Yeah i'm going to agree with su on this one, i think the face needs to just be changed so its not a carbon copy of Kas'. I'd stick a few more tiny accessories on it as well.

I think it was more of a personal challenge than anything else! (Because if I truly wanted to emulate someone, it would have to be things I already owned.)
It's very crucial I'm learning! (And what's sad is I can guess/know half the items on the application avatar to emulate lol)
Yeaaaaah, it really just depends how far towards your style you wanna go I suppose.

Oh I'm right there with you. I just love avatar contests but this is something I have little experience in!

I almost used those tbh, but I was like nah ******** it I wanna USE THIS. In the end you can't please them all (hue), so you may as well be pleasing yourself at the very least. I also like the way judging is handled in anonymity/alias and the shade.

That and what I entered for the preliminary I didn't think I'd come out with votes on anyways, as I did it for fun 'cause I was bored at the time (which honestly you'd find that's why I 'join' most things, or I'd like to challenge myself in other cases) and didn't put extensive thought into it. That's why I was surprised when I got any like 'What. People like my garbage? Is this real life or is this just fantasy?'

For example my biggest reason for choosing the arms (that are part of the shirt) I did for it was because A. I don't see anyone use it and I wanted to and B. it had stripes, like the original one did (albeit thicker ones). So I completely ignored the silhouette of the arms on purpose on the original in favor of that reasoning even though I knew of other items with the same general shape that would have worked better (like Jello's).

It also really comes down to, imo, whether or not you know good replacement items and people's perspectives (like are the Boom Boom and Big Boom arm mods close enough to TTnTT's arm mod???). If at all possible I try not to just use recolors of the same item even if it's just once because it feels cheap? Like this isn't 'how many items can you identify to recreate this look in other colors' contest or something, ya know?

But I also agree because to me that's another part of emulation: item knowledge & product placement. lol There's so many routes to take with so many themes and that's why this contest is going to be the best. I was also very impressed with Pimpernel Blue's entry (no wonder you both got tied) because holy s**t who would've thought to do an emulation on a paw base. #hardcore ❞

I mean, Blue's great and that's their whole thing, the paw base that is, and they're good at what they do. I've seen Blue emulate people in the past very well and I felt bad about the landslide in the tied vote. Like if anyone deserved it I thought Blue did and wonder if it was only because it was a paw base, honestly.
