to teach him how to defend himself, hoping that he could use that knowledge and training to protect Nobuhiko as well. At the very least, he didn't want to become a hindrance. Nobuhiko lived in a dark world, and even though Toshio was not actively involved in its inner workings, he was connected to it through his oldest friend. If he was captured or used against him (again), he wasn't so stupidly selfless as to think that he wasn't important enough for the waka-gashira to throw himself into danger to save him.
↳ To his surprise, the oyabun agreed to teach him in secret. Even more shocking was that he skipped right over hand-to-hand combat and placed a handgun on the desk.
↳ That was seven years ago. Now, Fujiwara Toshio can assemble and load at least 30 different types of firearms in under a minute. Blindfolded. He favors the Sako TRG-42 (a sniper rifle), but is theoretically quite capable of wrenching a handgun from an armed opponent and using it against them with extraordinary accuracy. He has never been put in a situation that forced him to reveal his training, so whether he will actually be able to pull the trigger or not remains to be seen.
