i was thinking of making him kinda different.
like, almost overly cordial,
because he has to fill certain expectations that he sets up for himself.
which also kinda makes him quirky.
but, he can be a goofy kind of klutz and likes attention and to talk to people,
try to make himself remembered.

i was thinking instead of the memory loss,
he should be more of a klutz.
it fits a bit more. [not that i don't love the idea! haha]

and that's a good question!
i'd say that he's just a waiter so he can make money to be on the island.
he doesn't hate the job and he doesn't mind being there.
he doesn't want to be where he originally lives.
i'm thinkin' of makin him have just one rough patch in his life.
but,
he likes to talk to people,
i guess i'll make him into someone who likes to know what's going on,
the gossip of the island.
but he's not obvious about it. it's more for himself.
so, he wants it to be on the island.
..he can stay occupied and away from his town.

Maybe his parents owned a catering company in Orange County and during a major event he was a replacement server and he tripped and spilled french onion soup on the bride and the husband, some rich a** punk, had him fired and nearly deported? His parents moved him to Hawaii with family, hesitantly, but they couldn't afford to try and fight the rich man.

EDIT: The plan is to, yes, start on the first day for the summer staff.

i like where you both are going!

I'd say that he wanted to go to the island on his own,
again, to get away --
but also that the thing he did back home caused his parents to send him here,
so they could get over what he did.
He'll be from the mainland, but lives somewhat close to a beach on..
I'm gonna say the west coast, probably northern California.
I think i'd like him to surf, because he's going to be competitive, too.
he chooses Hawaii because he likes that it's secluded,
and moves a little slower and is out of the way of all of the mainland's problems.
he likes to be kind of more casual, but quirky.


i alsooo like the idea of the catering company
and something happening there that involves his klutzy-ness.
but, I kind of, in a way, want it to be more drastic and major.
it's the kind of thing that almost bothers him way too often,
and makes him hesitate to make some decisions.


EDITEDIT;] : I also like the idea that he'd move with a family.
I think that he should move in with his aunt, uncle, and male cousin..
