I don't think Blazing Saddles is that old. xd It's from the 70's. It's Mel Brooks. It's a spoof of westerns, and a spoof of racism. It's about a town that get a black sheriff (when all the townspeople are raging racists).

Well that quote is from when the white townspeople need all the guys they hate to help them save their town. All the black guys and asian guys and so on say they'll help, but only if the townspeople allow them to stay, and the townspeople reply: "Oh... alright. We'll take all the <n-words> and the <c-words>... but we won't take the Irish!" xd

Right at the end when the king makes a black guy the Sheriff of Nottingham, everyone goes "a black sheriff?!?!" (and the blind guy who has been his friend the whole movie goes "he's black?"), then the guy responds, "And why not? It worked in Blazing Saddles!" And everyone goes, "Oh! Yeah, it did."
