ello to everyone who pops in and through here, I’m Korrye and this is my roleplay Oahu Paradise, a advanced group roleplay.

Based just off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii, is the Sunset Resort, a surfer's paradise. The resort is highly saught after by celebrities due to it's outstanding service and reputation. It also hosts and sponsors one of the country's top surfing competitions in the middle of July. Any surfer looking to make their break or win some big bucks gets into that competition. Along with it comes the official title of tourist trap and the local community is shaped around the industry. The Resort has just hired it's new summer staff. With the competition in two weeks it's a free for all, even amongst locals, to catch the biggest wave.

e serve, you surf! It's the motto that breathes life into the lives of various Oahu locals, celebrities and professional athletes alike. Oahu Paradise, the name of the small cordoned area belonging to the Sunset Resort is the best place to surf in all of the United States. We serve, you surf is also the tag line thrown at the faces of the clientele by all of the Sunset Resort staff. Thank-god they changed it from We're happy to surf you.

Carson Williams invested in the land thirty years ago at the ripe age of twenty, taking his own million dollar inheritance and pouring it into something he loved-surfing. And within five years the Sunset Resort opened it's doors for the first time. Soon before long it was flooded with people who could care less about the ridiculous pricing (@1500 a night in the summer) but simply loved the sprawling beach, white sands and crystal blue water. That opening year Williams then hosted The Hurley US Open which quickly became one of the most prestigious. At Twenty-Four Williams found the love of his life and settled into his empire, opening other resorts in various locations around the world.

Of all the Sunset Resorts, Oahu still remains the location to be. Advertizing for the surf competition and, in general, the killer waves started this year in January. Tourists have since then been exposed to insane videos and monster marketing campaigns for the thirtieth annual Hurley Open and the local Oahu-fest--a weeklong beach part packed with events of every kind.

Though locals will always be invited to Williams' events, any other person wishing to get in on the events either needs a ridiculous amount of money or a private invite--both of which are hard to come by. So instead, ten teens have gotten themselves a job at the sunset resort as part of the summer staff. One of them doesn't have a clue how to surf. One of them is ranked number fifty-second in the world. But one thing is foresure, these teens will have to earn their way into the competition and compete with one another to catch the biggest wave this summer. While dealing with each other, management, the William's son and daughter, parties and wacky tourists things are bound to get crazy.

Please note that this is a fairly open plot roleplay.

ocated on a prime slice of beach, The Sunset Resort, is just five kilometers past Hanauma Bay on Oahu Island, Hawaii with plush white beaches, roaring waves that reach fifteen feet high on a good day.

From the airport in Honolulu a Sunset Resort shuttle bus, requiring proof of stay and passport to ride, will drive the sixteen miles southward to reach the plush resort. The Hurley US Open will take place in various locations on the island, namely Hanauma Bay and Wakiiki beach, but the main competitions will take place on the main beach owned and maintained by the resort.

The Resort has added new features to it's extensive list of available opportunities, namely:
- 6 Gourmet Restaurants
- A Driving Range and Mini-Golf Course
- 3 Deluxe Swimming Pools & Hottubs, one of which is in-door & a the 'tots' pool.
- Outdoor Buffet and Poolside Bar (see above for pictures)
- Scuba-diving tours
- Aquarium
- 1 go-carting racetrack
- Deluxe Water-park
- Surf and swim Instruction
- Yoga and Tai Chi instruction
- Complementary Spa

The summer staff, however, do not live in the resort but will realize upon arrival that a large and somewhat run-down boarding house behind the resort, a five minute walk from the property border, will be their new home. The house itself is three floors, the top floor belonging to the girls, the middle the guys, the main floor is the common-room. From it is a direct path to the beach. Showers are often cold due to the fact that maintenance has neglected to fix the hot water tank since last year. Current staff openings are listed in the rules&applications thread.

s owner of Oahu Paradise I am the goddess and moderator. It is important that you READ EVERYTHING laid out here before you send me a private message and clog up my inbox.

CHARACTERS
XNo John or Jane Does, no Mary or Gary sues. Original unique characters with lovable flaws. The profile skeleton, from what I've seen, is tiny in caparison to others. I'm not asking for much because then people get so sucked into the planning that they never get to the actual writing. Your characters shouldn't have some tragic and epic past like their brother was a champion surfer who died doing what he loved and now your character will following in their footsteps. This is all about fun in the sun, the crazy lives of a group of kinds who work at one of the worlds largest and grandest resorts. Ages should be between 17-26, no older.

QUALITY & QUANITITY
X5 paragraphs, long introductions and 800 words a post on a regular basis. I don't need to sit and read for three paragraphs your characters epiphany on how beautiful the water is and how they should pack up their bags and live there forever. Nope. I want interaction and your character's personality should be obvious in their dialogue.

BEAUTY
XPretty post layouts area must, I do 'em too. Characters must also be nameless, faceless models unless specified or fleshed out for a plot. This means that I'm looking for a color palatte that is unique to your character, try to make sure that they are different from one another, size 10 font and graphics. If you don't know how to make graphics or where to find nameless models just ask because one of us, myself included, can steer you in the right direction.

TALK HERE
XNothing, except background checks, should be discussed through pms. You're all fleshing out things here, unless you're the one trying to figure out a plot advancement. This OOC thread is here for the purpose of chatting and discussing. So please, don't avoid using it. I would prefer it if my inbox didn't get bombarded with pms.

TOLERANCE
XThough I have roleplayed many different characters and tried my best to understand the culture in different cities, there are a few things that I won't do. I am a heterosexual writer only. I have nothing against gays, lesbians or bis but it's not my thing. At the same time I'm not a fan of extreme gore, anime, zombie or anything extremely graphic in terms of relationships. I don't need the details and Gaia is nothing above PG13. My characters swear but they don't give illicit details about what happens in Vegas, if you know what I mean. Keep this is mind as you post your ideas. And it should be respected if someone else in this thread has different ideals. I won't tolerate flaming, abuse or cybering. You'll get reported. End of story.

ACTION > ROMANCE
XSorry people, I don't think the world revolves around sex. There has to be a plot in there. Yes, a lot of my ideas surround romance but it's the actions that get two people there. If you're looking to create a romance your character's personality, job and whatever else is going on in the thread does matter. Keep things realistic. Lastly, just throwing it up here because this section is long already, dedication and commitment. We all have lives, I know this well, but please, I would appreciate it if you kept me up to date on why you're not able to post, whether it's a block or it's life. I don't need details, just that something is going on and I shouldn't be waiting with my hopes up and neither should the other members of this thread.

mportant dates:

July 10th: PROFILES ARE DUE ON SUNDAY JULY 12TH and the NPC post will be up on the Monday. Members will have one week to post their intro. After that we will continue with the plot and other applicants will discuss with me how to bring in their characters late. Moving to start on July 20th!

July 6th: Applicants are now permitted to two character slots.

June 30th: Summer staff are required to have arrived for staff training and orientation by 1:30pm local time. Be prompt! This is your first day of work! Locals should also be present and accounted for, guiding the summer staff through orientation.

July 17th-25th: The Hurley US Open Surfing competition and Oahu-fest.

July 2nd: Uniforms posted on page 41.
