I'm not even sure. xd It's only a very rough count. Until I have a link to an actual profile, I never assume I'm going to see one just because someone says they will make one. So I haven't actually counted, I just think we have three or four profiles coming. Maybe.

That's a good number, though. I haven't seen that many adv lit rps with a whole lot of people smile

Really? I'm a lot more hesitant to apply for a premade sweatdrop Cause I'm afraid my idea might deviate from the owner's original idea of the premade character sweatdrop

I don't like premades either, but I guarantee that if I made Emerald Hills with 14 premades, at least 8 would be claimed already by now. If you look through Barton for advlit RPs, the ones with premades never have less than 6-8 people - even mere hours after first accepting. On the other hand, the ones with no premades can have anywhere down to 3 or 4 - and sometimes they start with that few people, but usually they just never take off.
I did very seriously consider making premades for this remake of Emerald Hills. I even considered a hybrid where there were some premade roles, if you wanted to use one, but otherwise completely free and open roles. I still might even do that.

I don't have an ideal or an upper limit, but I do have a preferred lower limit. I would like as an absolute minimum at least 6 students and 2 teachers. I would prefer at least 4 teachers, and 10 students. The minimum is easily achievable - in fact, we are already half-way there.
Emerald Hills is actually designed to accommodate a large number of people, and late comers, too. So, theoretically we could start with 14 people and in four months have 30. Theoretically xd because I doubt we'll get anywhere near that many dedicated players. But the period system and the mysterious headmistress are designed to shock the RP if people start getting stuck because they were with someone who is flaking out. So if someone is stuck with someone who has poofed or is posting way too slowly, I can save them.

So far, I don't think anyone has mentioned making a teacher yet, and Kaitlin is into math and/or physical sciences (or just physics if someone else makes another math or science teacher, as needed), but it's first-come-first-served anyway. So yes, history is open.

I know! That's a huge problem! I've actually designed Emerald Hills to handle that specific problem. If two people have coupled up and they're just ignoring the rest of the RP, the headmistress will step in to shake things up. I have a number of tricks planned.
